THREAD:

Social media platforms don’t care at all what the content is that keeps users engaged, so long as they keep the app or the browser tab open and scrolling.

AI is cheap and good enough to keep users scrolling but it does give lie to the whole “social” part of social media.

INCENTIVES MATTER: Former inmate tells Riley Gaines male ‘opportunists’ are using trans policies to get into female prisons. “92% of incarcerated women in California have been battered or beaten or are subject to some form of sexual abuse. They’re now forcibly housed with intact male inmates who 33.8% are registered sex offenders. So, to place women in a situation that’s very similar to their initial trauma, many of which led them to their incarceration, is cruel and unusual. And it has caused a lot of complex PTSD symptoms that start up developing in the entire population.”

But they’re sticking it to the patriarchy or something.

FIGHT THE POWER: Conservative professor sues ASU over its mandatory DEI training.

An outspoken conservative professor at Arizona State University has sued his employer, alleging its mandatory diversity, equity and inclusion training for faculty violates a two-year-old state law that forbids public agencies from requiring employees to engage in training “that presents any form of blame or judgment on the basis of race, ethnicity or sex.”

Owen Anderson, a professor of philosophy, religious studies and theology at ASU, is the primary plaintiff in the lawsuit filed Tuesday with the help of the conservative nonprofit Goldwater Institute, based in Arizona.

The complaint alleges ASU’s mandatory DEI training requires employees to agree that white heterosexuals are inherently racist and oppressive, among other subjective topics regarding white privilege and social justice.

It argues the training, and its test at the end, not only runs afoul of the relatively new state law, but the state constitution’s protections on free speech as well.

COME SEE THE RACISM INHERENT IN THE LEFTISM: UN secretary-general youth climate adviser calls for Whites to be stripped of power in ‘revolutionary fights.’

The United Nations’ Secretary-General António Guterres personally selected Pakistani-American Ayisha Siddiqa as one of his advisers to help “accelerat[e] the implementation of his climate action agenda,” a 2023 UN announcement stated. Siddiqa was a Time Woman of the Year in 2023 who has co-founded two youth climate activist organizations.

“The Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change provides him with practical and outcome-focused advice… and concrete recommendations, with a clear focus on accelerating the implementation of his climate action agenda. Convened under the auspices of the United Nations [as it]… works to accelerate global climate action,” the announcement said.

One of the criteria for candidates landing the two-year assignment was a “demonstrated commitment to the UN’s values.”

According to her social media posts, Siddiqa is more than an environmentalist. She unabashedly promotes radical leftist beliefs like abolishing the police, espousing socialist ideals, sharing Marxist-themed and anti-capitalist content while repeatedly denigrating White people.

Defund the UN and send the whole organization packing so it can feed on some other host.

BIDEN REACHES ANOTHER RECORD LOW: When the U.S. Embassy in Haiti was closed, it marked the 11th such American overseas facility to be shut down since Joe Biden took the oath of office as Commander-in-Chief.

“This record of failure is particularly noteworthy given that Biden bumbled his way into office promising to ‘restore America’s standing in the world,’ which is still listed on a White House website as an ‘immediate priority’ of his administration,” according to Issues & Insights (I&I).

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Bobulinski Plays Rough With Dems Raskin, Goldman, and AOC. “My takeaway from the behavior of Raskin, Goldman, and AOC is that they sure are skittish for people who keep saying that there is nothing to be found out by this investigation.”

A VERY PUBLIC EDUCATION: Round Rock Independent School District’s Mexican-American Studies course describes restrictions on immigration as oppression, claims the terms ‘undocumented’ and ‘illegal’ perpetuate stereotypes.

Similarly, a unit map for a unit entitled “Resistance and Liberation” identifies DACA (a program that delays deportation for illegal aliens who came to the US when they were children, as well as making them eligible for work permits) as a form of resistance against oppression. A learning goal of the unit is “I can describe how significant events from 1975 to present have resisted systems of oppression against Mexican Americans, such as DACA and Texas Dreamers Act.”

The curriculum also seems to criticize the existence of immigration laws by highlighting the political organization “Jolt Texas” while teaching about its founder, Cristina Tzintzun Ramirez, in a unit on “Contributions of Mexican Americans to the American Identity.” Jolt Texas’s stated goals include ending “the criminalization of undocumented immigrants” along with advocating for a climate agenda, socialized healthcare, and tuition-free college education.

Communist propaganda, straight up.

FOR “EQUITY:” Washington State Does Away with the Bar Exam. “All of this is happening, apparently, because the current Washington State Bar is 83% white and 56% male in a state that, according to the US Census, is 77% white (and 50% male).”

UMM, YES, THINGS HAVE GOTTEN MUCH WORSE FOR FREE SPEECH ON CAMPUS (PART 2!): The data just keeps piling up.

The change we saw happen in 2014 was not simply that students were suddenly not as good on free speech. It was also that students who weren’t good on free speech were entering campuses that already had administrators hostile to free speech. It is that collaboration that has created the disaster we have seen on campus — perfectly illustrated by events like the shouting down of U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Stuart Kyle Duncan at Stanford University, which was the result of students and administrators working together to silence disfavored speech and deplatform speakers they didn’t like.

WHEN OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY RUNS OUT: Vladimir Putin ‘sends oil tanker to save Cuba’ but there’s one big problem.

Cuba, heavily impacted by US restrictions, a fragile tourism sector, and a declining local product [and, you know communism -Steve], has been brought to its knees. However, it seems that Putin is stepping in to provide some support to the troubled nation.

Jorge Pinon, a top research fellow at the University of Texas and ex-oil industry boss, said to the Havana Times: “Cuba’s dependence on Russia and its other allies, cemented by their political similarities, is the only thing the country can count on.”

He went on to explain: “Russia has plenty of crude oil and, because of US sanctions imposed on Moscow after Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, and is looking for new markets. Also, Russian crude from the Urals region is the kind best suited to Cuban refineries’ capabilities. In fact, the refinery in Cienfuegos was designed specifically handle it,” reports the Daily Star.

Despite having the ability to use oil for energy, there’s one big problem. The expert revealed: “The most pressing problem for Havana is how to pay for it.”

My takeaway from this report is that Cuba has a problem paying for stuff but the situation will be improved with a tanker of oil, provided they can pay for it.
