LEE SMITH: Why the Iran Deal Matters.
Nearly a decade after the selling of the Iran deal, it’s much easier now for Americans to see that it was the origin point in a series of hugely consequential lies that have shaped our country at home as surely as they have shaped the lives of people in the Middle East. They lied about Obama’s successor being a Russian spy to delegitimize the government and divide the country, in the hope of removing an elected president from office. They lied about an “insurrection” on Jan. 6, 2021, to justify designating one half of the country as domestic terrorists, in order to put their political opponents in jail. They’ve lied about so many things because they’re certain that their communications infrastructure—where intelligence officers direct big tech and censor what was once America’s independent press—will shape the “information space” on their behalf, effectively controlling what we see, hear, and read. They first built their echo chamber to sell the idea that the Iran deal would stop Iran from getting a bomb; now the echo chamber is everywhere—a high-tech version of how the press is run in countries like Egypt, or Iran.

BRENDAN O’NEILL: A pogrom against Israel. “The West’s leftist haters of Israel will say it’s an ‘act of resistance’. These apologists for radical Islam will dress up this invasion by a movement that was founded with the express purpose of killing Jews as a ‘rebellion’. They will expose, unwittingly, the true extent of their own moral decomposition. For if the world’s only Jewish state angers you more than any other state, even as its civilians are being gunned down and burnt out, then, truly, you have left the realm of politics and entered the realm of bigotry. You have become an intellectual facilitator of the pogrom.”
ISRAEL’S PEARL HARBOR: “Hamas’s invasion was no mere act of terrorism. It was, rather, an act of war carried out by what is effectively a state. Prime Minister Netanyahu got it right when he said, immediately after the invasion was launched, that Israel was at war. The difference is important. If the invasion was just another in a long series of terrorist outrages, then selective reprisals, as in the past, are the presumptive response. In other words, doing again what hasn’t worked before–destroying a few military installations and taking out a handful of political or military leaders. War is different. A war ends only when one side internalizes the fact that it is beaten and loses the will to continue.”

‘THE WORLD IS WATCHING:’ Biden Affirms* U.S. Support for Israel amid Hamas Terror.
President Joe Biden addressed the ongoing Hamas attack against Israel today, reaffirming the U.S.’s commitment to the Jewish state’s security.
“In this moment of tragedy, I want to say to them, to the world, and to terrorists everywhere: The United States stands with Israel,” Biden said. “We will not ever fail to have their back. We will make sure they have the help their citizens need and they can continue to defend themselves.”
Referencing the spate of photographs and videos making the rounds on social media and elsewhere, Biden called the images from Israel “appalling.” He added that he has spoken with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as Jordanian king Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and members of Congress, and has directed the U.S.’s national-security apparatus to engage with Israeli security on next steps.

TAMMY BRUCE: Biden Using Border Disaster as Campaign Stunt.
Take this from the Biden regime’s current flip-flop-flip – Nothing has changed for Biden or those obsessed with keeping our border wide open. This sudden (fake) passion about border security was meant as a distraction, a method with which to gaslight Americans into making them think Biden is serious about securing the border—a laughable assertion. This is busy work in an attempt to convince Americans they care. And they can’t even keep their lines straight.
Moreover, construction on “a few miles” of border wall will also provide video for vulnerable Democrat campaign ads during a time when two-thirds of Democrats want someone other than Biden to be the nominee. That disaffection is a disaster for Democrats as it will be felt from the top to the bottom of the election ballot.
No doubt polls are indicating the American people have had enough and are pushing the Biden White House to try to display some fake empathy about the issues. When Gallup asks, “What is the most important problem facing the country today?” their poll released last week reveals that of “non-economic problems,” the most important problem for Americans is “immigration” second only to “the government/poor leadership.” That same poll finds “Fifty-three percent of Americans believe the Republican Party will do a better job of keeping the country prosperous over the next few years, whereas 39% choose the Democratic Party. A slightly larger majority, 57%, have greater faith in the Republican Party to protect the country from international terrorism and military threats, while 35% favor the Democrats.”
Yikes!
Biden and his mob know exactly the damage they’re causing and are likely confident they have other methods with which to continue the immigration, crime, and economic abuse inflicted on this country. Sure, they can put up a few more miles of wall for election season, but their plan to keep the catastrophic flow of migrants will continue apace.
If the withered husk of John Gill Joe Biden runs again in 2024, the chutzpah of his campaign team running ads showing a few miles of wall going up will be astonishing to watch. It’s John McCain telling Vanity Fair in 2007, “I’ll build the goddamned fence if they want it,” pumped up on Barry Bonds levels of mega-steroids.
VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: Our Establishment’s Alternate Realities.
One common denominator that explains why previously successful societies implode is their descent into fantasies. A collective denial prevents even discussion of existential threats and their solutions.
Something like that is happening in the United States. Eight million illegal immigrants have entered the United States by the deliberate erasure of the southern border.Apparently, the Biden administration sees some unstated advantage in destroying U.S. immigration law and welcoming in would-be new constituents.
Yet, the more the millions arrive, the more President Joe Biden and his Homeland Security director Alejandro Mayorkas flat out lie that “the border is secure.”
They both live in a world of make-believe, passed off to the American people as reality.
And the more the Americans are lied to that the border is secure, the more they poll — currently 77 percent — that it is not.
It’s VDH, so read the whole thing.

Flashback to August: Biden Admin Raised Concerns Palestinian Aid Would Boost Hamas. It Went Ahead With Aid Anyway.
REMY: LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO (TAYLOR SWIFT PARODY). New video from Reason TV:
UNEXPECTEDLY! Cardi B’s latest political take is pretty terrible.
It’s a sad reality of modern life, but a reality nonetheless, that more young people get their political cues from celebrities than from actual thought leaders or intellectuals. One such celebrity whose political takes regularly go viral is rap star Cardi B—but her latest viral opinion is deeply misguided and misinformed.
During an interview on the wildly popular “Hot Ones” podcast, Cardi B spoke about how and why she “loves FDR,” referring, of course, to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who occupied the Oval Office from 1933 to 1945.
Cardi B’s admiration for FDR is on full display. And it’s not just her: it’s incredibly common for American liberals and progressives to cite FDR as a role model and icon. There’s just one problem: FDR was a vicious tyrant who committed atrocities these people never seem to reckon with.
One wonders whether Cardi B is aware of the fact that FDR carried out the horrifying practice of forcing “Japanese” (read: Asian-looking people, even US citizens) into internment camps during World War II. As History.com recounts:
“On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signs Executive Order 9066, initiating a controversial World War II policy with lasting consequences for Japanese Americans. The document ordered the forced removal of resident ‘enemy aliens’ from parts of the West vaguely identified as military areas.
And it wasn’t just Asian Americans that FDR wanted to err, resettle: New Documents Reveal FDR’s Eugenic Project to ‘Resettle’ Jews During World War II. As the Holocaust raged, the American president secretly asked his government to study the possible resettlement of remaining European refugees in Africa and South America. His goal: for Jews to be ‘spread thin all over the world.’
But FDR’s fascistic tendencies were hidden by his brilliant economic policies: FDR’s policies prolonged Depression by seven years, UCLA economists calculate.
And the lack of partisan hyperbole in his speeches: In his 1944 State of the Union address, FDR smeared the laissez–faire Coolidge era of the 1920s as “the spirit of fascism.”
And his well-tempered demeanor: FDR gave a Nazi Iron Cross to a conservative reporter he didn’t like in 1942.
Flashback: Joe Biden, President Of Cardi B(abylon). Biden gave Cardi B (whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) an interview (of sorts) that was published by Elle magazine on the first day of the Democratic National Convention in August of 2020.
ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACK: X starts removing headlines for news stories.
X users reading the news on the platform woke up confused Thursday, as the site displays only articles’ graphics and not headlines.
Many news stories, including those from major sources, showed up as only images. If users want to know what the headline is, they have to click the image and be taken away from X.
Previously, the X post would show the article’s graphic as well as the headline underneath. Now news organizations must manually write the headline into the post before sending it or else users will see just a picture.
While the change was sudden, it had been announced by owner Elon Musk. In August, he confirmed that X would be removing headlines from stories. According to the billionaire, he made the decision to “greatly improve” the look of the site.
That argument didn’t sit well with some.
“It is disappointing to see another helpful and important feature of a text-based information platform be removed because one guy thinks it looks too cluttered,” user Cody Johnston wrote.
Why, it’s as if: Elon Musk makes it up as he goes.
QUESTIONS NOBODY IS ASKING: Did Taylor Swift Go To The Jets Football Game To Cover Up Her Own Absurd Private Jet Use?
There’s a theory going around that Taylor Swift had an ulterior motive, besides her possible romance with Travis Kelce, for attending last Sunday’s Chiefs vs Jets game at MetLife Stadium.
Now what could the world’s most popular celebrity be so concerned about that she would purposely make a big deal about attending a football game? Well, it’s not just any football game… it was a Jets game.
The theory is that Swift wanted to deliberately try and cover up her carbon footprint and her use of private jets. Taylor is one of the biggest CO2 polluter out of any celebrity – with her private jet use emissions at 1000x the average person.’
The Chiefs play the Vikings this Sunday. What conspiracy theory will the left generate from that if Swift is in a skybox in Minneapolis?
MICHAEL BARONE: New Deal politics turned upside down.
Two decades ago, as Republican consultant Patrick Ruffini recently posted, “Dems used to be able to drive news cycles about Republicans being mean to the poor and seniors and this used to be a headache the GOP would have to respond to. Now,” he says, “no one cares if Dems say this.”
Democrats profess puzzlement at this, and it seems unlikely that just a few economic seasons could alter a nearly 90-year political attitude. But remember that when people are asked which party “cares about people like me,” they’re thinking also of which party cares about the people they’re hostile to. Since the 1930s, that meant many voters thought Republicans cared only about the rich and big business.
That assumption has been undermined by the process, slow since the middle 1990s, accelerated under Trump, by which affluent college graduates have been not only voting more Democratic, but have become the visible driving force in the Democratic Party, as witnessed by its emphasis on college loan debt forgiveness and net-zero green policies raising the prices of gasoline and appliances.
In this setting, modest-income voters think Republicans “care about people like me” not because they expect them to shovel out government money but because they expect Democrats to push policies that, while providing psychic income for affluent college graduates, will cost them more money for gas and food or force them to buy electric cars that conk out, washers that don’t wash, dryers that don’t dry, and heat pumps that don’t heat. New Deal politics has been turned upside down.
The New Deal built things — the modern left vows “You will never see another federal dam” and wants to put drivers on a road and gas station “diet.” In 2019, when AOC was in her Green Nude Eel monomania phase, she was in full “ban all things!” mode.
