THEY DON’T HAVE MUCH ELSE RIGHT NOW BUT THEY’VE PROVEN FRIGHTENINGLY EFFECTIVE AT USING IT: Democrats, lacking popular support, resort to judge-shopping and more lawfare. “When Democrats said democracy would be in peril if President Trump won, they neglected to add that they themselves would be the ones creating that peril under a second Trump presidency.”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: I Don’t Want to Be Greedy, but Can We Get Some COVID Comeuppance Now? “Consequences aren’t a big part of the lives people on the Left who do awful things to others, which is galling. The worst of the COVID tyrants — Andrew Cuomo and Gretchen Whitmer come immediately to mind — have body counts for which they’re not being held responsible. Cuomo lost his job because he was a sexist pig at work and he’s already attempting a political comeback. All of the elderly people he sent to die in nursing homes don’t seem to weigh on his conscience at all.”
THE NEW SPACE RACE: Firm wins Space Force funding to provide an ‘aircraft carrier’ in orbit.
In interviews about the concept with Ars, company officials were fairly vague about specific details of what orbital carriers will be able to do. A news release published on Wednesday morning, highlighting the Strategic Funding Increase, or STRATFI grant from the United States Space Force, also lacks specifics. The Space Force would prefer to keep the vehicle’s operational capabilities under wraps.
But in general, the idea is to provide an unpressurized module in which one or more satellites can be pre-positioned in orbit.
Such a module would isolate the satellites from the space environment, sparing their batteries and sensitive electronics from harsh thermal cycles every 90 minutes, and provide some shielding from radiation. In addition, the orbital carrier would obfuscate the satellites inside from observation by other nations or hostile actors in space. Then, when a satellite is needed, it can be deployed into multiple orbits by the carrier.
It might be smart if the carrier were designed to look like an ordinary comms satellite.
PARTICULARLY GENZ MALES — THE WOMEN, FOR SOME REASON, NOT SO MUCH: Gen Z Is The Most Conservative Generation In Decades Because They’re A Victim Of The Left’s Failures.
Obama was elected president in 2008 and served for eight years of their lives. The Obama administration was the furthest left in American history (though Obama assiduously sought to hide it) until the Biden administration supplanted it. Those twelve years of Obama and Biden encompassed the majority of Gen Z’s formative years.
Outside those twelve years, the left continued its ascendancy in American culture. Even when they didn’t hold the White House, leftists — operating from their enclaves in deep blue cities and states, the worlds of academia, entertainment, sports, media, and even business — have steered Gen Z’s society toward failure upon failure.
Gen Z simply has no memory of anything else. From classrooms to the workplace, they have encountered a Berlin Wall of DEI initiatives. It is no wonder that (having been so forced-fed) they cynically say DEI stands for “didn’t earn it.”
The #MeToo movement also dominated a large portion of Gen Z’s lifespan, portraying men as implicitly suspect and putting boys under a microscope, — except when the left and Democrats cynically forget what’s inconvenient for them (e.g., the various allegations against Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, and Andrew Cuomo, who is now running for the Democrat nomination for NYC mayor).
Of course, Covid dominated Gen Zers’ lives and consciousness as it did with no other generation.
COVID was when the left began overplaying its hand and they went wild during the Biden Cabal.
CHRIS QUEEN: The Left’s ‘Inevitability’ Has Proven Hollow. “One of the constant drumbeats of the left is that its policies and cultural movements are inevitable. Progress always marches in the leftists’ direction, they tell us. They’re ‘on the right side of history,’ after all, and they like to remind us of that every chance they get. But is that true? Recent years have shown a backlash against the ‘inevitability’ of the left.”

Do you guys remember that time that a chubby Army lieutenant colonel with a dead-end career listened in on a confidential call between the President of the United States and the President of Ukraine, and then that rabidly partisan chow-thief LTC violated all of the confidentiality terms of his security clearance and ran to unauthorized Congressional staffers to blab the contents of that confidential, high-level conversation?
Remember how literally every Democrat alive thought that was just peachy-keen fine?
I remember. Good times.

STUNNING: Dying SpaceX rocket triggers giant spiral of light above UK and Europe during secret mission.
At around 8 p.m. local time (4 p.m. ET), people across the U.K. reported seeing the luminous swirl grow as it slowly streaked across the sky like something from a sci-fi movie, according to the BBC. The light show was most clearly visible above parts of England, including Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Suffolk and Essex, as well as in Wales and further afield in Sweden, Croatia, Poland, and Hungary.
Photographer Simon Minnican captured the ethereal scene in a stunning video that showed a bright spot appear and then grow in size before swelling into an ever-expanding vortex. The entire spectacle lasted around 12 minutes, with the spiral of light dissipating roughly 4 minutes after it unfurled.
There was initially some wild speculation about what had caused the unusual light show, with at least one observer blaming UFOs. However, experts quickly pointed out that it was a “SpaceX spiral” — an increasingly common phenomenon triggered by light reflecting off rocket fuel dumped into space by spinning SpaceX rockets before they reenter Earth’s atmosphere.
And here’s the video.
HOWEVER MUCH YOU DESPISE THE MEDIA, IT ISN’T ENOUGH: Legacy Media Buries Death Threats Against Gal Gadot.
We’re now learning a much bigger movie star, Gal Gadot of “Snow White” fame, had to beef up security measures in recent months. The news is getting mostly ignored in the press.
Why? Journalists can’t pin this one on Musk, Trump or other right-leaning figure. Plus, the likely threat comes from the far Left, the same group shouting “Free Palestine” and harassing Jews across college campuses.
Is there another explanation?

VICTORIA TAFT: Distinguishing the Signal From the Noise.
After the hypersonic quickness and near-flawlessness of the first few weeks of the Trump 47 presidency, the mediacrats have seized upon a Signal chat between 17 high-level administration officials and Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg. They’ve attempted to turn a discussion about attacking Houthis into the theft of the Manhattan Project. It won’t work, but it doesn’t mean that between applauding the Tesla showroom fire bombings and threatening the drivers of those cars, the left won’t keep trying to make this fetch happen.
The Morning Joe gadflies, endless CNN panels, even Hillary Clinton and everyone at the Trump White House agree on one thing: Jeffrey Goldberg shouldn’t have been on that Signal text chain because no one can trust him.
Financier, Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary, often says, “To be effective you must be able to distinguish the signal from the noise.” The way this issue has been discussed by mediacrats, it’s been all noise. Endless noise.

JUST ANOTHER DECADES-LONG HANGOVER FROM THE CARTER ADMINISTRATION: There’s no reason for the Department of Education to exist. “Thus far, none of the 80 staffers employed by the Education Department’s public relations office have been able to explain why the agency exists.”

TAKIN’ IT TO THE STREETS: You Want to Win a War? This Is How You Win a War. “There’s more good news out of the Middle East, I’m happy to report. On the heels of yesterday’s news that the Israeli Defense Force was doing an admirable and rapid job of eliminating Hamas leadership in an explosive game of Whack-a-Mole, today we learn that the Gazans themselves finally show signs of turning against their terrorist government.”
CIVIL RIGHTS UPDATE: Colorado House passes bill regulating semiautomatic firearms, banning ‘bump stocks.’
Opponents of the bill said that the measure would cost millions of dollars for local sheriff’s offices and Colorado Parks and Wildlife to administer the new requirements. Those requirements are one of the following:
• Complete a hunter education course certified by CPW and within five years of making the purchase, complete a basic firearms safety course
Within five years before making the purchase, complete an extended firearms safety course, or• Complete an extended firearms safety course more than five years before making the purchase and complete a basic firearms safety course within five years before making the purchase
• To make that happen, sheriff’s offices would be required to issue firearms safety course eligibility cards, with requirements for that card including completion of a fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
Gov. Jared Polis responded to the bill’s forward movement with a statement from his office.
“Governor Polis appreciates the sponsors working with our administration on amendments to help make Colorado safer while upholding our freedom and Colorado’s rich hunting and sport shooting culture and will review the final version of the bill,” a Colorado Governor’s Office spokesperson said. “Governor Polis remains focused on improving public safety including gun safety, additional funding for law enforcement and safer streets, and tougher penalties against theft of guns.”
Polis has been coy about whether he’d sign the bill but the only thing I imagine might stop him would be his presidential ambitions.
DOUBLING DOWN ON STUPID: ‘Fear and anger’: California town halls are not going well for Democrats, either.
California Democrats were lambasted at a series of town halls over the past week, with constituents demanding the party do more to stand up to billionaire Musk’s cuts to government services.
“I want to know why in the world the Democratic Party hasn’t fought yet?” asked one resident at a town hall Rep. Ro Khanna hosted in the Inland Empire on Sunday. Khanna, whose district includes Sunnyvale, Cupertino and Milpitas, hosted events in three Republican-held districts in the Central Valley and Orange County over the weekend. At each one, Politico said, Democrats “were unambiguously being put on blast.”
At a separate town hall in Orange County, hosted by freshman Democrat Rep. David Min on Thursday, over 1,000 people attended, including one resident who said it seemed like Democrats were “quietly sitting and doing nothing,” according to the OC Register. Min told the crowd that he feels “the same anxiety, fear and anger that so many of you expressed to me.”
Democratic Rep. Gil Cisneros made a similar comment during a fiery town hall in Los Angeles last week, telling his audience, “I’m on your side.” One resident had told Cisneros, “I just wish that the Democrats would match my anger and my fear,” the Los Angeles Times reported.
SFGate frames DOGE as cutting “services” instead of waste and graft, of course. But the big takeaway is that California Democrat voters have yet to hit bottom.

HOMESHORING: Hyundai unveils $21bn US expansion as Trump tariffs loom.
The plan includes a new $5.8bn steel plant in the southern state of Louisiana.
Hyundai also said it will expand its American vehicle production and invest billions of dollars in new technology including autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI).
“This investment is a clear demonstration that tariffs very strongly work,” Trump said during the event at the White House on Monday.
He added that more tariffs on vehicle imports are likely to be announced this week.Hyundai said the new steelmaking facility will produce more than 2.7 million metric tons of steel a year and create more than 1,400 jobs.
It is expected to make steel for Hyundai’s plants in Alabama and Georgia. The announcement also included plans to invest $9bn to boost the firm’s production in the US to 1.2 million vehicles a year by 2028.
Hyundai also said it had earmarked $6bn to expand partnerships with US firms to develop technologies including self-driving vehicles, robotics and AI.On Wednesday, Hyundai Motor is set to hold an opening ceremony for a new $7.59bn car and battery factory in Georgia.
It already has a manufacturing facility in Alabama and its affiliate Kia has a factory in Georgia.
When fully operational, the three plants will have capacity to make a million vehicles a year, the company said.
I had been told tariffs wouldn’t work.
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: I’m Waiting for the Jasmine Crockett/AOC Congressional Dumb-Off. “The Idiotic Loudmouth of the Democratic Party crown has been resting on the empty head of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the past six years. She can’t be happy that Crockett is getting all the press these days. Remember, most Dems are as shameless as Crockett and don’t think that the attention she’s getting is bad. I keep waiting for a Congressional catfight to break out between Squeaky and The Maw. Maybe the Democrats can win back some of the youth vote by staging it in an octagon and selling tickets.”
PUBLIC SCHOOL PREDATORS: LGBT Activist Teacher, Trans Husband House Minor Teen Girl In Colorado Against Mom’s Wishes.
JoAnn Smotherman, a former math teacher at Durango High School, took the teen, one of her students, into her Durango home in December when the girl left home after a fight with her mother. JoAnn is married to Vivian Smotherman, a trans-identifying man who ran for Colorado State Senate as a Democrat last year.
The teen’s mother, Cynthia Stein, has gone to the Smothermans’ home and attempted, unsuccessfully, to take back her daughter. She called in the police, but the officers who responded to the scene said they would not force the teen to go home, according to the police report and body cam footage of the incident obtained by The Daily Wire.
The situation is the culmination of months of outside influences on the vulnerable teen, her mother told The Daily Wire.
The 17-year-old girl has identified as a boy since the fall and now uses a unisex name. She has been diagnosed with autism, ADHD, an eating disorder, depression, and anxiety, according to medical records provided by her mother. At school, the teen was seeing a counselor, without her mother’s knowledge, who advised the girl to terminate parental notification and encouraged her to participate in LGBT support groups, her mother said.

D.D. HARRIMAN, CALL YOUR OFFICE: Crypto Tycoon Joins Forces With Elon Musk’s SpaceX To Launch First Private Space Station.
Cryptocurrency billionaire Jed McCaleb is spearheading an ambitious effort to build the world’s first privately developed space station and send it into Earth’s orbit. The story—he is prepared to risk $1 billion of his fortune to fund the mission.
McCaleb’s California-based aerospace startup Vast is at the center of the mission, closely collaborating with Elon Musk’s SpaceX on the expedition to replace NASA’s International Space Station, which is scheduled to be decommissioned by 2030.
Vast is assembling the module, just big enough to fit four people, using SpaceX-developed components, the report stated. Moreover, the company has booked SpaceX rockets to take its hardware into space and transfer its crew to the station.
Haven-1, the company’s space station, is tentatively scheduled to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in May 2026, after being pushed back from an original goal of August 2025.
They’d have more options for mass and circumferance if they waited for Starship to become available — but who wants to wait when you can have your private space station sooner rather than later?
