During one exchange, Cavuto asked, “In retrospect doctor, do you regret that it went too far? … Particularly for kids who couldn’t go to school except remotely, that it’s forever damaged them.”

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted Wednesday that he knew the “draconian” COVID-19 policies he pushed for would lead to “collateral negative consequences” for the “economy” and “schoolchildren.”
Fauci’s comments came during day one of The Atlantic Festival, a three-day convention put on by the media outlet The Atlantic featuring speeches and interviews from prominent members of the media, the government and political activists.
During the event, Fauci spoke with The Atlantic editor Ross Andersen in front of a live audience about his experiences as the leading medical professional working in the federal government during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In one segment of his talk, the doctor spoke about his guidance in instituting “draconian” pandemic guidance knowing full well there would be “collateral” damage stemming from it.
Before making his central point, Fauci first blamed the “divisiveness” of “social media” for turning every piece of his guidance during the pandemic into a confusing and controversial statement.

MAN ADMITS TO KILLING TEEN HE CLAIMED WAS ‘REPUBLICAN EXTREMIST:’
According to a local North Dakota report, early Sunday morning a man called 911 and admitted to the hit and run of an 18-year-old. His motive? A “political argument” with a Republican.
Forty-one-year-old Shannon Brandt said he was afraid 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson was “part of a Republican extremist group and that he was afraid they were ‘coming to get him.’”
So he allegedly killed Ellingson with his car.

UPDATE: This leftist didn’t understand why he was just arrested for running over, killing an 18-year-old “Republican extremist.” Huh. “A judge ordered Brandt held on $50,000 bail, which he objected to, saying he’s not a flight risk…Brandt posted bail, and is back on the streets. He is now in the process of scrubbing his social media.”

GET WOKE, GO BROKE: As G4TV Slides Towards Bankruptcy, They Finally Fire “Frosk.”
Obviously they were going in a different direction from Olivia Munn.
Frosk is a loud, obnoxious SJW feminist without an ounce of humor in her. She is full of hatred and rants. She also sometimes works for China and defends China.
G4 didn’t get a lot of watches on YouTube despite the high budget and its promotion and brand name. And Frosk started to get criticized because despite having very dogmatic and firm opinions about everything — like every leftwing feminist fatmouth — she was a leftist SJW, by which I mean, she did not know what in the hell she was talking about.
And I don’t mean about politics. I mean she would make dogmatic pronouncements about basic things about games and game systems and get them completely wrong. You know, her supposed field of expertie.
People would comment that she got them wrong, and she’d get angry.
That spurred her to go on this tirade against G4’s viewers — and remember, they didn’t have all that many viewers. She only briefly mentioned that bit about her getting a lot of things wrong, and then started insisting that everybody was always telling her how ugly and not-f***able she was, especially compared to the previous female hosts on G4.

I will keep saying: SJWs, if you want to push your unpopular #Woke CRT poison on the public, you need to vote for Trump, or DeSantis. You need a booming Trump or DeSantis economy so that corporations are so flush with cash that they can limp along with the losses you’re incurring them.
In a Biden economy, you get fired. In a Biden economy — in a recession — they can’t afford failure. They demand profits.
I don’t know what it’s going to take before corporations finally turn away from woke propaganda. I don’t know how many millions of dollars they will have to pour gasoline on to and set aflame before they finally realize that everyone hates wokeness.
And I don’t know how quickly I want them to realize it. I don’t watch their horrible content any longer.
But I am extremely entertained watching them lose millions and millions of dollars.

They’re trying to avoid the psychological shock of a full one point hike.
The media is offering headlines suggesting it’s the Fed who is “taking the economy off the side of a cliff.”
No, it was Joe Biden and the Democrat Congress who did that. They caused this runaway inflation. When you set a fire, the next thing that happens is that the fire department comes to put it out — and you can’t complain when they spray water everywhere and ruin all your furniture by soaking it.
But that’s how the media is playing it. It’s The Fed’s fault!

The Fed just raised interest rates by another 0.75%, putting Main Street economy ‘dangerously close’ to edge of lending cliff
That’s the unfortunate intention. Biden pumped a trillion plus dollars of excess dollar bills into the economy. And then, just a month ago, he pumped in another $740 billion.
The only way the Fed knows how to correct for this is to raise interest rates so high so as to make it hard to borrow money. This makes it hard for banks to inject new money into the economy — borrowed money is basically money taken from the future and put into circulation in the present. By reducing the amount of money that can be “borrowed from the future,” the Fed hopes to offset the trillions of extra dollars Biden has already flooded the economy with right now.
This is a painful process. It’s ugly. It’s miserable.
Which is why governments usually attempt to not unleash toxic hyperinflation upon their country.
“The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 522.45 points, or 1.7%, to close at 30,183.78. The S&P 500 shed 1.71% to 3,789.93, and the Nasdaq Composite slumped 1.79% to 11,220.19. The S&P ended Wednesday’s session down more than 10% in the past month and 21% off its 52-week high. Even before the rate decision, stocks were pricing in an aggressive tightening campaign by the Fed that could tip the economy into a recession.”

GRANNY-KILLER CUOMO UPDATE: Andrew Cuomo bashes Biden, Democrats for not standing by him during sexual harassment scandal: ‘Traumatizing.’
In a remarkably candid new interview, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D., said it was “traumatizing” and “heartbreaking” to see friends like President Biden and other top Democrats not stand by him when a wave of sexual harassment allegations derailed his career last year.
Asked by New York Post columnist Cindy Adams what friends were with him last year as his governorship collapsed over the misconduct accusations, he replied, “Nobody.” What followed was a series of name-dropping of prominent Democrats who he felt wounded by, likening himself to a “piece of meat,” as well as making a hint at another run for office.
“It was tough. Traumatizing. Biden, a friend 20 years, not knowing details, immediately said about me, ‘He’s got to go.’ Biden had troubles years before and I stood by him,” Cuomo said. “Gave him the benefit of the doubt. It was heartbreaking to see him trash me without reading one page, making one phone call.”
He also blasted Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and former President Obama, as well as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.
Flashback: Cuomo Unmasked. The New York governor’s long-running media celebration was largely based on a fiction—his dramatic understatement of Covid-19 deaths in nursing homes.
Cuomo ducked press demands for nursing-home mortality data throughout 2020, even as every other state made the information public. While New York admitted to about 7,000 nursing home deaths, informed estimates put the real count at around 12,000; the state refused to confirm the numbers. Last month, Attorney General Letitia James released a report acknowledging that the real death toll was close to 13,000. In reaction to this news, Cuomo snapped, “Who cares? 33 [percent], 28 [percent]. Died in a hospital. Died in a nursing home. They died.”

Kenya Barris tells me that LGBTQ representation will be featured in his “Wizard of Oz” remake. “The original was an allegory and a reflection of the way the world was at the time with things like the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl,” says Barris, who will write and direct the reimagining for Warner Bros. “Now we’re going to turn a mirror on where we’re at right now and take disparate characters from the LGBTQ community, from different cultural communities and socioeconomic communities, and tell a story that reflects the world. I think this is the best time to do that.”
He understands a “Wizard of Oz” remake comes with tremendous pressure. “I’m nervous,” Barris tells me. “Hopefully, my movie can last as long as the original does.” He adds with a laugh: “Hopefully my movie comes out.”
Another “Wizard of Oz” remake is also in the works at New Line Cinema with Nicole Kassell (“Watchmen”) directing.

On the subject of Taiwan and China, Biden once again stated that Taiwan would be defended militarily should mainland China stage an invasion to reclaim the island. Before the show was even over, the White House had put out a statement saying that America’s One China policy remains unchanged.
Yet most telling was when Pelley accompanied Biden to the Detroit Auto Show, and he took note that the convention was going on without masks or social distancing or vaccine mandates. Pelley asked Biden very directly, “Is the pandemic over?” “The pandemic is over,” Biden responded. “We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s — but the pandemic is over.” This wasn’t a gaffe. This wasn’t a slip-up. He reiterated it again in his response.
This left the White House in yet another bind on issues from student loan forgiveness to immigration restrictions to vaccine mandates, all of which to one degree or another are premised on the idea that we’re in a pandemic. Biden’s words could jeopardize legal cases his administration might be preparing. His usual media defenders, like the Washington Post and NPR, sprang into action to spin Biden’s own words. Politico and CNN were given statements that in fact the pandemic is not over.
Biden’s own staffers are undermining the nominal president’s statement: White House cleans up Biden’s ‘very consistent’ claim pandemic is ‘over.’ “Biden’s press secretary said Wednesday that the president was speaking about public sentiment, not the state of emergency, during a headline-grabbing 60 Minutes interview that appeared to throw into disarray his administration’s agenda. ‘Just to step back for a second, when he made those comments, he was walking through the Detroit car show, the halls of the Detroit car show, he was looking around. We have to remember the last time that they had held that event was three years ago,’ Karine Jean-Pierre said during an appearance on MSNBC Wednesday. ‘We are in a different time. He’s been very consistent about that.’”
As Dan McLaughlin wrote in July, “Biden could put a stop to the public walkbacks immediately by firing one or more people for publicly contradicting him. There are two overlapping reasons why he hasn’t done that: He isn’t willing to stand up to his own staff, and at some level, he grasps that they keep walking back things that he should never have said in the first place. If you have spent much time around elderly men with declining faculties, you will recognize the all-too-common pattern of lashing out because they need help for things they could once do themselves, rather than being thankful for the help.”

To say we are living in dark times is an understatement. When the FBI is grabbing Mike Lindell’s cellphone at a Hardee’s, in a manner that my friend John Hinderaker properly compares to the Gestapo, you know you’re living in a country not far different from communist China.
Thank God we have a few politicians like DeSantis and Abbott who are prepared to stand up and mock them, but in truth, it’s mostly up to us now.

As RedState reported on Tuesday, the United States has now had more than two million apprehensions of illegal aliens at the Souther border in the current fiscal year. That’s the most in history and represents a major crisis, both for those charged with enforcing the law and for those breaking it.
With that being the setup, you’d think the Biden administration would be scrambling to enact better policies and provide some semblance of security at the border. After all, what’s going on is a political liability, and one that is becoming more front and center as each day pass.
But nah, instead the White House is gnashing its teeth about Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, who has been the go-to source for information about the current border crisis. You see, they don’t want to actually fix the problem, they just want you to not know about it.

Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee has called for an investigation of the Pediatric Transgender Clinic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) after shocking videos posted by Matt Walsh detailed a doctor’s promotion of “big money maker” transgender surgeries.
The videos obtained by Walsh also show apparent threats made against medical professionals at VUMC if they objected to the procedures, even for religious reasons.
“The ‘pediatric transgender clinic’ at Vanderbilt University Medical Center raises serious moral, ethical and legal concerns,” Lee said in a statement to The Daily Wire. “We should not allow permanent, life-altering decisions that hurt children or policies that suppress religious liberties, all for the purpose of financial gain. We have to protect Tennessee children, and this warrants a thorough investigation.”
