THE 21st CENTURY ISN’T TURNING OUT AS I HAD HOPED: Kohler Just Unveiled a Toilet Camera.
Kohler, best known for its plumbing products including toilets and faucets, is entering the photography game with a camera that goes inside a toilet and analyzes photos of people’s stool.
Kohler describes its new Dekoda toilet camera, as reported by CNET, as a “first-of-its-kind health tracker” that analyzes gut health, hydration, and whether there is blood in a person’s stool. Gut health and hydration are generally practical ways to measure a person’s overall health and inform potential lifestyle changes, but blood can signal a much more serious underlying health issue, and people are generally advised to pay close attention to their bowel movements.
Cameras and imaging technology have grown increasingly important in healthcare. Scientists are developing thermal cameras that may become part of routine checkups, companies combine photos and AI to identify a pet’s health problems, and patients have been swallowing pill-sized cameras to help doctors diagnose internal maladies for years. Rather than look inside someone’s digestive system, though, Kohler’s new camera looks at the output.

The demolition to prepare for the new ballroom facility on the White House grounds is underway, and a lot of people in Washington aren’t happy about it, and contend President Trump has rushed through the usual review and approval process in order to bring a little of that Mar-a-Lago style to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. While the exterior of the White House looks largely unchanged from the first photograph taken of it in 1846, the interior has been completely gutted and rebuilt. I wonder how many Americans are even aware of the large-scale renovations conducted during the presidency of Harry S. Truman. Historian Michael Beschloss wrote:
Except for the four exterior walls, today’s presidential residence is almost entirely a 1952 imitation of the original.
In 1947, the White House was in danger of internal physical collapse. One day, while President Harry S. Truman took a bath upstairs, a great Blue Room chandelier threatened to crash down on his wife, Bess, and her guests from the Daughters of the American Revolution. The president later joked that he might have unexpectedly dropped through the ceiling naked on the ladies below, and he confessed that the incident made him nervous.
The upstairs floor, he noted, “sagged and moved like a ship at sea.”
Upon investigating the situation, Truman was told that hasty renovations, demanded by various impatient presidents in the past, had led to the weakening or removal of load-bearing walls and other supporting structures. Beams were “staying up from force of habit only,” he was informed, and the mansion had become a firetrap. Truman later wrote that with so many thousands of visitors and presidential guests, “My heart trembles when I think of the disasters we might have had.”
The following year, his daughter Margaret’s piano broke through the floor of the family quarters. In August, Truman recorded in his diary that with his wife away, he had been “moved into the Lincoln Room — for safety — imagine that!” He wrote to his sister that the White House was “about to fall in.” That November, after the president won a full term over Thomas E. Dewey, the first family was whisked across Pennsylvania Avenue to reside in the presidential guest quarters called Blair House.
When I read about pianos crashing through the floor of the White House, I wonder how any teacher can make history sound boring.

SCHLONGED: Alabama police arrest woman wearing phallic costume during ‘No Kings’ protest.
Those in or passing through Fairhope on Saturday may have witnessed a bizarre sight: a person dressed in a giant inflatable phallic costume being apprehended by local authorities.
In a video that spread on social media over the weekend, three officers from the Fairhope Police Department arrested and restrained a person attending a No Kings protest dressed in a costume shaped like male anatomy as others in attendance recorded the incident on their phones.
The person arrested was identified as Jeana Renea Gamble, a 61-year-old Fairhope resident, according to Lt. Shane Nolte with the police department. Other outlets have also reported her name as Reana Gamble Fletcher. On the social media app Threads, a user identifying herself as Gamble criticized local officials and their conduct. She previously posted a picture of her wearing the costume and carrying a sign that read “No Dick-tator.”
No Kings protests, also known internationally as No Dictators or No Tyrants protests, is a series of demonstrations, largely in the United States, against what the organizers describe as authoritarian policies of President Donald Trump and corruption in his administration.
Following the incident, Gamble said officers initially told her she was being arrested for “lewd and lascivious behavior.” A statement released by the Fairhope Police Department on Monday said she has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.

JOE CONCHA: No Kings is the Seinfeld of protests: A show about nothing.
The party has learned nothing after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, instead opting to continue the fascist/Nazi rhetoric, which has resulted in some protesters openly cheering Kirk’s death and even mocking it.
“Charlie Kirk is a piece of garbage,” one female protester told the Daily Signal in Washington on Saturday. “Hitler is dead. I’m glad Hitler’s dead. Evil people have no place in my world. He was a hateful human being. It was disgusting the things he said and did.”
And what was disgusting was that a Chicago elementary school teacher, Lucy Martinez, simulated Kirk getting shot in the neck in a video that has now been viewed millions of times.
“Let’s go to when [Trump] shoots himself in the bunker,” read another No Kings sign in reference to Hitler taking his own life as Allied troops were closing in on his bunker in Berlin at the end of World War II. “You gotta grab a gun, we gotta turn around the guns on this fascist system. These ICE agents gotta get shot and wiped out. The same machinery that’s on full display right there has to get wiped out,” shouted an unidentified speaker at a No Kings rally in Chicago.
And in Portland, one woman shared that she hoped to see “the obituary that we’re all waiting for tomorrow,” and confirmed to a reporter she was speaking about Trump.
So what were these protests really about? What was the goal? That’s about as clear as mud, because the whole theme of No Kings, as if we live in a country ruled by one, makes zero sense.
Trump was duly elected. In the Electoral College, it wasn’t even close over Kamala Harris (312-226). He won the popular vote as well. He can’t run for a third term. And if Trump were actually a king, protests would not be permitted.
We’re hearing that these protests will hurt Trump, but his numbers keep going up during a government shutdown that Democrats are responsible for. The RealClearPolitics average of polls has him at 45.4% approval, which is higher than Obama’s at this stage of his second term (43.7%) and George W. Bush’s (39.7%). Compare that with the Democratic Party, which stands at just 34.7% approval.
Popular podcaster host Joe Rogan, a former supporter of Bernie Sanders, summed up the makeup of the people who attended No Kings protests.
“All those people that are protesting on the streets, 99% of them are losers,” Rogan said. “The other ones work for the Fed. It’s FBI agents and losers, it’s all it is. The whole f***ing protest is FBI agents and losers.”
As Savanah Hernandez told Fox News’ Jessie Watters, “there were two different factions of protesters. We had the one faction who had no idea why they were there, no idea why they were protesting. They were simply programmed by CNN or whatever liberal mainstream media they’d been listening to, and they were there. You had the other faction of protesters who were there to call for political violence against their opposition.”
On the plus side, regarding the former group, a lot of elderly boomers got plenty of fresh air, sunshine, and aerobic dancing over the weekend. As Scott Jennings reminds his fellow CNN panelists, “you guys spend your time however you want. It’s a free country. Not a monarchy.”

On Oct. 20, 2024, Donald Trump performed one of the finest acts of campaign trolling in the history of American politics by working the fryer and serving meals at a McDonald’s franchise in eastern Pennsylvania. “Now I have worked at McDonald’s,” he told reporters while wearing an employee apron and leaning out the drive-thru window. “I’ve now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala, she never worked here.”
Trump’s ingenious gambit had the intended effect by highlighting the lack of evidence for Kamala Harris’s dubious claim that she “did fries and … the cashier” at a McDonald’s in California during the summer of 1983. It all started in August 2024, when the Washington Free Beacon published a bombshell report on the weird circumstances surrounding Harris’s alleged employment. To this day, there is still no credible evidence to suggest that Harris actually worked at McDonald’s—a detail she revealed for the first time while running for president in 2019.
It was a riot following this story last year, as no one in the DNC-MSM would admit that it began at a conservative Website (the Washington Free Beacon) before Trump’s appearance at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s forced it into becoming a universally seen story. Of course, unlike the Harris campaign, we do know conclusively that Trump really was employed by McDonald’s in his youth:

THE NEW SPACE RACE: Duffy says NASA will open Artemis 3 lander contract to competition.
In appearances on CNBC and Fox News on Oct. 20, NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy said NASA would allow other companies to compete to land astronauts on the moon for Artemis 3, a mission currently assigned to SpaceX’s Starship under a Human Landing System (HLS) contract awarded in 2021.
“SpaceX had the contract for Artemis 3,” Duffy said on CNBC. “The problem is they’re behind. They push their timelines out, and we’re in a race against China. The president and I want to get to the moon in this president’s term.”
“So, I’m going to open up the contract,” he continued. “I’m going to let other space companies compete with SpaceX, like Blue Origin, and again, whatever one can get us there first, to the moon, we’re going to take.”
Duffy made similar remarks on Fox News. “SpaceX has the contract. SpaceX is an amazing company. They do remarkable things, but they’re behind schedule,” he said. “So, I’m in the process of opening that contract up.”
Good. No contractor should have the luxury of taking anything for granted.
