WHAT’S A BROWN MEDICAL DEGREE CURRENTLY WORTH?

Not as much as it used to be.

The cost, however, is still dear.

More at the X thread.

CHANGE: GOP Reaps Rewards of Party Switchers.

Regardless of personal motivations, we are watching the long, slow death of the Florida Democrats. Recent party switches are just another nail in the coffin. The policy consequences could be huge—how will future Democratic administrations approach Cuba, for example? The electoral calculus changes too. With Florida out of reach, will Democrats double-down on the Midwest? Try to claw their way back in Texas? Expanding the playing field will be crucial to the party’s long-term prospects.

Southern party switching in the Obama years made sense: conservative legislators joined the conservative party. Recent party switchers have been more transparently opportunistic—akin to swapping jerseys in the 9th inning with your team down five runs. Democrats have every right to be upset.

But we shouldn’t miss the forest for the trees. Valdes and Cassel are symptoms of a larger problem: Democrats have collapsed in places they used to carry comfortably.

Florida is in the bag. Meanwhile, Scott Presler continues working to do in New Jersey what he did in Pennsylvania:

Want to clean up Colorado next, Scott?

WELL, WHY NOT? SHE’S NEVER BEEN HELD TO ACCOUNT:

Or at least not yet.

DEMOCRATS CHOSE THE FORM OF THEIR DESTRUCTOR.

Dr. Strangetweet:

We told you to leave us alone.
We didn’t want to get too political.
We didn’t want to get too involved.

But you made us.

You went after our kids, our jobs, our money, and our lives.

You made us care. Remember?

Well this *waves hand* is our response.

Enjoy the bed you made.

You’ve wasted our tax dollars on your pet projects and money laundering for decades.

You’ve wasted our tax dollars on useless government programs and departments for decades.

And we have nothing to show for it.

Not just we, the taxpayers, but we as Americans. “Hurr durr America’s standing in the world.”

Who cares? The world sees us as a cash cow they can milk and milk until it runs so dry, the very citizens paying the taxes are hurting.

And if that tap is turned off, you know what the world will do?

They’ll laugh and move on.
We’re broke.
Kaput.
Nada.
Trying to squeeze blood from a stone.

We’re out.

And the rest of the world, who wouldn’t have our back today doesn’t give a damn.

I take that back. There are maybe 4 countries.

“That’s because of Trump!!”

Boy, are you stupid. They don’t love the Democrats. They just want the cash.

And as long as the US puts the world in front of its own citizens, they don’t care what happens to us.

So look…

Take all your yelling and screaming about Trump and Elon and the young men who are subjecting the deep state to the glaring glow of the ’tism, and, respectfully, get bent.

This IS what people voted for.
This IS what payback looks like.
You thought Trump was gonna arrest all his political opponents?

LOL a masterful mind-melt DJT did to you.

No, see his ultimate revenge is sunlight.

Pulling back the curtain on your corruption, exposing all your deeds done in secret on the taxpayer dime.

That is his vengeance.

Watching you stand by, wailing as he slowly and methodically disassembles your power structures and your money laundering and your kickbacks…

That gives him more pleasure than arrest anyone.

See, he learned from his arrest:

Don’t make martyrs.
Why go after the person, exalting them to a martyr status when, instead, you can destroy them by destroying the things they love.

“Like the Constitution!!”

LOL Find Department of Education in the Constitution for me, chief.
The old adage is true:

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

And right now, DJT is chilly.
But this doesn’t end there.

See, there is another guy mentioned above that just wanted to shoot rockets into space and make electric cars.

And he was one of you for a long time, until you went crazy. He stood against your crazy so you went after him.

How’d that work out for you?

So right now, you have DJT being so cold, the Arctic shivers when he shows up.

But Elon? Elon is a straight killer.

Just call him Sub Zero. You created the current version of Elon.

Him being the hand of Don destroying your systems, revealing them to the American citizens? That’s your doing.

He is your fault.

Let that sink in.

Hell hath no fury like an electorate scorned… eventually.

GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS: Band Dads Thwart Active Shooter In Pasadena. “The MSM loves to report on successful mass shootings to further their gun control agenda of mass civilian disarmament, but pays far less attention when one is thwarted.”

DEMOCRATS DON’T LIKE DEMOCRACY AND THEY LIKE CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLICS EVEN LESS:

Related from Mollie Hemingway: “This last week is complete vindication of the claim that cries about supposed ‘threats to democracy’ only made sense if understood as “‘threats to bureaucracy.'”

MIKE ROSEN: Obama’s third term as president ends with a gasp and wheeze.

The obstacles and landmines Biden planted in his successor’s policy path will be easily cleared by President Trump, as he amply demonstrated just hours after the inauguration with a tsunami of executive orders overriding all of Biden’s, on which the ink had barely dried. Clearly, Biden’s deteriorating state of mind could not have crafted the intricate obstructions pouring out of the oval office in the final days of his presidency.

Instead, the fingerprints of White House staff were all over them. USA Today calculated that three quarters of Biden’s top 100 advisors had worked for Obama. The open secret in Democrat DC circles was that Biden didn’t matter. He may have had the title of president, but Obama-era young radical aides were really running the country. (And those whiz kids must have had a hearty laugh inserting America-hating left-wing billionaire George Soros among Biden’s picks for the Presidential Medal of Freedom.)

Biden was the figurehead for the equivalent of Obama’s third term, who had promised to “fundamentally transform America.” NPR reported that 12 of Biden’s first 16 senior appointments were Obama alumni. Biden was a puppet whose ego was flattered by handlers portraying him as the new FDR who would create his own “social justice” New Deal (including a Green New Deal), expanding the administrative state, driving up social spending, opening the border, and codifying the Left’s cultural agenda. Rather than bringing spending sharply down from the hyper-elevated COVID levels, they pretended endless deficits don’t matter and don’t ignite inflation. Turns out, they do.

What matters just as much is derailing the federal gravy train that props up Democrats and their causes far beyond any genuine popularity — but the DOGE boys are on it.

NOTHING IS MORE FRIGHTENING TO THE OTHERWISE UNEMPLOYABLE THAN SEEING THEIR GRAVY TRAIN DERAILED:

It’s hard to believe Trump is only in his third week.

48 vCPUs are throttled curating the USAID grant network for every single EIN, will take a while (~12 hours). Which is fine, it gives
@watilo time to prettify it in the morning.

Blame the federal government for creating such computational complexity.

But here’s a teaser – this is what the network for Defending Democracy Together Institute looks like. The graph represents grants from various USAID-affiliated NGOs flowing to Kristol’s non-profit.

Oh, there’s profit — just not the kind that productive people must actually earn.

I went into some detail on Kristol’s grift yesterday.

SARAH HOYT’S SHOCKED FACE IS ENJOYING A LITTLE NAP:

I let my paid subscription to ChatGPT lapse last month. While Grok isn’t quite as good at organizing my research, over the last few months it’s gotten at least as fast as ChatGPT, the results are generally superior, and (near as I can tell so far) more trustworthy.

I also have yet to see Grok hallucinate anything big. The last straw for my paid subscription was when ChatGPT didn’t just invent a WWI history book with a title that was so close to my query that it set off “Hallucination!” alarm bells, but invented the historian, too.

ASSUMES A FACT NOT IN EVIDENCE:

The angriest ones are in on the grift.

MORE LIKE THIS, PLEASE: Getting better: How Louisiana is raising reading and math scores.

Louisiana, never known for education excellence was the big winner on the 2024 NAEP when it comes to progress in the last few years, writes Chad Aldeman. “It was the closest state to recovering from COVID-related declines in 8th grade reading and math, and it was the only state in which fourth-grade reading scores were higher in 2024 than in 2019.”

“Over the last 10 years, Mississippi is the only state to make gains across all performance levels in fourth-grade reading,” he writes. “While the bottom was falling out in most states, with the scores of low-performing students falling 10 or 20 or even 30 points, the scores of the lowest-performing students in Mississippi rose 9 points.” As a result, Mississippi ranks 7th in fourth-grade reading overall, and is “#1 for low-income students, #3 for Black students, and tied for #1 for Hispanic students.”

Much more at the link, all of it good.

GET’EM SKEERED AND KEEP THE SKEER ON’EM: The Dynamic Duo Have the Dems on the Run. “When your enemy is scared, don’t give him a moment to recover his wits. When he’s on the ground, don’t let him up. When he flees, pursue him. Because sometimes a simple win isn’t enough. Trump and Musk have the Democrats scared, and every indication is they mean to keep them scared.”

AMERICA: “Do you think the Democrats learned anything from their historic loss?”

Democrats: Woke DEI teacher complains about Trump removing their pronouns in parody-like speech.

Tracy Castro-Gill, 49, the former leader of the Seattle Public School District’s Ethnic Studies program, took the podium at a state House of Representatives Committee on Education public hearing on Thursday to complain about Trump’s measures.

‘My name is Dr. Tracy Castro-Gill, my pronouns are they/them. I am a disabled queer Chicanx educator and scholar in Washington state with my expertise on curriculum and instruction,’ Castro-Gill said in her long-winded tirade.

Chicanx – which is among phrases banned by the Trump administration – has been used in some circles to refer to people of Mexican descent.

Castro-Gill said getting rid of it, and the other terms that apply, denies their ‘very presence and humanity.’

Also: “Daily Wire reporter Luke Rosiak wrote a piece on Castro-Gill in 2022 that exposed they were married to a convicted child molester.”

Stay in front of the press, please.

Exit question: Again, why do they always look like that?

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Dude, Where’s My Bureaucracy? “This is the agency that the swampiest Swamp people are giving a full-throated defense of. The people running it should probably be rounded up in a paddy wagon rather than merely getting pink slips. There is no justification for most of what USAID has been funding and the Democrats are acting as if Trump and Musk are smelting their Holy Grail to sell on eBay.”
