D.D. HARRIMAN, CALL YOUR OFFICE: Crypto Tycoon Joins Forces With Elon Musk’s SpaceX To Launch First Private Space Station.

Cryptocurrency billionaire Jed McCaleb is spearheading an ambitious effort to build the world’s first privately developed space station and send it into Earth’s orbit. The story—he is prepared to risk $1 billion of his fortune to fund the mission.

McCaleb’s California-based aerospace startup Vast is at the center of the mission, closely collaborating with Elon Musk’s SpaceX on the expedition to replace NASA’s International Space Station, which is scheduled to be decommissioned by 2030.

Vast is assembling the module, just big enough to fit four people, using SpaceX-developed components, the report stated. Moreover, the company has booked SpaceX rockets to take its hardware into space and transfer its crew to the station.

Haven-1, the company’s space station, is tentatively scheduled to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in May 2026, after being pushed back from an original goal of August 2025.

They’d have more options for mass and circumferance if they waited for Starship to become available — but who wants to wait when you can have your private space station sooner rather than later?

ICYMI: Hamas Keeps Getting Deader. “One good way to tell if your effort to eliminate your enemy’s leadership is going well is if you blow up their new defacto prime minister before his people have had a chance to learn that the old prime minister had been blown up, too.”

IT’S ALMOST AS THOUGH THEY WERE JUICING THE NUMBERS TO HELP GET HARRIS ELECTED:

“BACK-TO-BACK” LAUNCHES IS THE 21ST CENTURY I’D BEEN HOPING FOR: NRO expands spy satellite network with back-to-back SpaceX launches. “‘Over the past two years, NRO has launched more than 150 satellites, creating the largest and most capable government constellation on orbit in our nation’s history,’ the NRO said in a statement. ‘Continuing with this momentum, 2025 is set to be another dynamic year, with approximately one dozen NRO launches scheduled.'”

CHECKS OUT:

I’d never even considered an EV before lefties started setting fire to them.

ANALYSIS: TRUE.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE, MOVE ALONG: Judge who blocked Trump deportations took junket to event with anti-Trump speakers, sponsor.

Boasberg was one of nine Democrat-appointed judges and three Trump nominated jurists to attend the conference in ritzy Sun Valley, where two of the four sessions were titled “Role of Judges in a Democracy” and the “State of Democracy,” the report shows.

Called a “Privately Funded Seminar Disclosure Report,” the document discloses that Boasberg was in attendance, but offers no details of whether Boasberg was paid for his attendance or travel, or what the remuneration was.

Overseen by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the ethical rules governing federal judges require that a private entity who “issues an invitation to a federal judge to attend an educational program as a speaker, panelist, or attendee and offers to pay for or reimburse that judge, in excess of $480, must disclose financial and programmatic information.” The rules do not require a specific accounting for each judge, or even how much was paid to judges at all.

Maybe that needs to change.

THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO SHOW UP: With No Immigration, US Population Will Fall Over 30% by 2100.

In its main case, which the Census Bureau considers the most likely scenario, the U.S. population is projected to increase slowly from its current level of about 338 million to 369 million by 2080, with an average annual growth rate of 0.0163%. This scenario assumes that the U.S. will allow approximately 1 million immigrants to enter the country each year.

In the high case, which assumes approximately 1.5 million new immigrants each year, the population continues to grow for the remainder of the century, reaching 435 million by 2100. That represents an annual growth rate of approximately 0.033%. However, it is important to note that the growth rate gradually declines over that period and approaches zero by the end of the century.

In the low case, which assumes about 500,000 new immigrants each year, the population peaks in 2043 at just under 346 million, representing a 2.8% increase from the current population. By the end of the century, the population will fall to 319 million, a 5% drop.

But the scenario that really caught my attention was the zero immigration projection. In this scenario, the U.S. population is projected to have already peaked and will decline by over 30% by 2100, reaching approximately 225 million. That is approximately the U.S. population in 1980. After 2040, the population is expected to decline by approximately 1 million residents annually. By the end of the century, the loss is estimated to be over 2 million annually.

Is anybody seriously talking about zero immigration? In any case, even the more realistic forecasts are no justification for opening up the border to traffickers, terrorists, and other criminals.

WELL, YES: Plaintiffs Challenging Trump’s DEI Order Are Trying To Game The Judicial System.

On February 21, 2024, Judge Adam Abelson, a Joe Biden appointee, entered a preliminary injunction in favor of the plaintiffs. In that injunction, Judge Abelson held the Trump Administration could not “pause, freeze, impede, block, cancel, or terminate any awards, contracts or obligations . . . or change the terms of any Current Obligation,” based on the anti-DEI executive orders. The preliminary injunction further prohibited the Trump Administration from requiring any recipient of federal funds to certify in a grant or contract “that it does not operate any programs promoting DEI that violate any applicable Federal antidiscrimination laws.” Finally, the court enjoined the Trump Administration from taking any enforcement actions against grantees who maintain DEI programs in violation of the certification.

Judge Abelson later clarified that his preliminary injunction applied broadly and beyond the named defendants: The preliminary injunction applies to and binds all “federal executive branch agencies, departments, and commissions, and their heads, officers, agents, and subdivisions,” the court explained in a supplemental order earlier this month.

The Trump Administration promptly appealed the preliminary injunction while simultaneously seeking a stay from Judge Abelson and from the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Abelson refused to stay the preliminary injunction but on March 14, 2024, the Fourth Circuit granted the stay, stating, “we agree with the government that it has satisfied the factors for a stay under Nken v. Holder . . .”

The stay of the lower court’s injunction means that the Trump Administration can continue to implement the president’s executive orders by terminating DEI grants, mandating contractors and grantees certify they will not violate federal anti-discrimination law with DEI programs, and enforcing those certifications. The stay, however, means much more: It means that the Trump Administration is very likely to win on appeal.

Read the whole thing — and I hope Glenn weighs in on this soon.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: 2024’s Big Message — The Kids Are All Right. “Countless articles have been written in the past couple of months — some of them by me — about the sorry state of the Democratic Party here in the year of our Lord 2025. It’s not just that they lost to the man who haunted their dreams and every waking moment, it’s how they lost. Coming to grips with that is at the heart of their confusion.”

JOANNE JACOBS: Academia tilts very far to the left: Restoring balance won’t be easy.

“In most disciplines there aren’t enough conservative PhDs to staff ideologically balanced campuses, or even provide otherwise left-leaning campuses a vibrant conservative counterweight,” writes McArdle. That won’t change quickly.

To rebuild the pipeline, potential graduate students with right-of-center views would have to be persuaded that their qualifications and publications would be judged fairly by progressives, she writes. They’d have to believe they wouldn’t have to “run an ideological gauntlet” to advance or be excluded by colleagues if they ever got a job.

McArdle imagines affirmative action for conservative students and professors. “Training left-wing faculty on conservative thought, so they won’t accidentally say something offense, a campus center for conservatives to relax and bond, pro-life and MAGA scholarships and a “plus factor” for conservative applicants could help restore balance.

Cutting off the taxpayer dollars funding lefty departments helps, too. When all the money goes to one side, so do the people.

UGH: Deja Vu: Georgia Woman Murdered. Guess Who Did It? “It didn’t take too long for police to find the suspect. Twenty-one-year-old Hector David Sagastume Rivas is currently charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. Oh yeah, and he’s not even supposed to be in the country.”

CORN, POPPED: Gird Yer Loins: Progs Schedule April 5 as Nationwide ‘Day of Stompy Feet and Waah.’

For once, they’ve decided to have their mass gathering on a Saturday and not disrupt productive citizens from getting to and from productive jobs. This way, they only jack up hard-working Americans one day to chill out.

I guess we can take that as a win. It all depends on whether the participants can behave or not.

The progs have a long list of supposed sins to chant and wave their tiny fists in the air about in any number of cities across the country, large and small, where there are supposedly scheduled gatherings of vermin, including my own fair burg.

Exit question: This is kind of a last-minute deal so will there be time to make the giant papier-mâché puppet heads?

ROBERT SPENCER: Good News! The New York Times Has Found Its Candidate for 2028! “On Sunday, the New York Times picked its candidate (at least for now): it rolled out a puff piece over 1,500 words long, complete with flattering photos of the anointed candidate and earnest analysis of why she was the right choice for right-thinking people — that is, for the Times, left-thinking people. The choice of the moment for the New York Times is none other than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Swizzle Stick).”

FOLLOW THE MONEY: Is This the Real Reason the Left Is Freaking Out About the Department of Education?

The NEA sent $420,000 to Sixteen Thirty Fund, between 2019 and 2021, for example. Sixteen Thirty Fund, one of the nonprofits established by the for-profit company Arabella Advisors, helped fund other activist groups that staffed and advised the Biden administration.

It also funded the Center for American Progress, which fed more than 60 leaders and staff into the Biden administration, and the Human Rights Campaign, which demanded the administration implement a laundry list of LGBTQ+ priorities. (By my count, the Biden administration implemented 75% of HRC’s demands.)

The American Federation of Teachers gave $840,000 to Sixteen Thirty Fund from 2020 to 2023, $75,000 to the Center for American Progress in 2019 and $100,000 to Center for American Progress Action in 2023, among others.

It’s grift, all the way down.

PUBLIUS:

Imagine for a second that an organization existed that carefully and deliberately planned and executed the firebombing and destruction of a certain brand of automobiles and its dealerships, and the support infrastructure for that brand, with the purpose of such attacks being to extort others into silence and submission.

Back in the day we would have considered that a criminal conspiracy (in all likelihood under RICO laws), and we would have arrested and prosecuted the leaders of that rogue, terrorist organization.

Guess what? You don’t have to imagine. That organization exists today and it’s called the “Democrat Party.”

It’s (D)ifferent when they do it.
