EXCLUSIVE: Nat Sec Watchdog Wants Trump HHS To Make Good On Records Request Biden Admin Ignored.

A new lawsuit seeks to uncover what exactly happened to the thousands of migrant children who went missing or were otherwise placed in poorly-vetted homes across the country during the Biden administration’s U.S-Mexico border crisis.

The Center to Advance Security in America (CASA), a national security watchdog, is demanding the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) finally comply with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request it lodged against the Biden administration months ago, according to court documents exclusively shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation. The lawsuit comes as the Trump White House has taken great strides in correcting the illegal immigration crisis that emerged under the Biden administration.

“Given whistleblower allegations that the Biden administration lost at least 85,000 unaccompanied alien children who were given to poorly vetted sponsors, the American public is rightly concerned about the children’s safety and the various contractors involved in administering their placement,” CASA Director James Fitzpatrick said to the DCNF.

“This lawsuit will bring transparency to the shrouded Biden ORR [Office of Refugee Resettlement] award process, the many contractors and grantees involved, and the billions of taxpayer dollars spent,” Fitzpatrick continued.

Let the sunshine in — and a perp walk or three for trafficking wouldn’t hurt, either.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: The Turnaround in Federal Law Enforcement Under Trump Has Been Dizzying. “The Federal Bureau of Investigation was turned into Joe Biden’s personal goon squad and focused much of its effort on going after Americans whose only crime was being the administration’s political opposites. Oh, the FBI was also energetic about perpetuating the Democrats’ sick J6 fetish.”

THE NEW SPACE RACE: As NASA faces cuts, China reveals ambitious plans for planetary exploration.

Space journalist Andrew Jones, who tracks China’s space program, shared some images with a few details. Among the planned missions are:

2028: Tianwen-3 mission to collect samples of Martian soil and rocks and return them to Earth
2029: Tianwen-4 mission to explore Jupiter and its moon Callisto
2030: Development of a large, ground-based habitat to simulate long-duration human spaceflight
2033: Mission to Venus that will return samples of its atmosphere to Earth
2038: Establishment of an autonomous Mars research station to study in-situ resource utilization
2039: Mission to Triton, Neptune’s largest moon, with a subsurface explorer for its ocean

It would be easy to dismiss these plans as fanciful, and indeed, only the first two missions have been formally approved by China’s central government. Some of the concepts are tremendously exciting, but others appear unrealistic. For example, it is unknown how thick Triton’s ice shell is, and designing a probe to burn through that ice to reach the ocean would be extremely challenging.

Nonetheless, this scope of missions reveals that China is planning to conduct an extensive program to explore Mars and beyond, something that has almost (but not completely) exclusively been the province of NASA historically.

They’re certainly ambitious.

UPDATE (FROM GLENN): Comparing China to NASA kind of misses the point, when we have SpaceX.

PROMISES KEPT: Rubio says at least 300 foreign students’ visas have been revoked.

“Maybe more, it might be more than 300 at this point,” Rubio said at a press conference in Guyana when asked to confirm Axios reporting on the topic.

“We do it every day. Every time I find one of these lunatics, I take away their visa,” he added, saying he hopes it’s even more than the 300 estimate.

“I hope at some point we run out because we have gotten rid of all of them, but we’re looking every day for these lunatics that are tearing things up.”

The Hill does its best to frame this as bad news but this longer quote on Rumeysa Ozturk, the Turkish student who was detained, tells a much better story:

“We revoked her visa. It’s an F-1 visa, I believe. We revoked it, and here’s why—I’ve said it everywhere, and I’ll say it again.

Let me be abundantly clear: If you apply for a student visa to come to the United States and you say you’re coming not just to study, but to participate in movements that vandalize universities, harass students, take over buildings, and cause chaos—we’re not giving you that visa.

If you lie, get the visa, and then engage in that kind of behavior once you’re here, we’re going to revoke it. And once your visa is revoked, you’re no longer legally in the United States. Like every country, we have the right to remove you. It’s that simple.

It’s crazy—stupid, even—for any country to let people in who say, ‘I’m going to your universities to riot, take over libraries, and harass people.’ I don’t care what movement you’re with. Why would any country allow that?

We gave you a visa to study and earn a degree—not to become a social activist tearing up our campuses. If you use your visa to do that, we’ll take it away. And I encourage every country to do the same.

Every country has the right to decide who enters as a visitor. If you invite me to your house for dinner and I start putting mud on your couch and spray-painting your kitchen, you’re going to kick me out. We’ll do the same if you come to the U.S. and cause a ruckus.

We don’t want that here. Go do it in your own country—but not in ours.”

America looking after America’s interests… imagine that.

AN IMPORTANT REMINDER FROM SCOTT PRESLER:

“WE HAVE NO PLAN, WE HAVE A GOOD LIKELIHOOD IT’S GOING TO GET WORSE” DOESN’T MAKE ME WANT TO GIVE ANYONE A SINGLE DOLLAR, MUCH LESS SEVEN BILLION OF THEM:

IT’S NICE TO CATCH A BREAK ON PROCUREMENT FOR A CHANGE: B-21 ‘Bomber on a Budget.’ “One of the most overlooked insights from the recent Air Force budgets is that the B-21 program is proving a new business case by keeping costs under control. During the 2025 budget cycle, smooth progress on the production line enabled the Air Force to negotiate lower rates for the B-21 bombers now in production. The Air Force trimmed about $1 billion off the B-21 program’s cost for Fiscal Year 2025 alone and bagged additional savings for future years.”

GREAT MOMENTS IN CHEATING:

THE DEEP STATE: Biden’s Civil Rights Commission Chair Digs in Her Heels. “Garza is one of those perennial candidates on the Democratic side in Texas who loses her races, but Biden appointed her as chair in 2023. Now that she has a seat in government, she won’t let it go.”

ANALYSIS: TRUE.

FAIL, BRITANNIA: Spice Girls latest victims of woke censorship as iconic ’90s song has ‘offensive’ lyric removed by BBC and other stations. “The censorship comes despite no apparent public calls for the change to the track, which was one of the biggest-selling girl group’s top five best-selling songs.”

Of course there was no public call to censor an innocent line in a silly song. But bossy busibodies have to keep themselves busy with something.

K-12 IMPLOSION UPDATE: Seattle is losing top students: ‘We don’t serve their needs.’

“What we are doing in Seattle public schools is we’re disappearing our top students in math,” says David Evans, a middle-school math teacher.

The district’s plan to close schools for “highly capable” students has pushed families out of the system, charges Danny Westneat, a Seattle Times columnist. That plan is now on hold for three years, but the pause came too late, he writes.
…
Laura Rose Murphy’s son qualified for advanced instruction in math, but hasn’t received it, she said. “His teacher is great, but she says she has zero support from the district in how to help my son access appropriate-level learning — no resources, no training, no funding, and they don’t even tell her who has qualified or how they qualified.”

Fewer students are taking advanced or accelerated math in middle school over the last nine years, said Evans. He’s helping more families fill out applications for private schools. “They’re leaving because we don’t serve their needs,” he said.

Well, they don’t.

UNEXPECTED HEADLINES: California’s a Trailblazer Again, Fields Baseball’s First Homeless Team. “On Thursday, the Seattle Mariners will kick off their 2025 season with a game at home against ‘the Athletics.’ Not the Oakland Athletics, although the team’s ignominious abandonment of its home since 1968 is still so recent that its season schedule page at MLB.com still carries an ad that tries to entice you to visit lovely Oakland.”

In a perfect world, there would be no need for tariffs. But it’s shocking news to some people that we do not live in a perfect world, and tariffs can be useful for protecting vital industries, steering trade away from hostile, rival, or s***hole countries, and protecting US wages.
