ESQUIRE DELETES FALSE GEORGE BUSH PARDON STORY AFTER LIBERAL COLUMNIST MAKES MAJOR ERROR:

Esquire writer told people to ‘shut the f— up’ about Hunter Biden pardon by comparing to non-existent Bush pardon of his son Neil.

Esquire has deleted a column that used a false claim about former President George H.W. Bush as the basis to justify President Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter.

In a Tuesday column, liberal pundit Charles P. Pierce claimed that Hunter Biden was not the first presidential son caught up in controversy, asking readers, “Anybody Remember Neil Bush?”

“Nobody defines Poppy Bush’s presidency by his son’s struggles or the pardons he issued on his way out of the White House. The moral: Shut the f— up about Hunter Biden, please,” he wrote in the sub-headline.

“[The] lucky American businessman[‘s]… father exercised his unlimited constitutional power of clemency to pardon the Lucky American Businessman for all that S&L business way back when. The president’s name was George H.W. Bush. The Lucky American Businessman was his son, Neil,” Pierce continued.

The only problem? Bush never pardoned his son.

The men’s magazine later added an editor’s note to the column: “An earlier version stated incorrectly that George H.W. Bush gave a presidential pardon to his son, Neil Bush. Esquire regrets the error.”

Sometime later, the piece was removed. The link now takes readers to a page that says, “This Column is No Longer Available.”

The page also includes a second editor’s note that notes the column was “removed due to an error” and “Esquire regrets the mistake.”

The internet proved to be a cruel mistress,” RedState’s Bob Hoge adds:

Flashback: “If she had lived, Mary Jo Kopechne would be 62 years old. Through his tireless work as a legislator, Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age.”

THE CRITICAL DRINKER: The Snow White Trailer Will Traumatise You For Life (Video).

As John Nolte adds: 215K Downvotes to Only 17K Upvotes for Disney’s Latest ‘Snow White’ Trailer.

The movie stars Rachel “The Mouthy Unibrow” Zegler as Snow White, an actress who has spent an inordinate amount of time smugly trashing the beloved original animated classic instead of promoting her own.

Zegler is a walking public relations disaster, a poster-chick for why there used to a studio system.

“It’s no longer 1937,” the actress smugly declared at one point. “She’s not gonna be saved by the prince, and she’s not gonna be dreaming about true love,” The Mouth Unibrow added. “She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be, and the leader her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true.”

If that wasn’t bad enough, after Donald Trump won reelection last month, Zegler showed her true hateful self on Instagram. “Fuck you Donald Trump,” she screeched and then complained about the “deep, deep sickness in this country.”

She then wrote: “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”

She later apologized, but no one believes she did so of her own volition. The groomers at Disney have a reported $350 million invested in this Snow White turd. Having their lead actress wish a terrible curse on more than half the country is no way to sell a movie that is already seen as a joke. Already Disney had to move the release date from the summer of 2024 to March of 2025 because of The Mouthy Unibrow.

To be fair to The Mouthy Unibrow, though, it wasn’t all her fault. For some ludicrous reason only a woketard could come up with, it was decided that the remake of a movie called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs would not feature any … uhm …dwarfs. Instead there would be seven “magical beings,” who looked like the cast from Rent.

Nolte’s post went up this morning; as of mid-afternoon today, those numbers have only gotten worse:

퍼시픽 림 바나나 리퍼블릭: South Korea’s president Yoon could face severe consequences for his martial law stunt.

What this brief but extraordinary episode amounted to was a deployment of troops to the parliament building to bar the entrance of lawmakers. That operation failed utterly, as protesters were quickly on the scene to take on the military, in some cases with fire extinguishers, and facilitate the entrance of the representatives. And 190 lawmakers made it in, every single one of whom then voted for the suspension of the martial law decree (including nineteen members of Yoon’s own People Power Party — or PPP). A few hours later President (at the time of writing) Yoon rescinded it.

What now? The next step would seem to be the impeachment of Yoon, which a coalition of lawmakers from six opposition parties have called for today and which could be voted on within seventy-two hours. Lawmaker Hwang Un-ha summed up the mood when he told reporters that “the parliament should focus on immediately suspending the president’s business to pass an impeachment bill,” while the leader of Yoon’s PPP has called for defense minister Kim Yong-hyun to be fired and for the entire cabinet to resign.

But it could get worse than that for Yoon, and any others who were party to the decision to issue the decree — who that might be currently remains unclear. A senior member of the opposition party Park Chan-dae said that “even if martial law is lifted, he cannot avoid treason charges.”

Yoon will be lucky to escape jail. He can be impeached by the National Assembly if more than two-thirds of lawmakers vote for it. Yoon’s party controls 108 seats in the 300-member legislature but how many, if any, remain loyal to him is unclear. Yoon would then face trial at the constitutional court, which can seal his fate with a vote by six of the nine justices. In that event, or if he chose to resign, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo would act as interim leader until a new election, which would have to be held within sixty days.

Back in April, the Politico, feverishly hoping that Trump would join them, noted that “South Korea has already convicted its fair share of former presidents. Three of the last four presidents were investigated by prosecutors over the span of a decade. Roh Moo-hyun, from the liberal party, died of suicide while he and his close circle were investigated for bribery. Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye were convicted and sentenced to prison over bribery and abuse of power. Yoon Suk Yeol, the current president of South Korea, played a key role in the indictment of Park Geun-hye as prosecutor general at the time, and his achievement catapulted him to the stardom he needed to run for the presidency.”

DEVELOPING: Head of America’s biggest health insurer shot dead in ‘targeted attack’ outside investor meeting.

The head of America’s biggest health insurer has been killed in an early morning shooting outside an investor meeting in New York.

UnitedHealthcare chief executive Brian Thompson, 50, was shot outside the Hilton Hotel, where the company’s investor conference was being held.

Police said Mr Thompson had been rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

United Healthcare is the health insurance subsidiary of United Health Group, one of America’s biggest healthcare companies.

According to the New York Post, police said the event appeared to be a targeted attack.

Mr Thompson was shot at around 6:45am. The suspect, described as wearing a cream-coloured jacket, a black face mask and a grey backpack, fled on a bicycle.

“No arrests have been made in connection with the attack,” the Telegraph reports.

ACE OF SPADES: The Hunter Biden Pardon Has Stripped Bare the Democrats’ Years-Long Preening About How They’re the Party That “Respects the Rule of Law.”

SCOTT JENNINGS: Listen, you guys can spend all day long trying to spin this, that this is Donald Trump’s fault, that this is somehow caused by Donald Trump.

“Oh, he’s appointing the wrong people. Oh, he did it.” This is the worst possible thing a president could possibly do to his party and to the country. To sit for a year and say, “I will not do this. I will not do this. The rule of law is sacred. We have to respect the justice system, juries. We have to respect juries. We have to respect the guardrails and the norms of our democracy.” These people are liars.

“Inflation is transitory. Afghanistan is a success. The border is secure. Robert Hur is a liar. The videos are cheap fakes. Biden has a cold. He’ll never drop out. Oh, I’ll never pardon Hunter.” It’s all a lie. It is all a grift. Every American except the most partisan brain-rotted people are going to be outraged by this today.

He is going to leave office–you think 38-39% job approval is bad? Just you wait. Just you wait. He’s disgraced, disgraced today. Outrageous.

NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd tore into President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden after the president issued a pardon on Sunday to their son, Hunter Biden, who was facing possible prison time over gun and tax crimes.

In a discussion with journalist Chris Cillizza, Todd said he knew “100%” the pardon was going to happen and insisted President Biden “needs therapy” because he has “not processed” the death of his older son, former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, who passed away of brain cancer at the age of 46 in 2015.

If Todd knew “100%” the pardon was going to happen,” why was he berating Republican guests who brought up Hunter’s nasty habits?

Washington Free Beacon investigative reporter Chuck Ross pointed out an interview with Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) on NBC’s “Meet The Press” early last year in which Todd “went to the mat” for Hunter Biden when the first son was under investigation but had not yet been charged with any crimes.

“Senator, do you have a crime that you think Hunter Biden committed because I’ve yet to see anybody explain. It is not a crime to make money off of your last name,” Todd said at one point. At another, he said, “Look, you can go back on your partisan cable cocoon and talk about media bias all you want. I understand it’s part of your identity.”

Todd isn’t mad at Joe and Hunter. Todd is mad because he’s a former Democratic Party operative who for years feigned at being an above it all political “ref” (his word) and pretended that was no liberal bias in old media, and has finally been exposed as just another Democratic Party operative with a byline.

NEWS YOU CAN USE? Nine helpful tips for elderly fathers of adult criminals — The Biden Guide to Loving Your Boy:

7) Stay out of sibling drama

There will inevitably come a time in every father’s life when one of your crackhead sons starts cheating on his wife with his dead brother’s widow. Don’t get involved. If a bunch of scumbag reporters keep asking for comment, give them a generic statement about how “we’re all lucky” the two lovebirds “found each other as they were putting their lives together again after such sadness.” Remember, trying to insert yourself in some messy family drama is an unwelcome distraction from your own ambitions, presidential or otherwise.

8) Let him know your door is always open

If your son needs a place to crash, he should always feel welcome at your place of residence. If you happen to live in a heavily fortified location such as the White House, letting your son stay is a great way to help him avoid being served legal documents related to an ongoing paternity suit, for example. Your fatherly hospitality needn’t be unconditional, so set some ground rules. “Don’t leave drugs in the tourist section” is a good place to start.

9) Encourage him to express his feelings

Boys are often discouraged from showing emotion. A good father will always make his son feel comfortable expressing his feelings. For example, your son might be hesitant to discuss the “body dysmorphia” he suffers due to his “very large penis.” You should encourage him to talk about it. There will be times he lashes out at your wife, who may or may not refer to herself as a doctor for some reason, by calling her a “selfish silly entitled c—t” and a “vindictive moron” who “wouldn’t survive one class in a[n] ivy graduate program.” Let him vent. What are you going to do about it anyway? Punish him? That’s not very Biden.

Why, it’s as if: Joe Biden was never a wonderful guy, and definitely not the savior of democracy, no matter what his media supporters said.

TYLER O’NEIL: Supreme Court Case Exposes Medical Scandal of Epic Proportions.

It’s hard to wrap your head around just how grotesque it is that many medical associations and the federal government have adopted the idea that it’s healthy to sterilize children in an attempt to “affirm” a stated transgender identity. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court will shed much-needed sunlight on this medical scandal of epic proportions.

Tennessee Solicitor General Matt Rice will explain how activists conspired to flip the Hippocratic Oath on its head. Meanwhile, U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar and American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Chase Strangio—a female who says he identifies as male—will argue that Tennessee’s law banning Frankensteinian medical experiments on kids violates federal law by discriminating on the basis of sex.

The Supreme Court is hearing the case because of this discrimination argument. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit upheld Tennessee’s law, finding that it doesn’t entail discrimination. But the Biden-Harris administration appealed that decision, and the Supreme Court took up the case—now known as U.S. v. Skrmetti after Jonathan Skrmetti, the Republican attorney general of Tennessee.

I will briefly address the logic behind the pro-transgender case, then explain the medical scandal that will emerge in Wednesday’s oral arguments.

ACE OF SPADES: Trump Nominates Revealer of the Russiagate Psyop Kash Patel to be New Director of the FBI.

Patel is a solid, sensible man who has been on the right side of every single Deep State op and hoax.

That means they will stop at nothing to block him.

* * * * * * * *

Unfortunately, the head of the FBI is considered a cabinet-level posting and Trump will need Senate approval to confirm Patel.

I don’t think he’ll get it, unfortunately[.]

Related: Matt Taibbi’s “Note on the FBI:”

When I heard Kash Patel had been tabbed by Donald Trump to run the FBI, I could already imagine the pushback and moved immediately to start the just-published article “The Bell Finally Tolls for the FBI” piece. The thought was that the role Patel played in preparing the “Nunes memo” was both the clearest example of media corruption from Trump’s first term and also the most easily demonstrated episode of FBI malfeasance. Since I had to spend an unnatural amount of time on the topic over the years (it even intersected with the Twitter Files and Hamilton 68) I quickly found myself in the weeds of the “memo” tale, when there’s a larger argument about why the FBI needs a major reorganization that someone needs to make amid what’s already an ugly fight about Patel’s nomination:

The transformation of the FBI back into a J. Edgar Hoover-style domestic spy service with sweeping political ambition has been a long-developing story, obscured by a political anomaly. In the first phase of this nightmare, between 2001 and 2016, the post-9/11 Bureau used the pretext of an enhanced counterintelligence mandate to throw off some mild restraints that had been placed on it the last time it had to be slapped down, i.e. after the Church Committee hearings in the 1970s. The second phase of its transformation took place after the election of Donald Trump, when the Bureau remade itself on the fly as a kind of government-in-exile, empowered by an outpouring of public and media support to view itself as a counterweight to the Trump government.

‘JESUS CHRIST:’ Social Media Erupts Over House Democrats STILL Mocking Inflation Worries After Election Beatdown.

Social media erupted on Tuesday after the X account for the Democratic members of the House Ways and Means Committee went out of its way to mock Americans over their continued concerns about rising prices.

Reposting a tweet claiming that despite “record air travel, holiday shopping busting records,” and “stock market all-time highs,” there remain “some Pollyannas” whining that the economy is “the worst ever,” the Ways and Means Democrats account added, “And here we were thinking y’all couldn’t afford eggs!”

Onlookers reacted to it like they might a particularly ugly car crash.

“Jesus Christ,” exclaimed the popular New Liberals (formerly Neoliberal) account.

* * * * * * * * *

“They never learn,” chimed in House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN).

“‘But how can things be unaffordable when people are spending record amounts of money on things? Checkmate, losers!’” tweeted one right-wing personality unimpressed not only with the messaging, but the logic behind the post.

A CBS News exit poll from the 2024 election — which saw Republicans win the presidency as well as both chambers of Congress — found that 53% of voters called inflation a “moderate hardship” over the last year and an additional 22% called it a “severe hardship.”

The same survey found that only 24% of Americans said their personal financial situation was better than it was four years ago, as compared to 45% who said it was worse.

The tweet sparking the firestorm of criticism was later deleted.

But not before it was screen-capped by numerous Twitter users:

POLITICO: The anti-Trump movement is in tatters. Now it’s scrambling to remain relevant.

But congressional Republicans may be less willing to buck Trump once he resumes office in January and the business of vetting his Cabinet picks moves out from behind closed doors. Public acts of defiance risk not just Trump’s wrath, but primary challenges in 2026 — and few GOP senators are positioned to win reelection without his voters.

Meanwhile, the number of Trump’s opponents in the upper chamber will again dwindle in the next Congress. And the remaining two Republican senators who voted for his impeachment, Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, will no longer be enough to tank a nomination on their own.

“It’s got to start in Congress,” Geoff Duncan, the former Republican lieutenant governor of Georgia who endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris over Trump, said in an interview. “You’ve got to have serious-minded senators willing to hold the conservative line and filter out as much anger and grievance-filled decision-making as possible.”

But if that bulwark crumbles, so, too, might the last vestiges of the broader Trump resistance.

Asked where Never Trumpers go from here, Jeff Timmer, former executive director of the Michigan GOP and a member of the Lincoln Project, told POLITICO: “You mean reeducation camps? I’m being an optimist.”

Always look on the bright side of life, to coin a song title: In September of 2008, Naomi Wolf, former Al Gore advisor, was muttering at the Huffington Post about Sarah ‘Evita’ Palin being poised to usher in the looming Rovian Police State. Today, she’s a Trump supporter.

Perhaps Wolf was simply afraid of finding herself at the business end of the “Trump firing squads” — like they are at CNN these days, as they attempt to explain Biden’s “unexpected” pardon of Hunter on Sunday night:

[LEIGH MCGOWAN, SOCIAL MEDIA HOST AND CONTENT CREATOR, POLITICSGIRL] No. I believe the circumstances have changed. I think that we have now have a president coming into office who’s talking about firing squads, who’s talking about running people around the country and making sure that everyone who his enemy is going to be punished.

Scott Jennings’ eye roll in response says it all about the mental landscape the left and adjacent Never Trumper right find themselves in today:

SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT DECLARES EMERGENCY MARTIAL LAW, SAYS OPPOSITION SIDES WITH NORTH KOREA:

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared an “emergency martial law,” Tuesday accusing the country’s opposition of controlling the parliament, sympathizing with North Korea and paralyzing the government with anti-state activities.

Yoon made the announcement in a televised briefing, vowing to “eradicate pro-North Korean forces and protect the constitutional democratic order.”

It wasn’t immediately clear how Yoon’s step would affect the country’s governance and democracy. The move drew immediate opposition from politicians, including the leader of his own conservative party, Han Dong-hoon, who called the decision “wrong” and vowed to “stop it with the people.” Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung, who narrowly lost to Yoon in the 2022 presidential election, called Yoon’s announcement “illegal and unconstitutional.”

“Through this martial law, I will rebuild and protect the free Republic of Korea, which is falling into the depths of national ruin,” Yoon said during a televised speech, invoking South Korea’s formal name.

In response: South Korea troops try to storm parliament after martial law declared.

Troops were seen trying to enter the South Korean parliament on Wednesday after President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law in a surprise late-night TV address that slammed domestic political opponents and sent shockwaves through the country.

Live television footage showed troops apparently tasked with imposing martial law attempting to enter the assembly building, and parliamentary aides were seen trying to push the soldiers back by spraying fire extinguishers.

Yoon said on Tuesday night that opposition parties had taken the parliamentary process hostage. He vowed to eradicate “shameless pro-North Korean anti-state forces” and said he had no choice but to take the measure to safeguard constitutional order.

Shortly after Yoon made his announcement, people began gathering outside the parliament building, some of them shouting: “Withdraw emergency martial law!”

And: South Korean parliament votes to defy president by lifting his declaration of martial law.

Developing, as they say.

UPDATE: “Martial Law Declared in South Korea Then Quickly Voted Down,” John Sexton writes. “This is obviously a constitutional crisis and things can change quickly. We’ll have to wait and see how the president reacts to having his declaration voted down by the same Assembly politicians he vowed to stop. There’s some speculation that impeachment proceedings will begin next. Also, you have to wonder what North Korea’s dictator is making of all of this. So far they don’t seem to have done much of anything.”

MIKE JUDGE DIDN’T INTEND FOR IDIOCRACY TO BE A HOW-TO GUIDE: How to sum up 2024? The Oxford University Press word of the year is ‘brain rot.’

Many of us have felt it, and now it’s official: “brain rot” is Oxford dictionaries’ word of the year.

Oxford University Press said Monday that the evocative phrase “gained new prominence in 2024,” with its frequency of use increasing 230% from the year before.

Oxford defines brain rot as “the supposed deterioration of a person’s mental or intellectual state, especially viewed as the result of overconsumption of material (now particularly online content) considered to be trivial or unchallenging.”

* * * * * * * *

Collins Dictionary’s 2024 word of the year is “brat” – the album title that became a summer-living ideal.

Remember the five minutes over the summer where the presidential election campaign of a then-59-year old sitting vice president in desperate need of a gravitas infusion tried to somehow adopt that word as a campaign slogan? Those were good times: ‘Kamala IS brat:’ Harris campaign goes lime-green to embrace the meme of the summer.

After Kamala Harris announced her bid for president, she reportedly raised a record-breaking $81m donations in just a day – but her most culturally powerful endorsement may have come from a single tweet.

As nearly all Democrats rallied behind the vice-president offering support in tweets and TV interviews, a perhaps unlikely voice weighed in: the British pop singer Charli xcx, who tweeted, “kamala IS brat.”

That’s high praise from the musician, who released her album, also titled Brat, last month. Brat is not just a name, but a lifestyle, one inspired by noughties excess and rave culture.

The archetypical brat, Charli explained on TikTok, is “just like that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes, who feels herself, but then also maybe has a breakdown, but kind of parties through it”.

Brat summer essentials, again according to Charli, are “a pack of cigs, a Bic lighter, a strappy white top with no bra”.

Perhaps most importantly, Charli chose a neon lime backdrop for her album cover, one that’s sickeningly sweet, representing both the highs of a long night out and the impending crash of a hangover.

Canonical brats include the actor and model Julia Fox, who appeared in the music video for Charli’s 360 alongside a cast of fellow proclaimed it girls such as Chloë Sevigny, Hari Nef, and Emma Chamberlain. Now, Harris joins their ranks.

“That’s high praise from the musician.”

Incidentally, “Joy,” which was “Brat’s” replacement the following month, also brought some baggage of its own for the flailing campaign and its media enablers to deal with: No, the Kamala Harris campaign hasn’t adopted a Nazi slogan. People online have claimed Vice President Kamala Harris has adopted the Nazi phrase “Strength Through Joy” as her campaign slogan. That’s false.

KONSTANTIN KISIN: The Real Reason the Mainstream Media is Dying (Video).

EDITH WILSON: THE NEXT GENERATION: How Jill Biden led the family campaign to pressure Joe into changing his mind on a Hunter pardon.

For months, President Joe Biden relentlessly insisted there was no chance of offering his son Hunter a pardon.

But he ultimately changed his mind, emerging from a Thanksgiving vacation at a $36 million Nantucket compound on Sunday to drop the bombshell announcement he would be saving Hunter from a potential jail term.

DailyMail.com can now reveal what really happened during that five-day stay on a chilly Massachusetts island and the lead up to the holiday that prompted Biden to make the call – no matter the stain on his legacy.

The decision came after a week of intense family time, including a baby shower for his first great-grandchild and being cocooned with his wife and children on Nantucket’s inner harbor.

At the heart of the 82-year-old’s decision was family, both Joe Biden’s unconditional love for his and the deep loyalty the Bidens’ have for one another.

Leading the charge was Jill Biden, known as her son’s ‘biggest defender.’ With her at the Nantucket compound were Hunter himself, wife Melissa and the Bidens’ daughter Ashley.

JUST NBC THE INSANITY! Yale psychiatrist calls it ‘essential’ for liberals to cut off Trump-voting loved ones during holidays.

With the holiday season approaching, a prominent mental health expert told MSNBC viewers that they should feel justified in cutting ties with relatives that voted for President-elect Donald Trump.

Yale University chief psychiatry resident Dr. Amanda Calhoun spoke to MSNBC host Joy Reid on Friday night about ways liberals who are devastated with Trump’s re-election this week can cope with news, including separating from certain loved ones.

“So, if you are going into a situation where you have family members, where you have close friends who you know have voted in ways that are against you… it’s completely fine to not be around those people and to tell them why,” Calhoun told Reid.

More from Calhoun: She’s Chief Resident of Yale’s Child Psychiatry Program. She Also Says Her Husband Can’t Have White Friends ‘Unless They Meet Me First.’ Dr. Amanda Calhoun says psychiatry ‘is rooted in anti-Black racism.’

As Ed Morrissey writes in response, “one has to wonder whether MSNBC is trying to cram a decade’s worth of crazy into the few months they have left. If so, then Joy Reid is the woman to deliver.”

If this year is their Götterdämmerung, Keith Olbermann must be thrilled that MSNBC is going out in a crescendo of madness not seen since his heyday there: Rachel Maddow’s former mentor says she ‘lost her principles’ for $25m salary.

Keith Olbermann, whom Maddow has previously credited with starting her television career, claimed that his former protege had abandoned her principles for her lofty salary.

Maddow is reported to have negotiated a $25 million salary in a five-year deal with MSNBC for a weekly show, even though her viewership has plummeted following Donald Trump’s election win earlier this month.

Olbermann, who hosted Countdown with Keith Olbermann for eight years until 2011, made the remark after a social media user suggested that MSNBC, a liberal network, might have to “change its identity” if sold off by parent company Comcast.

They added: “Or maybe [Rachel Maddow] should leave and build a new operation.”

Olbermann replied: “She just re-signed for $25 million. If you think she’d do anything for principle, I’ll light a candle for you.”

Olbermann thinks Maddow should resign, huh? But then Olbermann thinks everyone he dislikes should resign:

TAY-TAY WILL BE TRAPPED IN 2020 FOREVER:

I had forgotten the meaning of the phrase “raw dogging,” and was more than a little trepidatious about what I would encounter when I typed those words into Google: The ‘Rawdogging’ Flights Trend, Explained.

[I]n this golden age of in-flight entertainment with all these options available to travelers, who would want to just stare ahead at the seatback, watching nothing but perhaps the flight map for the duration of a long-haul flight?

The trend is referred to as “rawdogging” a flight and it basically means foregoing any of the in-flight perks—no in-flight entertainment, no snacks or beverages from the carts rolling through the aisles, and, in the most extreme cases, no drinking water or napping.

Like many trends, it’s playing out on TikTok, with some travelers posting about their most extreme rawdogging flight feats: “Just rawdogged a 7-hour flight (new personal best) no headphones, no movie, no water, nothing,” wrote one user: @oiwudini, a Manchester-based DJ and producer. “The power of my mind knows no bounds.”

To be honest, I was expecting references to the sort of activities that are Lorenz-approved — rather paradoxically, given her extreme germaphobe mindset: Masked-up Taylor Lorenz attends Pornhub awards.

UPDATE:

BRENDAN O’NEILL: Hunter Biden’s pardon is the death rattle of the elites.

Look, we don’t have to be heartless bastards about it. Many among us would opt to save a child* from jail, even if it meant backtracking on all our fine moral grandstanding. But the problem is the Dems tied their political rectitude to Biden’s acceptance of the jury’s democratic deliberations. They used the Hunter case to morally distinguish themselves from the allegedly lawless bruisers of the Trump set. They swore, endlessly, that they would abide by the rules and restore normalcy to the Trump-rattled republic. And they didn’t. They ended up exploiting presidential power for personal favour to a degree Trump never did. Their claims to moral distinction lie in tatters. Their delusion of righteousness stands exposed as just that: a delusion. This is why this pardon matters.

It feels like a Last Days of Rome vibe has gripped Biden’s White House. One envisions Jill still stomping the halls in fury over Kamala’s betrayal. And officials muttering bitterly about Nancy Pelosi’s Brutus-style wielding of the knife against Joe. All while Joe busies himself with freeing his fallen son from the very justice Joe claims to love. This is what happens when an elite becomes ever more estranged from the people: it starts to rule by itself and for itself. Rarely has the moral exhaustion of a government been on such frank and grim display.

* Hunter is 54, so he’s hardly a child. And Biden’s been looking the other way at his actions for his entire life, leading up to this moment:

On the other hand, Hunter spent his childhood being a political prop for Joe; from that point of view, like the misguided kids of Hollywood celebrities, where there’s no moral compass to be handed down from generation to generation, I am somewhat sympathetic:

That’s the crash that Biden has spent much of his adult life lying about the cause of: ‘Sick To My Stomach:’ Joe Biden lied about my dad being drunk in crash that killed his wife and daughter… he’s got a nerve calling out Trump.

THAT WAS THE QUADRENNIAL THAT WAS:

“No one is above the law.” Some exceptions do apply, however:

And: a corporate media supercut: Obviously Biden would never pardon Hunter:

Roger Kimball adds that the Hunter Biden pardon has silver linings:

There are two silver linings in this abominable episode, however. One is that the stench of legal favoritism will cling to the Democrats for years to come. Critics have been complaining that they have run a two-tier justice system for years. Joe Biden just demonstrated that in the most egregious fashion.

The second bright spot includes victims of the Democrats’ two-tier system of justice, the January 6 hostages who are rotting as political prisoners in Merrick Garland’s DC gulag. Donald Trump has spoken frequently about the possibility of pardoning unfairly incarcerated pawns. Biden’s outrageous abuse of his authority makes that much more likely. I hope the executive order is teed-up for January 20 at 12:01.

And there’s a third: the corruption of the DNC-MSM was exposed for all to see, as Ed Morrissey writes: “In every step and in every way, the Protection Racket Media served as Biden’s wingman. They dutifully regurgitated his spin as established fact, and when that didn’t work, they made Republicans the story rather than Biden. That instinct carried through even to last night, as Politico and other news outlets focused on Republican reactions rather than report that Joe had just issued a 10-year free pass to the chief bagman for Biden Inc. Even [Politico’s Alexander Burns’] caustic response deflects from that and onto the coming administration’s attempts to root out politicization and weaponization in federal law enforcement.”

JIM GERAGHTY: The Biden Crime Family Gets Away with It.

This was predictable, and predicted, because no matter how many times Joe Biden looked you in the eye or television camera and gave you his “word as a Biden,” the overwhelming majority of us knew it was — to use one of the president’s terms — “malarkey.” To be a Biden is to be above the law, and that’s been clear for a long time.

You know whose life got a lot easier late last night after news of the Hunter Biden pardon broke? Trump’s choice to be the next FBI director, Kash Patel. Because Senate Democrats are going to argue that the country can’t have partisan politics and personal loyalties and connections to the president mucking around in the justice system. And Senate Republicans are just going to laugh.

Hey, look at the bright side, you probably didn’t stick your neck out arguing, “People who insist Biden will pardon Hunter after specifically ruling it out are telling on themselves. . . . They can’t imagine someone acting on principle and keeping his word.”

And thus Team Biden comes full circle:

NEW JAAAAAAG DESIGN LEAKED: Jaguar’s ‘Barbie pink’ electric car leaked online. Images appearing to show the concept vehicle draw comparisons with Thunderbirds and Pink Panther.

Jaguar’s controversial new concept electric car has been leaked online – showing the vehicle in Barbie pink.

Images appearing to show the new model have been posted on X by Autocar magazine showing the sleek, low-slung vehicle with a long bonnet and wide grille.

The car, which will be officially unveiled at Miami Art Week tonight, is shown in bold pink and metallic blue.

The hot pink vehicle has drawn comparisons with the FAB 1 car driven by Lady Penelope in Thunderbirds and the Barbie car. Others have suggested that Jaguar should be renamed Pink Panther in light of the overhaul.

My immediate take is that the new Jag is hideous — it looks like someone mated Elon Musk’s Cybertruck with the 1990s-era Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile:

When Jag’s new ad campaign dropped, many people speculated as to who the heretofore unseen new car would be aimed at — and now we know. Remember the “Ambiguously Gay Duo” from the 1996-2011-era of Saturday Night Live? Gentlemen of the crime fighting world, your new “bold pink” electric steed awaits!
