KRUISER: Trump Derangement Syndrome Meltdown of the Week — ‘ZOMG! THE DEPORTATIONS!’ Edition.

UPDATE (From Ed): Talk about an October Surprise — I wasn’t expecting Trump’s proposal to get this endorsement so late in the game, but here we are in 2024:

CHANGE:

Trump is running a solid campaign and DeSantis has done wonders turning Florida into a solid Red state.

MEANWHILE, OVER AT VODKAPUNDIT: Survey Says… LET FREEDOM RING! “Longtime Sharp VodkaPundit Readers™ know I don’t focus much on polls but this one is exciting.”

EVERYTHING IS GOING SWIMMINGLY: Home Sales on Track for Worst Year Since 1995.

Sales of existing homes in the U.S. are on track for the worst year since 1995—for the second year in a row.

Persistently high home prices and elevated mortgage rates are keeping potential home buyers on the sidelines. Sales of previously owned homes in the first nine months of the year were lower than the same period last year, the National Association of Realtors said Wednesday.

Existing-home sales in September fell 1% from the prior month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.84 million, NAR said, the lowest monthly rate since October 2010. Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had estimated a monthly decrease of 0.5%.

September sales fell 3.5% from a year earlier.

After a sluggish 2023, economists and real-estate executives widely expected activity to pick up in 2024.

Based on what, exactly?

Buying a home, like having a baby, is a Yea vote on the future — and Americans aren’t doing much of either lately.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Trump Isn’t Hitlering Enough to Help Kamala. “The “Trump is Hitler 2.0″ pitch is so desperate I can almost smell Harris’s flop sweat through my computer. Seriously, the Opinion sections of The New York Times and The Washington Post have been trying to sell that hard all year and it hasn’t stuck. Perhaps that’s because it’s such tired shtick.”

COLORADO:

A WHALE OF A GOOD TIME: Who Is Polymarket’s Trump Whale? Site Reveals French Trader Bet $28 Million On Trump Win.

A French national is behind four of the five biggest Polymarket bettors on a Trump victory next month, a company spokesperson told several outlets Thursday.

Those four accounts – Fredi9999, Theo4, PrincessCaro and Michie – have a combined $28.6 million on Trump election bets, according to CNBC, making up four of the five largest holders of Trump victory shares.

That makes up more than 1% of the $2.4 billion wagered on Polymarket’s $2.4 billion presidential election winner market.

The big Trump backer is someone with “extensive trading experience and a financial services background,” a Polymarket spokesperson told Bloomberg, adding the trader “is taking a directional position based on personal views of the election.”

The blockchain-based platform “has not identified any information to suggest that this user manipulated, or attempted to manipulate, the market,” the spokesperson added.

Here’s to hoping he makes a killing.

ARIZONA: What happens when you mail in your early ballot?

After all those steps are completed, the ballots — still in their affidavit envelopes — are taken out of the secure vault at the Runbeck facility to make their way to be tabulated. The ballots are then removed from the envelopes to be inspected and confirmed to be from this election before being tabulated.

Bipartisan teams of two ensure that every ballot and affidavit envelope are separated to ensure that the integrity of a voter’s secret ballot remains intact. If the ballot cannot be read or has an overvote — when a ballot has more votes for a race than is allowed — it is sent to adjudication.

If that happens, a bipartisan team evaluates the ballot to determine what the voter’s intent was, and both members of the team have to agree on the decision.

Finally, those tabulated results are then stored on computer servers that are air-gapped, meaning they have no way to connect to the internet. Those computers are inaccessible except to the highest ranked non-elected election officials until Election Day. These early ballots will be the first set of results released on election night.

Except, it seems, in Maricopa County.

OF COURSE HE DID: Tim Walz Welcomed Chinese Communist Party Officials Into His Nebraska Classroom. “In February 1996, a delegation of three ‘educators’ from southeast China visited Walz’s Alliance High School social studies class ‘to study the education system,’ according to an unearthed Alliance Times-Herald article. However, the delegation included CCP officials who at the time worked for an institute serving a Chinese influence and intelligence agency, according to a DCNF review of Chinese government records.”

WOEING: Boeing reports $6 billion quarterly loss as striking workers vote whether to accept contract offer.

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers were voting at union halls on a contract that would raise pay by 35% over four years. Before the doors opened at a hall near Boeing’s factory in Renton, Washington, workers joined a snaking line outside, where there were a few scattered calls for the offer’s rejection.

“It’s going to be a split vote,” predicted Brian Hatcher, who has worked at Boeing for 15 years and said he voted “no” largely because the proposal did not restore pensions that were eliminated a decade ago.

The strike, which started Sept. 13, Their strike since mid-September has served as an early test for Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, who became chief executive in August.

In his first remarks to investors, Ortberg said Boeing needs “a fundamental culture change,” and he laid out his plan to turn the company around after years of heavy losses and damage to the aerospace giant’s reputation.

It’s the self-inflicted wounds to Boeing’s reputation that could take the longest to heal.

LIES, DAMNED LIES, AND THE DEMOCRAT-MEDIA COMPLEX:

Exit quote: “I could not get a similarly sourced piece published on a fantastic claim about Kamala at any major outlet, and that’s as it should be.”

As for Jake Tapper, whatever credibility he might have once had, he squandered long ago.

THE NEW SPACE RACE: Blue Origin launches 2nd human-rated New Shepard rocket, nails landing.

Jeff Bezos’ aerospace company launched its uncrewed NS-27 mission at 11:30 a.m. EDT (1530 GMT) today, sending a brand-new New Shepard rocket-capsule combo on a brief trip to suborbital space. No people launched aboard NS-27, but the mission flew 12 research payloads, five of them on the booster and seven inside the capsule. The rocket reached a maximum altitude of around 332,000 feet (101 kilometers) before returning for a landing around seven minutes and 20 seconds later.

Roughly three minutes after that, the company’s new crew capsule, the RSS Kármán Line, came in for a parachute landing in the West Texas desert.

Nice job, sticking the landing. Next up: reusability.

WHAT BREITBART CALLED THE “DEMOCRAT-MEDIA COMPLEX” IS NO MYTH:

Related: Donald Trump Leads Kamala Harris Among Arab Americans. “While Arab and Muslim Americans overwhelmingly backed President Joe Biden in 2020, that support has significantly eroded amid anger over the Biden administration’s ongoing support for Israel’s offensives in Gaza and Lebanon.”

And yet it’s Biden-Harris whose support for Israel is equivocal at the very best — when the administration isn’t actively undermining Israel’s war effort. And it’s Trump who has fully embraced Bibi Netanyahu doing whatever he needs to do.

SPOILER: THEY WILL NOT EASE UP ON THE BULLSHIT.

Trump is likely the most vetted presidential candidate in history. Anything “good” came out years ago.
