IS THE ASBURY REVIVAL GENUINE: That’s a question I can’t answer yet, but that it has continued for many days, attracted thousands of students and shows no signs of waning may well be signs of genuineness. We’ll see.

What I do know is the evidence is solid for the literal resurrection of Christ – without which Christianity is a fool’s errand. If it really happened, it changes everything, as Philosophy Professor Gary Habermas explains this morning on HillFaith.

A VERY PUBLIC EDUCATION: Texas professor instructs elementary school teachers on how to ‘interrogate whiteness.’

As an assistant professor of literacy studies in the College of Education at UT Arlington, Daly teaches the state’s future elementary school educators how to manage their classrooms.

In her article, she writes elementary school teachers “need to be talking about race.”

In particular, such conversations should take place “while reading and discussing literature to empower students of color and white students with knowledge and tools for under-standing, analyzing, and disrupting racism.”

Such race talk “must be ongoing in order for students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to interrogate how racism and whiteness are perpetuated through texts, language, and social norms,” Daly’s article added.

However “Classroom race talk is often difficult to sustain, especially for white teachers whose racial identities influence how they resist or comply with dominant social and political discourses that silence conversations about race.”

Teaching that white people are bad because of whiteness is racism, straight up.

HMM: Did President Ordain Arrest of Israeli Over Hunter Biden Investigation? Professor Gal Luft is detained trying to board a routine flight to Tel Aviv from Cyprus.

Mr. Luft was arraigned last Friday on charges of illegal arms trafficking but swiftly cast the claim as retaliation by President Biden for his cooperating with an investigation pertaining to his son, the artist Hunter Biden. It is probably outlandish to think that the impetus for the arrest of a fairly innocuous-looking Israeli citizen could have come from a vengeful White House — or is it? The case, which was first reported by the Israeli news website Ynet and has since rippled across Greek and Cypriot press outlets, is by turns mysterious and portentous, particularly in light of the growing congressional scrutiny of Hunter Biden’s questionable business dealings with both Communist China and Ukraine. . . .

Ynet reported that Mr. Luft’s attorney, Mordechai Tzivin, claimed that his client’s arrest “was politically motivated and an attempt to silence him for providing incriminating information in a corruption case allegedly involving Biden’s son, Hunter.” Mr. Tzivin said that “the arrest came four years after Luft cooperated with FBI and Department of Justice investigators to help them with information about the case.” He added that the meeting took place in 2019.

Hunter Biden announced in December 2020 that he was under federal investigation for alleged tax crimes. Jim Biden is the president’s brother. Yet who is Mr. Luft, and how did he get so tangled up in an international web of intrigue that risks throwing Washington, Jerusalem, and Nicosia into an awkward triangle?

Neither Mr. Tzivin nor the Israeli embassy at Nicosia have yet responded to requests for comment. However, Israeli press reports describe Mr. Luft as a defense and energy expert and co-director of the Washington-based Institute for the Analysis of Global Security. He has penned opinion pieces for the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post and appeared as a commentator on CNBC, where he spoke about the phenomenon of “de-dollarization” that has arguably accelerated under the Biden administration.

Sounds like a shadowy criminal all right. I mean, he’s a professor, and appears on cable news. Those guys are capable of anything.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: The Woke Left Lunatics Have Come for Willy Wonka. “Make no mistake, whitewashing literature via posthumous content editing like this is far more insidious than banning books. The danger is in the subtlety.”

NEW J6 BOMBSHELL: Two undercover officers shadowed Ashli Babbit during the January 6 riot at the Capitol and one of them was heard to say prior to her death that “someone will get shot.” This is the latest report from my Epoch Times colleague, Joseph Hanneman, who has doggedly followed the blizzard of J6 court filings, analyzed endless hours of J6 video and talked with legions of witnesses, participants, law enforcement experts and more. Joe is the real-deal journalist.

BOB GRABOYES: Castrating Roald Dahl.

I remember when thinking people snickered at the Bowdlers and their work. Well, to be fair, they still do, it’s just that the thinking people aren’t in charge of this stuff nowadays.

#JOURNALISM:

HMM: ‘DeSantis the Destroyer’ Blows Up Chicago’s Mayoral Race. “Enter the superhero. Ron DeSantis the Destroyer will visit the Windy City on Monday to address the city’s largest — and very powerful — police union. The Destroyer will come to blow up the mayor’s race. And he’s already succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.”

DEMOCRATIC LEADERS: BIDEN’S TOO OLD, BUT WE WON’T SAY SO.

Republican officials were reluctant to criticize Donald Trump when he launched his first re-election effort, even though party elites barely tolerated him, because their voters overwhelmingly favored the former president. Democrats today reflect the mirror image: polls indicate many of their voters want a new nominee but few lawmakers say as much because it could create awkwardness with their fellow leaders, who don’t want to speak out. . . .

“It’s fear, plain and simple,” Phillips explained of both the lack of Democratic officials calling for a new nominee and reluctance of other candidates to step forward. “People are focused on self-preservation and their aspirations.”

“People are focused on self-preservation and their aspirations.” Of course they are; it’s not like they’re focused on the good of the country or anything. And nobody wants Kamala.

DISPATCHES FROM THE RED ZONES: Under DeSantis, Crime In Florida At 50-Year Low. “Overall, the number of crimes was down 8.3% compared to 2020, and the crime rate dropped 9.5%. Within that subset, murders fell 14.2%, robberies dropped by 17.5%, aggravated assaults dipped by 1.6%, and burglaries declined by 15.1%.”

WHY PEOPLE INCREASINGLY RESENT “ELITES:” Excerpt: “There is a perception that the multiple ladders of success which have existed in American society are increasingly being collapsed into a single ladder, with access tightly controlled via educational credentials. It is increasingly observed that these credentials actually have fairly low predictive power concerning an individual’s actual ability to perform important tasks and make wise judgments about institutional or national issues. The assumption that school-based knowledge generally trumps practical experience seems increasingly questionable as the sphere of activity for which this assertion is made has expanded, and is indeed increasingly viewed with suspicion or with outright disdain.”
