Rolling Stone magazine is a joke. Its editorial slant is always far Left, and it has been busted more than once for unethical reporting.

There was its infamous Duke Lacrosse case, which resulted in the magazine settling a lawsuit . Then, last year, Rolling Stone Editor-in-Chief Noah Shachtman was accused of omitting a key fact from a story — namely, that a journalist had been raided not due to government overreach, but as part of a federal investigation into child pornography.

Then there was the story about Oklahoma hospitals allegedly being overwhelmed by patients who the magazine claimed overdosed on the drug ivermectin to treat COVID-19. The story was garbage, with even the Washington Post writing the “bogus” story “was just too good to check.” (Full disclosure: Rolling Stone has also taken a few whacks at me.)

Now the magazine is criticizing “Rich Men North of Richmond,” the country song by Oliver Anthony that went supernova last week. The song is a lament about low wages and political corruption. But according to Rolling Stone, the song “is a passionate screed against the state of the country and right-wing influencers are very into it.” Reporter Joseph Hudak argues that the reason the song “is appealing to right-wing influencers” is that it “wades into some Reagan-era talking points about welfare” and even makes a reference to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his infamous island.

It’s a ridiculous take on a powerful and complex song. Like all other mainstream journalistic institutions, Rolling Stone has collapsed. Ideology has eroded creativity and critical thinking.

It’s a shame because Rolling Stone was once great — a magazine whose business model was one that modern conservatives would do well to emulate.

To be fair, Tom Wolfe, P.J. O’Rourke, and Hunter S. Thompson left the building a very long time ago.

In addition to every danger just listed above, it is also a strategic dialectical operation designed to poke the bear into reacting. They didn’t get a big MAGA / hillbilly / (Christian) conservative reaction from the drag queens, so they’ll get it by going after Trump.

If they can provoke the American people, or a contingent of them, into believing this is a truly lost-cause, revolutionary moment, they can provoke a second J6-style reaction (watch who in Trump’s camp/orbit calls for this too) that reifies the J6 narrative and demands action.

I’ll be accused (watch who does it! LOL) of telling people to stand by and do nothing while our system is destroyed by pointing out this operation too. Just watch. Provocateurs everywhere, on both sides. I’m not calling for inaction but for judicious action, so, still action.

It is incumbent upon us to make it the general consensus of the movement/population (or whatever is relevant) that these dangerous provocations are not acceptable AND understood for what they are as provocations, the bait of which we will not take. That’s how they’re beaten.

GREAT MOMENTS IN GANGSTER GOVERNMENT: Cops raid small Kansas newspaper in a disturbing attack on the free press.

Well, this is alarming. Local police recently raided a small Kansas newspaper, the Marion-County Ledger, in an incident that’s prompting warnings from free speech watchdogs.

On Friday, police raided the newspaper’s office, collecting computers, cellphones, and other data. They also raided the home of the paper’s 98-year-old co-founder, Joan Meyer, who was placed under tremendous stress and then died just a day later. (Her family suspects a connection between the stress and her death, but whether the two are directly related is currently unknown).

The Marion County Police Department said their raid was justified as part of an investigation into whether the paper had illegally obtained a document in its reporting on a local business owner. But to engage in this kind of raid as part of this kind of investigation is extraordinarily unusual, according to the nonpartisan Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE).

SOROS-BACKED CALIF. DA FACING RECALL, CHARGES OF NEPOTISM:

The process to recall a progressive, George Soros-backed district attorney in Alameda County, California, became official Tuesday amid new accusations that Pamela Price hired her boyfriend — without disclosing the relationship — to a six-figure position.

Price took $130,000 from Soros in a failed run to the DA’s office in 2018. She narrowly won election to become DA last year, but now a failed seven-month tenure that features a vicious rise in crime, especially in Oakland, has a group poised to remove her as DA.

“Save Alameda for Everyone” (SAFE) on Tuesday submitted 127 signatures to officially file a notice of intent with the county to recall Price, who ran on a platform to transform the justice system, which also goes by the progressive tenet of soft on crime.

“As crime spirals out of control on Alameda County streets, DA Price reduces sentencing for criminals and even refuses to charge violent felons with crimes,” SAFE said in a statement on Tuesday.

Homicides in Oakland, the county’s largest city, are up 80% vs. pre-pandemic numbers, according to the Oakland Police Department, and violent crime is up 15% year over year under Price.

In 2011, when Michael Oher published his first memoir, “I Beat the Odds,” he stated directly that the Tuohys secured a conservatorship when he was a senior in high school. Oher wrote that his mother participated in the procedures necessary for the Tuohys to become conservators.

Many conservatives have made an uneasy peace with this transformation of values, even as the culture around them has, in many places, collapsed.

This attitude no longer suffices. It is time to break the loop of 1968. We need a counterrevolution.

This is the word that haunts the revolutionary mind. The French Revolution fell to the forces of Thermidor; the Revolution of 1848 fell to the empire of the bourgeoisie; the Bolshevik Revolution fell to the democratic-capitalists, the imperialist-backed juntas, and the forces of global capitalism. Marx himself viewed counterrevolution as an overwhelming threat. “Every important part of the revolutionary annals from 1848 to 1849 bears the heading: Defeat of the revolution!” he lamented.

The urgent task for the political Right today is to comprehend the dynamics of revolution and counterrevolution and to create a strategy for dislodging the New Left ideology of 1968, which has solidified control over the most fundamental structures of American society. The challenge must be met not solely in the realm of policy debate but on the deepest political and philosophical grounds.

Disney’s new “Snow White” Rachel Zegler got slammed on social media by Daily Wire host Matt Walsh and others as she continued bashing the original film in another resurfaced video in which she claimed the Prince was a “stalker.”

In the video that resurfaced on X over the weekend, the 22-year-old actress said “I mean, you know, the original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird. So we didn’t do that this time.”

“We have a different approach to, what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story, just because we cast a guy in the movie, Andrew Burnap, great dude,” she added. “It’s one of those things that I think everyone’s going to have their assumptions about what it’s going to be, but it’s really not about the love story at all, which is really, really wonderful.”

Walsh posted a message on X to his 2.4 million followers in response, “Disney is trying a really interesting marketing strategy where the star of the new ‘Snow White’ spends a year before the movie’s release publicly talking about how much she despises Snow White.”

I must confess, I often forget Rolling Stone magazine still exists. Once the zeitgeist-surfing Holy Writ of American counter-culture, it hosted the pioneering writers of the boomer generation: Tom Wolfe, Lester Bangs, P.J. O’Rourke, Hunter S. Thompson. Even as recently as 2020 the magazine boasted accomplished journalists such as Matt Taibbi. But over five decades, the magazine withdrew into the Establishment, just as their boomer readers did. And every now and then the Rolling Stone’s pale cadaver makes a misjudged groaning gasp for life, if only to remind us it’s not quite dead.

The rag mustered one such gasp this weekend. Oliver Anthony, a blue-collar mountain man, went from Appalachian nobody to chart-topping national treasure in no-seconds-flat — or, to be precise, forty-eight hours. A stirring video of him singing his raw original tune “Rich Men North of Richmond” — that decries the powers that be in DC, elite pedophiles and the plight of ordinary working Americans — has resonated like a national guitar with music-loving Americans starved for something authentic.

The working-class factory-worker sings “Republicans and Democrats, Lord I swear they’re all just full of crap” on his song “Doggonit,” like a character from Hillbilly Elegy making a desperate howl at the flyover sky. Seven years on from 2016, the Rust Belt is still rusting, forgotten by establishment and populist politicians alike. And that desperation has found a voice. Four of Anthony’s songs are in the iTunes top ten, including all the top three. The counterculture has a fresh face — and it wears a shaggy red beard.

By no means am I a fan of Hirono as I think she’s one of the worst politicians in America (and certainly one of the most vapid), but calling her a man is a bit harsh. Jean-Pierre’s flubs make it seem like she did zero leg work, and in turn, that makes it seem as if the administration isn’t taking the situation seriously. Rather, it’s just an inconvenient speed bump in the middle of the president’s current vacation schedule.

Honestly, how hard is it to double-check one’s briefing notes before giving a statement to ensure proper pronunciation given the sensitive nature of the topic? Apparently, it’s as hard as Joe Biden answering a question about the Maui fire without appearing like a cold-hearted sociopath. This administration certainly has its characters, and none of them are especially good at their jobs. That’s been a running theme for a White House which campaigned on putting the “adults back in the room.” If these are the adults, then let’s reinstate the daycare.

What is even the strategy here? Is Biden this uncontrollable and his comms department this incompetent? Or is the White House full of people that are so arrogant that they don’t even worry about optics anymore? It’s probably a bit of both when you consider all angles.

They know the DNC-MSM will ignore all of their gaffes, including Biden’s aloof and wildly inappropriate “no comment” line when asked about the Maui fire, and they know that Hawaii is a reliably Democrat state at election time, so why even bother trying?

Remember how President Joe Biden and his ilk have blathered on and on about the so-called “gender pay gap” that supposedly forces oppressed, subservient American women into making mere pennies for every whopping paycheck their male coworkers get?

Turns out that on top of not actually being true, it also doesn’t seem to be a major concern for the Biden White House beyond being a convenient political talking point – because according to this, the women-supporting Biden Administration pays female staffers on average about $0.80 for every dollar a male employee makes.

Which, if you’re keeping track, is even less than the 83 cents leftists complain women make compared to every dollar earned by a man.

Per the White House payroll data analyzed by Mark Perry, an economist and senior fellow emeritus at the American Enterprise Institute, the median salary for women in 2023 was just $84,000, while the median salary for men was $105,000. Which, regardless of any legitimate reason for the discrepancy, we’ve been told is a major no-no, and is supersexist.
