KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: It’s Never a Stretch to Believe That a Dem Wants to Kill a Cop. “Since January 2009, the blame for most violence against law enforcement in the United States can be laid at the feet of His High Holiness the Lightbringer Barack Obama. While it’s true that the Democrats frequently had a fraught relationship with the law and those who enforce it before then, Obama’s presidency retrofitted the party’s DNA with hatred of all cops.”

SHE WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN:

BILL SHIPLEY: Minneapolis Is Not Even A Close Call — A Lawsplainer On Officer-Involved Shootings.

The Image above proves the ICE Officer was justified in his decision to use deadly force. He had no obligation to step out of the way that would benefit her or subject him to prosecution. He had no obligation to allow her to drive away from an attempt to detain her after the Officer at the door of her car ordered her to stop and exit the vehicle.

ICE has two sets of law enforcement personnel — Special Agents who are criminal investigators, and deportation officers who process civil deportation cases. Special Agents are covered by GS-1811 series position with a general description of “criminal investigator.” They are armed and possess police powers to investigate and make arrests for any crime committed in their presence, as well as for the enforcement of all crimes under Title 8 of the United States Code — “Aliens and Nationality.” Within their authority are crimes under Title 18 such as “conspiracy” and “obstruction” that intefere with their enforcement of the provisions of Title 8.

But the claim floating around social media that ICE officers have no jurisdiction over U.S. citizens is simply wrong. They are law enforcement officers with the authority to detain citizens briefly as part of their investigatory powers, and to arrest citizens who conspire to obstruct and/or do actually obstruct their lawful operations.

UPDATE (FROM GLENN):

This is especially impressive given that they’re facing organized efforts, staffed and funded on an international scale, to create such incidents and to obstruct their efforts.

DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH OR WHATEVER:

RAFAEL BARDAJÍ: The world without Europe.

Europeans are becoming less rich and more poor and feel assaulted on their soil and threatened by another foreseeable great war. Without a change in the continent’s political elites, it is very difficult for Europe to emerge from the current impasse. Unfortunately, E.U. leaders are hellbent on preventing such a change. Hence their growing authoritarianism and their disdain for the deep values of democracy. Spain is a particularly acute case in this area, as its current prime minister has transformed Spanish democracy into a completely hollow shell of values and respect for democratic procedures. But the United Kingdom is going in the same direction, not to mention France and Germany. People are being arrested for praying in the street, but only if they are Christians; people are being fined and imprisoned for giving opinions contrary to government policies because any criticism is judged a hate crime, especially if it deals with immigration. It aspires to judicially eliminate opposition leaders outside the establishment and promotes the illegalization of parties that are not part of the grand consensus born after World War II.

But while this incipient “cold civil war” is taking place, Europe has become invisible as an actor in the rest of the world. It is not a player in the Middle East (for the better); it aligns itself against dictatorial change (see statements on the capture of Maduro or on the Iranian regime); and it believes that by getting cocky in front of its main ally, the United States, it becomes stronger. In Moscow and Beijing, there must be many people laughing loudly.

PERSPECTIVE:

Stalin’s Red Army required just 820 days from the end of the Battle of Stalingrad to capture Berlin — a distance of about 1,380 miles, fighting the entire way.

In the 1,418 days since Russia’s the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, their forces hold nothing further than 25-50 miles from the territories captured in 2014.

Winning? Losing? I don’t know. But I’m damn sure that 1,418 days of this is a pointless, stupid waste.

IRAN UPDATE:

EXCLUSIVE: Violent Suspect Arrested at Portland Antifa ICE Riot Is a Registered Sex Offender. “Simmons appears to repeatedly violate his obligation to register as a sex offender. In November 2022, he was charged with two felony counts of failing to report as a sex offender in Multnomah County, where Portland is, but the charges were dropped by then-woke District Attorney Mike Schmidt. Schmidt infamously dropped most of the charges against the violent BLM-Antifa rioters in 2020 and 2021.”

ANOTHER IRAN UPDATE:

UPDATE: Then there’s this from the President.

THE ICE OFFICER’S VIDEO REMOVED WHAT LITTLE DOUBT I MIGHT HAVE HAD:

AND ANOTHER ONE:

CIVIL RIGHTS UPDATE: Da Nang Dick Blumenthal’s BCCA Bill is a Back Door Ploy to Enable Infinite Firearm Purchase Waiting Periods. “The bill, featuring a who’s who of gun control co-sponsors like Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), would prohibit federally licensed firearm retailers from completing a firearm transfer to the prospective buyer until the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System verification returns an approval. This would be a dramatic change that would repeal the long-standing three-business-day Brady Bill safeguard Congress included to prevent government delay from becoming government denial.”

IT’S LIES, ALL THE WAY DOWN:

“The entire city and state leadership, all run by Democrats, organized an emergency press conference to condemn the federal agents, reject DHS’ statement and to express support with the violent suspects, who they called the ‘victims.’ Local and national media also misled the public about the shooting.”

IRAN: Over 200 dead in Tehran as regime forces open fire on protesters. “Iran’s in big trouble. It looks to me that the people are taking over certain cities that nobody thought were really possible,” [Trump] said in a video circulated on social media. “We’re watching. I made the statement very strongly that if they start killing people like they have in the past, we will get involved.”
