VOTERS REJECT BIDEN’S SPEECH-FROM-HELL: New survey by Trafalgar Group of 1,084 like voters finds 62.4 percent of Independents and 56.8 percent of respondents overall view the Biden Philadelphia oration as “a dangerous escalation of rhetoric that is designed to incite conflict among Americans.” Only 18.7 percent of Democrats so viewed the speech.

UPDATE (FROM GLENN): Remember, Biden’s own press secretary says that if you disagree with the majority, you’re an extremist!

LOUT, LIAR AND LUNATIC: Issues & Insights captures the Trilemma that is the Joe Biden seen by the nation in last night’s eerie presidential rant:

“Biden is also a lunatic. To have listened to him since he took office, it’s hard to conclude that he’s not trying to provoke a cold if not hot civil war, or at least a major political conflagration.

“He did tone things down a bit Thursday from his previous fever speech, but that was likely in part to make room for all the meaningless bromides he spouted as if they were the most unique and profound words ever stitched together.

“Naturally Biden resorted to our ‘democracy’ over and again as if it were a convention that should be worshipped. He said it well beyond the point of where it became sickening. And it’s another lie. The U.S. is not a democracy. Never has been. Why do the Democrats and their media cheerleaders continue to identify our style of government in the same terms a grade-schooler would?

“The U.S. is a representative republic, or democratic republic. (And Biden and his party are its biggest internal threat.) Democracy is mob rule, which is exactly what the Democrats want – as long as it’s their mob ruling. Think of the George Floyd riots, Antifa violence, destruction, looting – they support anything that wrecks order and helps set them up to take on more political power.”

MANNING REMEMBERS: Rick Manning, head honcho of Americans for Limited Government (ALG), that is. Remember when the Left rioted in D.C. the night Trump was nominated by the GOP convention? Manning was there and he, along with many others who were trying to walk a few blocks to their cars, were blocked by the rioters and rescued by the D.C. police. Can you guess who didn’t say a word about it?

‘THAT’S HOW YOU GET AWAY IT:’ Project Veritas strikes again, this time videoing a public school assistant principal as he describes why and how he refuses to hire teachers who happen to be professing Christians, so he can enable the liberal indoctrination of students. The Washington Stand’s Ben Johnson has the details. Now, back to the beach.

OPEN THE BOOKS TRIBUTE: Wife and I got an early start at the beach on the Labor Day weekend, but I found time to write this tribute to the nonprofit watchdog that has done so much to advance transparency in government.

MOST COLLEGE STUDENTS SELF-CENSOR: Fifty-nine percent of the respondents to a recent poll of college students report they self-censor their political views in class, even though their professors often talk about political issues, according to the Washington Free Beacon’s Karl Salzmann.

And can you guess what sort of political opinions those professors are discussing? Seventy-seven percent of the respondents described their professors’ views as being of the Left-wing variety.

Wasn’t there a time in America when college was the place where you could speak your mind, regardless of where you are on the ideological spectrum, without having to fear that doing so would result in some sort of penalty?

SO WHO CREATED GOD? AND A FREE BOOK! That “who created God” query is one I hear a good bit, including on occasion here in the comments. It’s actually quite an interesting question, in my view, and I respond to it today on HillFaith.

But wait, there’s more!

For those who are interested in such questions, email your snail mail address to me at: , and I’ll promptly dispatch to you a free copy of Tom Hammond’s concise, 46 pager entitled “What Time Is Purple?” It’s a delightful, quick read in answer to the title query “and other intriguing questions on the road trip to Truth.”

NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT ON THIS, RIGHT? The Washington Free Beacon’s Joseph Simonson obtained an internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) memo that describes officials finding nearly 30,000 individuals coming into the U.S. using Mexican passports and with Middle Eastern names.

Probably just means tourism to this country is becoming more popular in places like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. etc, because folks there want to see the Statue of Liberty, so no worries!

STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS AND ALIMONY: Yes, there actually is a connection and Hans Bader of Liberty Unyielding provides everything you need to know (and probably more than that, too).

10 EV FACTS THEY DON’T WANT US TO KNOW: There are far more than 10 such things but powerthefuture.com has a revealing list that centers my latest column on PJ Media. If you aren’t a VIP member yet, now is the time to give it a whirl.

JEFF DUNETZ HAS HAD IT WITH JOE BIDEN: The Lid’s author has had it up to here with the President’s increasingly frequent references to “MAGA Republicans” as “Semi-Fascists” or just plain old “Fascists.” The reason is Jeff knows a real fascist when he sees one and they ain’t the Trumpsters.

ABOUT THAT TRILEMMA, MR. LEWIS: C.S. Lewis famously promulgated the “Lord, Liar or Lunatic” formulation regarding Jesus Christ that has long been a staple of Christian apologetics. Now there are critics — and even a standup comic — who claim Lewis got it wrong. Erik Manning responds on HillFaith.

AMERICANS SEE IRS NIGHTMARE COMING: New survey results indicate most Americans have examined and rejected the Democrats’ program to double the size of the IRS by adding 87,000 new agents to its workforce, according to the Trafalgar Group.

This is a survey of 1,000 likely 2022 voters, so it suggests, if only indirectly, that claims by talking heads in the Mainstream Media that the Democrats are heading to a more positive outcome in November should be taken with a grain of salt.

YOUR LAWN IS ZOMBIE BOOMERISM: Let’s see, I’m a Boomer, my dad had me pushing the lawn mower at about age 10, and I never once heard him say how proud he was to have such verdant, expansive proof of his privilege and power. Now along comes the Washington Post to explain it all.

DEFUND THE COPS, BUT FIRST LET ME SNITCH TO THEM: Andrew Stiles of the Washington Free Beacon has the goods on Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), who, while a vocal advocate of everything anti-police, is not above ratting out a suspect fleeing the cops and hiding in her backyard.

DOING WELL BY DOING WHAT? Sen. Raphael Warnock is doing quite well for himself in the U.S. Senate.

THE ‘GOD OF THE GAPS’ FALLACY: J. Warner Wallace, the long-time “evidence whisperer” on NBC’s “Dateline” program, specialized as a Los Angeles Police Detective in solving murder cases that had long before grown cold. He knows a thing or three about how to evaluate evidence.

An oft-heard criticism of Intelligent Design is that it merely substitutes “god” as a short-hand explanation for things that are not yet understood in the material world. Thus the “god of the gaps.” But in this short (2:55) video on HillFaith, Wallace explains why the GOTG critique misses the mark.

SO, WHAT IF THE RESURRECTION NEVER HAPPENED? It’s THE crucial question, the one that determines if Christians are, in Paul the Apostle’s description, fools or something else entirely. Here’s my take on four of the most popular alternative explanations.

NEW EVIDENCE OF OBAMACARE’S FAILURE: Remember all those promises about “you can keep your doctor” and “improving health care for all Americans” as then-President Barack Obama peddled Obamacare to the American people.

A decade has passed since Obamacare was deemed approved in Congress and then signed into law by Obama right after Joe Biden described it as a “Big F—— Deal.” The data is in and guess what – life expectancy in America has plunged since Obamacare became law, according to Issues & Insights.

MORE OF THIS, PLEASE: A now-former American Express employee has sued the credit card giant for firing him due to his being a White person. This kind of discrimination will likely increase in the years ahead, so how about let’s let a thousand such suits flower?

13 U.S. HOSPITALS PERFORM GENDER TRANSITION SURGERY ON MINORS: When Boston Children’s Hospital denied performing gender transition surgeries on minors, The Washington Stand’s Joshua Arnold dug into the evidence and guess what he discovered – Boston Children’s Hospital has performed at least 204 such procedures between January 2017 and January 2020.

That’s just for starters because Arnold kept digging and came up with a detailed list of 13 American hospitals that perform the procedure that even a prominent transgender advocacy group rules out for minors:

“While legal in most states, performing gender transition surgery on minors violates even the practices suggested by transgender activists themselves. According to ‘Standards of Care’ published by a transgender advocacy group, World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), ‘age of majority in any country’ is a requirement for any type of gender transition surgery (although they leave some ambiguity regarding ‘top’ surgeries, which attempt to reshape a person’s chest to appear as the opposite gender). ‘Bottom’ surgeries, which remove genitals and therefore permanently sterilize a person are even further out-of-bounds. WPATH classifies both types of gender transition surgery as irreversible.”

UNIONS ARE DYING. GOOD RIDDANCE: The Lid columnist A.J. Kaufman looks at recent media reports of a new surge in union organizing efforts and concludes the data still shows unions may well be headed to the ash heap of history.

SMARTEST 2:20 ANYWHERE ON ESG: Texas Public Policy Foundation’s short, concise, fact-filled video on the scam that is ESG – Environmental, Social, Governance — ought to be required viewing in every school, corporate boardroom, college classroom and congressional confab:

OPENTHEBOOKS MAKES CALIFORNIA ITS 50TH ‘CHECKBOOK’ POSTING: OpenTheBooks.com, the Chicago-based nonprofit government watchdog that has posted on its web site trillions of dollars worth of federal, state and municipal spending, declared victory today in its decade-long battle to force California officials to make spending public for all taxpayers.

This is a big win for increased government transparency and accountability because California is the 50th state to have its spending “checkbook” posted on the Internet for all to see. OpenTheBooks.com President Adam Andrzejewski’s dream of putting “every dome online, in real time” is thus a huge step closer to a reality.

Somewhere in Heaven, Sen. Tom Coburn — the driving force behind creation of USASpending.gov, the website that first put federal spending on the web — is standing and cheering.

TRUE COST OF BIDEN’S STUDENT LOAN BAILOUT: Liberty Unyielding’s Hans Bader pegs the actual cost of Biden’s $300 billion college loan forgiveness initiative at more than $1 trillion. And that’s just the dollars.
