WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT RIGHTS GROUPS: Israeli forces rescued two hostages held in a Rafah apartment building. During the rescue, they came under heavy fire from neighboring apartment buildings housing many additional terrorists. Israel called in airstrikes against said buildings. So, inevitably: “Rights groups condemned the airstrikes on Rafah.”
And by the way, this is why you should care about this sort of thing, even if you are wholly uninterested in Israel or the Middle East. These purported “rights groups” want to impose rules on Israel that would make it impossible for Israel to successfully fight terrorism. And then once these rules get imposed on Israel, that will be precedent to impose them on the US, NATO, etc., so that no one in the West will be able to successfully fight terrorism. A while back, I thought about writing a book on this, with a title something like “Canary in Coal Mine: The NGO’s War Against Israel.” Maybe I should consider it again.
RABBI MICHAEL BARCLAY: Has Joe Biden Become Possessed, Or Is He Just High as a Kite? “It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, and Biden’s pupils were so dilated that his eyes were solid black while he was reinterpreting the words of the special prosecutor. Looking at previous speeches, it seems that all of his “big” speeches have the same image: significantly dilated pupils. Since I don’t actually believe that he is the anti-Christ, I started doing some research about what that could mean. I am not a doctor, but there are enough studies easily available that it isn’t hard to integrate the data with the images of Biden’s eyes when he speaks.”
SUPPOSE THAT JOE ISN’T ACTUALLY ALWAYS WRONG, BUT THAT’S THE WAY TO BET: IDF Rescues Two Hostages in City Biden Wants Israel to Leave Alone. “The ABC News report interestingly included Joe Biden’s warning to Israel not to go into Rafah, at least not without a ‘detailed plan’ on how to protect civilians. Biden and his team tried employing that inversion in Gaza City and Khan Younis as well, arguing that fighting a war that Hamas started was somehow de-legitimized by Hamas’ strategy of using civilians as human shields. This week, Biden all but demanded a halt in the IDF’s march on Hamas’ last significant Gaza stronghold.”
Neither our friends nor our enemies listen much to Joe anymore.
IS THIS EVEN AMERICA ANY LONGER? There’s apparently just so much bacon Americans care to eat, leaving pork producers scrambling.
Demand for pork in the United States is down 9% from 20 years ago, researchers from Kansas State University estimate, according to The Wall Street Journal. Production, meanwhile, is up 25%. That means producers now have more pork than they can sell, the report says.
The National Pork Board, which provides consumer information and industry research about pork, estimates that annual pork consumption will drop by another 2.2 pounds per capita over the next 10 years if more young people do not start eating the meat.
“We need to make pork relevant with the future consumer,” senior vice president for market growth for the National Pork Board told the Journal.
Bacon is always relevant.

CHANGE: Elon Musk Isn’t the Only Billionaire Fighting Delaware.
Tripadvisor, under media executive Greg Maffei, wants to reincorporate in Nevada, over the objection of minority shareholders. Billionaire Barry Diller is awaiting a ruling that could relax Delaware’s scrutiny of transactions like the 2020 split of some of his online businesses. And Elon Musk, who reincorporated Twitter as X in Nevada last year, has said he would ask shareholders about reincorporating Tesla TSLA 2.12%increase; green up pointing triangle in Texas.
“I recommend incorporating in Nevada or Texas if you prefer shareholders to decide matters,” Musk posted on X on Jan. 30, the day a Delaware court threw out his $55.8 billion Tesla pay package. On Thursday, Neuralink, Musk’s closely held brain-implant company, incorporated in Nevada, state records show.
Delaware, of course, has long held primacy in the world of U.S. corporate law, including the scrutiny devoted to transactions between a public company and any shareholder who effectively controls it. Nevada and Texas are among the states that want a piece of that business and are hoping to appeal to at least some companies by setting up an alternative legal environment.
Companies most commonly register in their home state or Delaware. Still, states are doing more to compete.
Delaware played politics with Musk over a business decision and it will cost them.

There should be consequences for disruptive behavior. There would be if these were Trump supporters.

BUY PHYSICAL MEDIA: Sony Is Killing Entire Purchased Digital Libraries, Start Buying Physical Media Again. “Funimation, a streaming service specializing in anime, recently announced that digital libraries held by subscribers on its platform would become inaccessible after April 2. The news comes as parent company Sony decided to merge Funimation with its recently acquired rival, Crunchyroll. The move has left many subscribers wondering about the fate of their digital collections.”
Pretty niche stuff but, still, buy physical media.

DON SURBER: Let newspapers die: They dropped objectivity and with it credibility. “The total circulation of all newspapers in the United States is 20 million. That is one newspaper sold for every 16 people. Even if 3 people read each newspaper, that means more than 80% of the country does not read a newspaper. Just 14 years ago circulation was 45 million. . . . Total revenues are down from just under $50 billion in 2005 and 2006 to a little more than $20 billion today. On Thursday, Tucker Carlson released his interview with Putin. Within just a few hours, the interview attracted 100 million views. By Saturday night, it topped 185 million views — which is 7 times the combined circulation of every newspaper in America. . . . One reason newspapers are failing to maintain their circulation is their failure to maintain their credibility. Trust in all news organizations fell from 76% in 2016 to 58% in 2021. It is not that the media gets the story wrong; it is that the media seldom admits it was wrong.”
Conducted off the coast of the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Kauai, Hawaii, the first part of this multi-sensor test successfully demonstrated that the Aegis Weapon System tracked and discriminated a complex target scene of a Medium Range Ballistic Missile target with countermeasures.
The second part of this test included the firing of a Standard Missile – 3 Block IIA (SM-3 Blk IIA), which intercepted the same Medium Range Ballistic Missile target, verifying additional functionality of the SM-3 Blk IIA.
Together, this test demonstrated one of the most complicated target discrimination and intercept missions by the Aegis Weapon System to date.
My father-in-law, who worked on the program for almost 20 years before his retirement in 2022 joked, “I didn’t think they could do that without me.”
Jokes aside, parts of the military do still work.

The far more difficult issue is whether or not this debt is being accumulated responsibly, and will result in a positive return in the future.
This is where JPMorgan boss Dimon gets concerned: in a slowing economy, can the government expect to see an uptick in output to offset the investment?
“Instead of focusing on the level of debt, we should be asking: What is the return on the investment?” Professor Veldkamp added. “If the government is issuing debt to invest in high-return projects, then debt is good. If it is not, then the debt will be tough to pay off because of low future productivity.”
The first-pass answer to whether Washington borrows wisely is “No.” The second pass answer is “Hell no.”
STACY MCCAIN: Joe Biden’s Punch Line Presidency. “As several commentators have noted, this finding — and the fact that Hur recommended no criminal charges, despite the clear evidence of Biden’s guilt — raises questions about the federal effort to prosecute former President Donald Trump for very similar offenses. When you consider the extent to which ‘get Trump’ has been the organizing principle of the Biden administration since Day One, this is a significant setback to that aspect of their agenda. But that wasn’t the worst of it. . . . That Biden has ‘diminished faculties and faulty memory’ is not really news to anyone who’s been paying attention, but having it stated so clearly in a Special Counsel’s report? ‘Republicans pounce!'”
He was diminished and faulty when he ran in 2020, they just covered it up. Now they’ve stopped, pretty much in unison across the entire establishment.
Flashback: The ‘cabal’ that bragged of foisting Joe Biden on us must answer for his failed presidency.
