THREAD:

Read the whole thing but this part stands out: “‘You can’t be a revolutionary overnight. You have to have a process for it over time.’ That is exactly what these meetings do. They teach people this process. Paired with real skills that A LOT of people in my world of X talk about.”

And this from Andy Ngo’s intro: “Antifa cells are informal, but often effective, because they operate through exploitation of laws and having access to corrupt prosecutors, corrupt judges and well-funded pro-bono lawyers. They also rely on biased, lying media to not investigate or report accurately on them. (E.g., the legacy reports on the Pittsburgh Antifa bomb-making couple make no mention of their violent anarchist organizing.)”

CHINA IS BUILDING “MULBERRIES” AND THAT’S A VERY BIG DEAL: War in Two Years or Less.

PLEASE, STOP — THEY WON’T LET ME VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN: ‘There is going to be shock and awe with executive orders.’

President-elect Donald Trump will issue “a blizzard of executive orders” as soon as he inaugurated Jan. 20, Sen. John Barrasso predicted Sunday.

Speaking on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” the Wyoming Republican said: “When President Trump takes office next Monday, there is going to be shock and awe with executive orders. A blizzard of executive orders on the economy, as well as on the border.”

Executive orders, for better or worse, allow a president to bypass Congress. But Barrasso, the new Senate majority whip, said that he expects Trump to also rely on the narrow Republican majority in the Senate and even more slender one in the House to get his agenda enacted.

Left unsaid: Most of what Trump’s EOs need to do is undo Biden’s EOs.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: LA Fires Be Damned — Gavin Newsom Will Still Be the Dems’ Frontrunner in 2028. “The principal elected officials in the Los Angeles apocalyptic horror story are Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom. The two have been running roughshod over an inherently bad situation in a clown car armored vehicle. In a just world, both of them would be pilloried in a town square by now.”

SINCE THE PRESS WON’T SHARE THIS CLIP, YOU SHOULD — FAR AND WIDE:

Cowardice mixed with incompetence isn’t a good look but it’s the one she has.

Related, from Kurt Schlichter: There Is No Bottom For Blue California.

Now, you need to understand that experiencing the true fallout of government incompetence is not something that the kind of people who live in Pacific Palisades often experience. Instead, they are usually insulated from the consequences of their choices. Do you think bums, losers, and scumbags wander around in Pacific Palisades like they do in the rest of LA? Oh no. The LAPD has instructions to actually enforce the law in rich neighborhoods like the Palisades. They are disconnected from the utter chaos of the social pathology that the rest of the city experiences. They rarely have to face it, so they don’t really care about it. But now the fires have come, and you think they might care about it, but they won’t care about it for long. They’ll get over it. They’re going to cry and complain a little bit about Governor Hairstyle and Mayor Dumb Bass, and then on Election Day, they’re going to look at their ballots, and they’re going to mark somebody with a D.

They haven’t gotten it good and hard enough yet and, if Kurt is right, maybe never will.

BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME: Technical snag forces another delay for the first orbital launch of Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket.

Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin space venture counted down to the final hour tonight, but in the end, the company had to postpone the first-ever orbital launch of its heavy-lift New Glenn rocket due to a stubborn technical glitch.

The launch from Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station was scrubbed a few minutes after 3 a.m. ET (midnight PT). Tonight’s three-hour launch window was due to close at 4 a.m. ET.

“We are standing down on today’s launch attempt to troubleshoot a vehicle subsystem issue that will take us beyond our launch window,” launch commentator Ariane Cornell said. “We are reviewing opportunities for our next launch attempt.”

The faulty subsystem hasn’t been named.

TRUMP HAD THEM BOXED IN WELL ENOUGH BEFORE AND HE CAN DO IT AGAIN: Trump’s Ukraine envoy says world must reinstate ‘maximum pressure’ on Iran.

The world must return to a policy of “maximum pressure” against Iran to turn it into a more democratic country, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg told an Iranian opposition event in Paris on Saturday.

Trump has vowed to return to the policy he pursued in his previous term that sought to wreck Iran’s economy to force the country to negotiate a deal on its nuclear programme, ballistic missile programme and regional activities.

“These pressures are not just kinetic, just not military force, but they must be economic and diplomatic as well”, Retired Lieutenant-General Kellogg, who is set to serve as Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, told the audience at Paris-based Iranian opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

He said there was an opportunity “to change Iran for the better” but that this opportunity would not last forever.

“We must exploit the weakness we now see. The hope is there, so must too be the action.”

Is it January 20 yet?

JAN 20 PREVIEW: Trump prepares 100 executive orders to enact once in office.

President-elect Donald Trump and his advisers told Republican senators that the incoming administration is working on 100 executive orders that will be enacted once Trump is sworn into office.

The orders will focus on immigration, a topic Trump has been adamant about fixing while campaigning for the presidency.

“He says he has almost 100 executive orders that will go a long way to securing the border again and also put the energy sector back in play,” Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) said Thursday on Fox & Friends.

However, the Oklahoma senator also cautioned that Trump’s executive orders could be reversed or undone if they aren’t backed up by congressional action.

“As he said, it’s not permanent,” Mullin said of the orders. “I’d like reconciliation so we can start making this up into legislation, so we can move forward.”

That’s where things get tricky.

DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS: Texas Lawmakers Double Down on Bills to Secure Its Border With Mexico. “With the state’s 89th legislative session convening on Jan. 14, notable Texas border bills include renewed attempts to create a Texas Division of Homeland Security, a Texas Border Protection Unit, and bills aiding the incoming president’s efforts to secure the border.”

VICTORIA TAFT: Don’t Be a B-A** Like Karen.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass could take some lessons from Donald Trump. When a reporter asked a question at Thursday’s back-patting fire presser about why the city wasn’t prepared for the fire even though there was warning, she didn’t answer. She clumsily attempted to ignore and elide la pregunta.

But as they also say in Spanish, a language Bass knows because of her undying devotion to her El Jefe Fidel Castro, (yeah, she’s a commie as I report nearby), if you el answer-o las preguntas you can el-leavo the presser mĂĄs rĂĄpido.

She didn’t do that.

Filled with hubris, with her system still filled with undigested Ghanaian food, the California Democrat couldn’t explain why she left town, faked that she was in town on X, and couldn’t explain herself.

GODSPEED: A taller, heavier, smarter version of SpaceX’s Starship is almost ready to fly.

An upsized version of SpaceX’s Starship mega-rocket rolled to the launch pad early Thursday in preparation for liftoff on a test flight next week.

The two-mile transfer moved the bullet-shaped spaceship one step closer to launch Monday from SpaceX’s Starbase test site in South Texas. The launch window opens at 5 pm EST (4 pm CST; 2200 UTC). This will be the seventh full-scale test flight of SpaceX’s Super Heavy booster and Starship spacecraft and the first of 2025.

In the coming days, SpaceX technicians will lift the ship on top of the Super Heavy booster already emplaced on the launch mount. Then, teams will complete the final tests and preparations for the countdown on Monday.

“The upcoming flight test will launch a new generation ship with significant upgrades, attempt Starship’s first payload deployment test, fly multiple reentry experiments geared towards ship catch and reuse, and launch and return the Super Heavy booster,” SpaceX officials wrote in a mission overview posted on the company’s website.
