AARON RODGERS DONE FOR SEASON AS TORN ACHILLES CONFIRMED.
UPDATE: “You roll the dice, you take your chances:”
This is incredible. A Wisconsin bar offered free drinks if the Jets lost. After Rodgers went down, they started running up their tabs. The news was live when the jets won in overtime and everyone realized they had to pay. pic.twitter.com/1QDVJq9Zlr

BIDEN’S BETRAYAL OF 9/11: Biden robbed 9/11 families, freed an alternate 9/11 hijacker, and gave $2B to the Taliban. Now he’s boycotting the official commemorations.
In an exclusive investigation, Front Page Magazine reported that when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, 9/11 families became able to collect damages from the country’s bank reserves that were located in New York. Biden’s decision to enable the Taliban takeover had made it possible for victims to actually collect on a previous judgment against the Taliban.
Biden, reacting with all the ruthless speed that had been completely absent when Americans were trapped behind enemy lines in Kabul, rushed to freeze the money so the families couldn’t collect, apportioned half for “humanitarian aid” to the Afghans (over and above the $800 million he had already provided to the terror zone) and fought 9/11 families in court for the rest.
The Biden administration argued that allowing the 9/11 families to lay claim to the Taliban’s money would interfere with its foreign policy in Afghanistan. The administration created the
“Afghan Fund” in Switzerland with half of the money that Biden stole from 9/11 families. Why Switzerland? Because moving the money abroad, much like Obama’s illegal non-dollar ransom payments to Iran, was a way of avoiding congressional and judicial oversight.
That a presidential administration seized $3.5 billion from 9/11 families, moved it to Switzerland (in the tradition of Nazi war criminals) and set it up as a Swiss nonprofit not subject to American laws ought to have been one of the biggest stories, instead it’s been relentlessly buried. The fund’s board members include only one U.S. official, making the United States a minority, and the board only met three times as of earlier this year raising issues about what the fund is doing.

At least he didn’t compare his kitchen fire or the perils his Corvette found itself in to the troops, most of whom wouldn’t be old enough to remember the events of that fateful day. Instead they can remember that time a president visited them in Alaska to recount a Walter Mitty fantasy.
So where was Joe Biden on September 12th? “Exactly where he wanted: in the U.S. Senate.”

Biden didn’t arrive at Ground Zero until September 20th:

Yikes. The White House tells Fox News that Biden not commemorating 9/11 at an attack site like other presidents is fine because presidents weren’t still visiting Pearl Harbor after 22 years.
Nice Senator Blutarsky callback, but otherwise, this isn’t much of an excuse for the (p)resident. Hawaii is very far away from DC; the Pentagon is in the White House’s backyard. And Joe and company can easily ride on Amtrak, his favorite railroad, up to New York.

ROGER KIMBALL: Joe Biden’s global G20 embarrassment.
I am not sure that President Biden is still possessed of a guard he can drop. But if his recent performance in Hanoi is any indication, he does seem to be confused about the time of day. “Good evening, everyone. It is evening, isn’t it? This around the world in five days is interesting. Well, one of my staff members said, ‘Remember the famous song, Good Morning, Vietnam?’ Well, good evening, Vietnam.”
It was a feeble effort to make a joke, emphasis on “feeble.” The president’s increasingly wary aides took the hint. They had been holding their collective breath as he rambled on. “Lying dog-faced pony solider,” “John Wayne,” “my brother,” “climate change,” “worse than nuclear war.”
“We talked about stability,” Biden slurred, “we talked about the Third World, excuse me, the Third World, the uh, uh the Southern Hemisphere has access to change…”
This wasn’t going well. You can’t talk about “the Third World” in polite company anymore. Suddenly, Biden’s mic was cut and the dulcet tones of his press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre intervened: “Thank you everybody. This ends the press conference. Thanks everyone.” Unaware of what happened, Biden maundered on for a few seconds. Then, like Nietzsche’s Last Man, he gazed vacantly about him and blinked. Then he shuffled slowly off stage and disappeared behind the drapery.
Which explains why: Biden is the first president to spend 9/11 away from attack sites as VP Harris visits Ground Zero ceremony in NYC.
JAY BHATTACHARYA: The Government Censored Me and Other Scientists. We Fought Back—and Won.
On Friday, at long last, the Fifth Circuit Court ruled that we were not imagining it—that the Biden administration did indeed strong-arm social media companies into doing its bidding. The court found that the Biden White House, the CDC, the U.S. Surgeon General’s office, and the FBI “engaged in a years-long pressure campaign [on social media outlets] designed to ensure that the censorship aligned with the government’s preferred viewpoints.”
The judges described a pattern of government officials making “threats of ‘fundamental reforms’ like regulatory changes and increased enforcement actions” if we did not comply. The implication was clear. To paraphrase Al Capone: Nice company you have there. It’d be a shame if something were to happen to it.
It worked. According to the judges, “the officials’ campaign succeeded. The platforms, in capitulation to state-sponsored pressure, changed their moderation policies.”
In exposing this behavior—and in declaring it a likely violation of the First Amendment—the ruling is not just a victory for my fellow scientists and me, but for every single American.

DIRECTOR IS BAFFLED AFTER REPORTER ASKS WHY NO DIVERSITY IN FILM ABOUT 18TH CENTURY DENMARK: “The film takes place in 1750. Admittedly, entertainment reporters aren’t the brightest bulbs in the room, but this guy is from Denmark. Doesn’t he know the history of his own country? The scary answer is that he does, but he thinks that historical accuracy should be sacrificed on the altar of diversity. No wonder artists involved in films hate the new standards.”

How’s this crumpet to accompany the morning tea? Under the rubric “insanity” a friend just wrote with the news that the Department of Education has opened a civil rights investigation into New College of Florida. Why? Have they excluded black students from the tennis team? Have they made Mexican students sleep in the parking lot? Nothing so minor. No, this is serious. Put a pat of butter on that crumpet and listen: the former director of “DEI” (“diversity, equity, inclusion” for the innocents among my readers) has revealed that Chris Rufo, a trustee of New College, “mocked and misgendered” this creature after she (or so I am guessing) complained.
Serious stuff. Can a dawn raid from the Stasi (aka, the FBI) be far behind?
The news is full of such reports these days. It is partly comic, yes, but also, when you step back, profoundly depressing, for at least two reasons.

He’s talked about this before, but no one can find the film that he’s talking about. Just another one of those things brewed up in the fertile imagination of Joe Biden. What a rambling mess.
Watch as his staff cuts off the press conference even as he’s still answering a question from the podium, that’s how bad it was going. I don’t think I’ve seen this before, cutting him off mid-word. The staff knew that he was completely off the tracks at this point, and they moved to step in. Then they play music to get him off the stage and cover up anything he might be saying.
Apparently it’s tough for his White House handlers to get John Gill’s adrenochrome dosage just right when he’s on a road trip.

NEO: Trump as martyr.
In a post I wrote about three weeks ago, I mentioned that Trump might be becoming a martyr in the eyes of voters on the right. I certainly perceive him that way, and have for some time – not in the religious sense but in the more general sense of, “a person who suffers very much or is killed because of their religious or political beliefs, and is often admired because of it.”
It can be dangerous to make someone into a martyr. However, that person’s enemies can weigh all their options and believe that martyrdom is better than either letting the person live or continuing to let the person function freely. The Ayatollah Khomeini is a pretty good example; in this post I wrote about how in 1963 he was under a death sentence but his life was spared by the Shah’s government because they didn’t want to make him a martyr and therefore even more powerful. Of course, we know what ended up happening – and one of the first people Khomeini had executed was the general who had successfully argued years earlier for sparing Khomeini’s life.
I am not for a single moment suggesting that Trump is some sort of Khomeini and the left the Shah. What I’m trying to say, however, is that when there’s a figure that a political group sees as the enemy, there is the dilemma of how to counter that person and the movement represented by those who support the person, and there are many different ways to handle it.
Exit quote: “‘Martyr’ seems to have become part of Trump’s job description. He’s well aware of it. Will this perception affect anyone other than those who already support him? I’m speaking not about those on the left, or those who already hate his guts. I’m speaking about those in the middle who aren’t sure. Such people must still exist, right?”
Trump positioning himself as a martyr needs to be tempered with his role in the lockdowns of 2020, however:
The fact is former president Trump led the opposition to my decision to reopen Georgia – the first state in the country to do so.
While he listened to Fauci & parroted media talking points, I listened to hardworking Georgians.

DISPATCHES FROM WEIMAR AMERICA: Dak Prescott sedated for 11 hours to get massive leg tattoo.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott underwent anesthesia for 11 hours to get a massive leg tattoo, reports say.
The tattoo was unveiled in the spring, but news that he was sedated for it recently surfaced.
The piece, which takes up most of Prescott’s right leg, pays tribute to his brother Jace, who died of suicide in 2020, his mother Peggy who passed to cancer in 2013, and honors sports legends Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali and the late Kobe Bryant. The tattoo also shows Daffy Duck doing Dak’s signature touchdown celebration.
“People are gonna think it’s crazy and it is crazy,” Prescott told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I get that. But I’m crazy. That’s my point is I am. I know I am. I’m not afraid of nothing.”
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was shocked to learn that the star player was sedated over 10 hours for the procedure.
“I certainly didn’t know he was under for 10 hours,” Jones told the Star-Telegram. “Just so you’re clear, I had no idea about tattoos. I better get up to date on it. I had no idea that required that kind of sedation of any tattoo. It further explains to me why I don’t have a tattoo.”
