OH: Paul Pelosi attack: David DePape sentenced to life in prison in state trial.
DePape was also sentenced to 30 years in prison in May in the federal case, in which he was convicted of seeking to hold former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hostage and attacking her husband with a hammer.
DePape had broken into the Pelosi home in San Francisco looking for Nancy Pelosi, who was not home at the time.
The Pelosi family said in a statement Tuesday that the sentencing in the state case gives Paul Pelosi “some measure of legal justice, and, we hope, a message to others that political violence against elected officials or their family members will not be tolerated, minimized or condoned.”
In a letter to San Francisco County Judge Harry Dorfman released by the Pelosi family, Paul Pelosi detailed how the attack affected him and his family while requesting that DePape receive the maximum sentence possible.
Did we ever get a satisfactory explanation — or, hell, even an unsatisfactory one — for Paul Pelosi’s odd behavior when the police showed up?

They are a sad couple, the Obamas. They achieved more than their wildest dreams and are richer than all but a few humans have ever been. But it’s not enough for them, and it never will be. To utopia-seeking radicals like Barack Obama, the beau ideal statesman of the destructive Left, no one can rest until they reach their ultimate goal — what Obama himself called for as early as 2008: “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”
Perhaps at last Obama is seeing his empire collapse, mere days from his final triumph. The lawfare he helped engineer failed, just like the bugging of Trump Tower and the long campaign of Russia hoaxes failed. He is Wile E. Coyote and Trump is the Roadrunner he can’t catch, despite his many schemes.
Of course, one could argue that Obama himself is just a cog in the Machine, albeit a big cog, but he was the most effective front man the criminal enterprise in D.C ever had. He was the DEI-approved face of the blob, and they could operate with impunity under the cloak his transcendent “hope and change” popularity gave them.
Even a convincing Harris loss next week — far from a sure thing — wouldn’t necessarily mean that Obama is out of moves.

The California Air Resources Board is voting on November 8 on whether or not to adopt more stringent requirements for its Low Carbon Fuel Standard program, by which the state uses a system of credits and deficits to reward or punish producers that make fuel better or worse than the rising “clean” standard.” While the current LCFS guidelines aim for a 20% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030 compared to 2010, the proposed amendments would aim for a 90% reduction by 2045, thereby necessitating much steeper cuts.
If this regulation is passed by CARB, all but two of whose 14 voting members are appointed by the governor, a 15 gallon fill-up of gas would cost an extra $5.25 next year, while a round-trip ticket between New York and Los Angeles could see prices go up by $35.20 (assuming a 250 person jetliner burns 10,000 gallons of fuel each way between the two cities).
Because diesel is used for delivering and transporting goods across the country, and 40% of the nation’s imports come in through Los Angeles, California’s proposed LCFS amendments raising the cost of diesel would likely impact every American.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced that he will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.
The former Republican Governor of California – who has refused to vote for Donald Trump in the last two elections – shared his shocking endorsement on X Wednesday.
‘I don’t really do endorsements. I’m not shy about sharing my views, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians,’ the actor wrote.
Despite that, the Terminator star, 77, said that it’s time for the country ‘to move forward,’ and that ‘the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz.’
‘We need to close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that former President Trump won’t do that,’ Schwarzenegger said.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office at a press conference Thursday, 41 of the 45 alleged looters out of more than 100 people rounded up on a variety of other charges, including armed robbery, burglary, loitering, grant theft, vandalism and trespassing charges following the two deadly storms are in the U.S. illegally, Fox News said in a report.
Another 58 people have been scamming hurricane victims out of about $250 million for repairs that never got done, and were likely never intended to be done.
Sheriff Bob Gualtieri’s office added that another 196 people were caught under suspicious circumstances, questioned by deputies but then released for lack of probable cause. Of those people, 163 were found to be in the U.S. illegally.
I had been assured by all the best people that illegal aliens were less likely to break the law than citizens — after discounting illegal entry, of course.
