WHY THE LEFT IS SO FREAKED OUT BY MUSK BUYING TWITTER: It’s really pretty simple and, according to Dan O’Donnell, a now rarely discussed story in Time Magazine in February 2021 makes it clear — Twitter is an essential cog in the Left’s censorship machine that shaped independent voter perceptions of the 2020 presidential election, to Joe Biden’s advantage and Donald Trump’s disadvantage.

MAYORKAS HAS A SIX-POINT PLAN: But career Border Patrol officers interviewed by Washington Free Beacon’s Joseph Simonson see it as a steaming pile of BS. One of the officers summed it all up in one succinct, ripe graph:
“The plan looks like an absolute load of bullshit. Mayorkas is filled with excuses and his solution is to let them in. If you look at the plan there is an inordinate amount of focus on processing ‘vulnerable migrants’ compared to the lip service of securing the border. This administration has always been set to release as many migrants as possible and then make excuses as to why illegal aliens continue invading our country.”

SEVEN INDISPUTABLE FACTS ABOUT OIL: Courtesy of Combat Soldier (HT to The Daily Gouge) and Capt. Terry Hestilow (Ret.). Here’s the first one: “There is enough recoverable crude oil within the continental U.S. to supply current and projected future demand for 400+ years, and that’s just the oil we know about. It doesn’t account for future discoveries. That’s a fact, Jack.”
The other six facts about oil are just as significant and just as damning of the energy lies being repeated daily by Brandon, his handlers, and his media projectors. It ain’t Putin, it ain’t Trump’s tax cuts, it ain’t anything but Joe and Chuck and Nancy that explain inflation, the out-of-control border, big city and suburban crime waves, etc. etc. etc.
ELON HAS TWITTER BUT YOUTUBE, INSTAGRAM REMAIN UNFAZED: It took YouTube only a few minutes to demonetize Cole and Savannah LaBrant’s 38-minute pro-life documentary after its initial posting. Instagram followed suit shortly thereafter.
Don’t be surprised to see the censorship going way upward on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and other Internet, as a response to the Musk buyout of Twitter. The night always looks darkest just before the dawn begins.
IF YELLEN IS THIS CLUELESS NOW: About inflation, that is, what about during her tenure as head of the Federal Reserve Board? Good question and who better to ask it than Issues & Insights, along with a bunch of related and equally pointed queries that illustrate how Yellen has been all over the map on the inflation issue:
“Keep in mind who we are talking about here. Yellen has a sterling resume. A doctorate in economics from Yale. Professorships at Harvard and the University of California, Berkeley. On the faculty of the London School of Economics. President of the Western Economic Association and vice president of the American Economic Association. Head of the Council of Economic Advisors under President Bill Clinton. President of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Chairwoman of the Federal Reserve.
“So how in the world can her pronouncements about inflation under President Joe Biden be as reliable as the weather forecast? Is her understanding of economics tainted by liberal ideology? Is she just doing the bidding of an incompetent and desperate Biden administration?
“Does it matter? Yellen is a shining example of why so many in this country feel betrayed by the people who claim lordship over them.”
It’s that last graph that the elites simply cannot seem to grasp and which is why most Americans think the country is headed North on a South-bound mule.

AZ JUDGE THROWS WRENCH IN DEMS ‘JAN6 BALLOT PLANS: Arizona Superior Court Judge Christopher Court busted the Left’s current drive to toss House GOPers seeking re-election off the November ballot. Seems the judge thinks a federal law that says Congress alone can judge the qualifications of its elected members means private individuals and their Looney Lefty Lawyers can’t.
OBAMA WAS RIGHT ABOUT JOE’S ABILITY TO F-UP EVERYTHING: Now, it turns out Biden’s initiative to ban menthol cigarettes is hurting him and Democrats in three key states with Black voters. Check it out from Collin Anderson, report for Washington Free Beacon.
PUTIN GOES FOR DOOR NUMBER THREE: Writing in Defense One, John Nagl and Paul Yingling lay out the three remaining options available to Russia’s Putin in his Ukrainian disaster. If Putin is so smart, how come he’s in the jam he’s in now?
NEW FLAX ON RAHAB THE PROSTITUTE UNCOVERED: Well, “new” in the sense that it’s highly likely the vast majority of Instapunditeers don’t know the little detail in Rahab’s role in the fall of Jericho that makes a huge difference. And regardless of your view on the issue of biblical inerrancy, Erik Manning’s explanation reminds of the importance of exegetical discipline.

UNDERPAID TEACHER? GO TO WORK FOR THE NEA: You won’t believe how generous America’s largest union is to its leadership and staff.

HOW TO SMEAR CHRISTIANS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING: That’s the title of a book review that just may be the most enjoyable and perceptive piece of such writing I’ve encountered in, well, a very long time.
Rebekah Curtis reviews “Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation,” by Kristin Kobes du Mez. You know instantly from its title what sort of vacuity is behind J&JW and so would never buy it.
But Curtis’ so reminds of the cat idly dallying with its soon-to-be-dinner mouse that her tongue-in-cheek review is a delight to read. For example:
“J&JW’s point is that white evangelicals (should we just call them whitevangelicals?) are not very good Christians. They prefer America to other countries, a horrifying inclination akin to liking your own dad better than other people’s dads.
“A conservative Baptist seminary seeks out faculty members who oppose women’s ordination, making them closed-minded and sexist. People who think having children is good and important show interest in the act by which children are conceived, believing that it may also be affected by questions of goodness and importance are the real perverts.”
There is much more not to be missed.
MEET THE ‘MARXIST LESBIAN’ RUNNING YOUR LIBRARY: Well, running the American Association of Libraries, that is – Emily Drabinski, who, according to Joy Pullman, writing in The Federalist, is:
“The interim chief librarian of The Graduate Center at City University of New York (CUNY), where she was previously the ‘critical pedagogy librarian,’ Drabinski posts openly on her Twitter feed in support of sexually exposing children, union-led political strife, socialist politicians, and libraries pushing explicit and far-Left material on unwilling taxpayers.”
Among Drabinski’s backers is American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten. Your friends will not believe — this is Instapundit, so nothing will surprise you — the kind of far-Left lunacy with which this woman and thousands of her colleagues in libraries across America are stuffing the shelves.
IS FIRST SOLAR OR MASIMO CORP. THE NEW SOLYNDRA? Republicans on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform are digging into “a $500 million federal loan to First Solar, a company co-owned by a Biden megadonor, since at least January. Now, they are also seeking information about nearly $3 million in federal contracts that were awarded to another major Biden donor’s company,” according to Washington Free Beacon’s Alana Goodman.
First Solar is co-owned by Walmart heir Luke Walton, who gave $300,000 to the Biden campaign and $100,000 to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in 2020. Joe Kianai owns the Masimo Corporation, the recipient of the $3 million in federal contracts. Kiani wrote a check to the Biden Foundation for $1 million and another for $750,000 to a Biden superPAC.

BIDEN IMPOSING CRT-BASED BIAS TRAINING ON NCUA STAFF: Judicial Watch got 15 pages of documents from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) that show employees and contractors are being forced to undergo CRT-based bias sensitivity training. And it’s not just for their work hours!
CAPTAIN HOOK, TINKER BELL NEXT FOR WOKE TREATMENT: Jeff Dunetz of The Lid worked at Disney a lot of years, so he knows a thing or three about the workplace culture there. His latest update will, as he promises, “freak you out” if you grew up when Disney was Disney.

SELF-REGENERATING BUMPERS BY CHANCE OR DESIGN: If a Ford engineer designed a bumper that self-regenerated itself back to its original shape, would we call the engineer an “intelligent designer?”
On HillFaith this afternoon, Eric Lyons of the Apologetics Press answers that question and applies it to Geckos, evolution and the debate about Intelligent Design. It’s a fascinating video regardless of which side you are on in the debate.
DID YOU KNOW JEWS CONTROL OUR WEATHER? Oh, you didn’t know that, you say? Well, you would if you followed Washington, D.C. Councilman Trayon White, who is challenging Mayor Muriel Bowser in the Democratic Primary.
“White’s fraught relationship with the Jewish community dates back to at least 2018, when he claimed that wealthy Jews used ‘climate manipulation’ to cause bad weather in D.C. and donated $500 in community funds to sponsor a conference by infamous Jew-hater Louis Farrakhan,’ reports Alana Goodman of the Washington Free Beacon.
Next Question: Did officials from Coca Cola Consolidated and Giant Foods also not know about White’s anti-semitic views? Apparently not, as a bunch of them stood shoulder-to-shoulder with White at a recent campaign event disguised as an environmental cleanup operation.
Would any of those officials still be employed today had they instead stood with an anti-semitic White Supremacist?
LIZ CHENEY (R-BELTWAY ELITES): Hard to avoid that moniker when you realize, courtesy of Tristan Justice of The Federalist, that only two percent of Cheney’s campaign contributions come from within the state she represents.
“According to a Federalist analysis of Cheney’s campaign finances to date based on public records from the Federal Election Commission (FEC), less than 10 percent of the dollars Cheney raised came from Wyoming residents. Only about 2 percent of Cheney’s total contributors were from her home state.
“In contrast, donors in Northern Virginia with fundraisers featuring Utah Sen. Mitt Romney sent more than $880,000 to the campaign, a full six figures higher than the $780,000 raised among Wyomingites. Cheney raised more than $760,000 from California and more than $720,000 from Texas.”
COMING SOON FROM THE LEFT – NO DATA WONKS ON JURIES: Hans Bader of Liberty Unyielding spies a candidate for a forthcoming campaign, based on the fact statisticians are known for citing data such as between 1976 and 2005 Blacks were seven times more likely to be involved in homicides than Whites.
Three liberal justices on the Supreme Court gave the preview, according to Bader:
“On April 18, those three justices dissented from the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear a challenge to a death sentence, in Love v. Texas. The challenge was based on the failure to exclude a juror who cited crime statistics showing that ‘more violent crimes are committed by certain races’ in response to a questionnaire.
“The dissent, authored by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, argued that Texas judges hadn’t adequately considered claims of racial bias based on a juror’s answering ‘yes’ to a voir dire question, ‘Do you believe that some races and/or ethnic groups tend to be more violent than others?'”
BIDEN BETWEEN A MASK AND A HARD PLACE: Covid cases are up, but public disgust with mask mandates is off the charts. So how does President Joe Biden respond, Issues & Insights (I&I) asks this morning?
“Does he relent on mandates and get blamed for another spike in COVID cases? Or does he invite an intense hostility from a public that is sick and tired of being bossed around by the likes of Anthony Fauci,” I&I wonders.
Couldn’t happen to a more deserving party is my take on it, but I&I has a more productive suggestion: “Namely, that a free people can be trusted to do what is in their own best interest and accept the consequences of their decisions. Government’s role should be limited to providing accurate information about who is at risk, not stripping people’s liberties while telling them it’s for their own good.”
Not holding my breath, unfortunately.

HOUSE GOPERS WANT TO JERK NEA’S FEDERAL CHARTER: Congress created the National Education Association in 1906, not as a labor union, but as a professional group dedicated to improving American public education. The NEA long ago left that vision in the dust, became a straight-up labor union, according to the IRS, grew into one of the most powerful and lucrative sources of campaign cash for Democrats, and turned American schools into propaganda mills for the far-Left agenda.
All of which was solidly in place by the time the Gingrich Revolution of 1994 resulted in voters giving Republicans majorities in both houses of Congress for the first time in 40 years. The GOP kept those majorities, with only brief respites, until 2006. Meanwhile, the NEA (along with the American Federation of Teachers of the AFL-CIO) continued waxing stronger. But nobody among the Republicans thought to demand the NEA live up to its charter.
Along came 2010’s Tea Party Revolution and by 2014, Republicans again controlled Congress. Still, nothing was said about the NEA’s charter. Come 2018, voters handed Congress back to the Democrats. Now it appears likely at least the House will be returned to GOP control in November, and if that happens, odds are good the NEA’s long abuse of its congressional charter will become an issue, thanks to GOP Representatives Scott Fitzgerald of Wisconsin and Jim Banks of Indiana.
They, and 16 other House GOPers, have introduced HR 7510, the National Education Association Charter Repeal Act. Losing its charter won’t do a thing to change the NEA’s status as a union, but making it an issue in tandem with the Parents Revolt against CRT and sexual indoctrination of the youngest elementary school kids could open the door to dramatic and desperately needed educational reforms, much as partial birth abortion helped lead to additional restrictions that set the stage for a potential landmark Supreme Court ruling coming soon.
YOU SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTION II: Instapunditeers of a certain age will recall Kate Millett and her “Sexual Politics,” which was a kind of scripture for so-called “second-wave feminism” in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
But far fewer folks of any age know about Millet and her 11 women friends who met regularly in Greenwich Village to plot the downfall of the American family. Carrie Gress knows a great deal about them, including this chant with which the proper mood was set for each gathering:
“Why are we here today?” the chairwoman asked.
“To make revolution,” they answered.
“What kind of revolution?” she replied.
“The Cultural Revolution,” they chanted.
“And how do we make Cultural Revolution?” she demanded.
“By destroying the American family!” they answered.
“How do we destroy the family?” she came back.
“By destroying the American patriarch,” they cried exuberantly.
“And how do we destroy the American patriarch?” she probed.
“By taking away his power!”
“How do we do that?”
“By destroying monogamy!” they shouted.
“How can we destroy monogamy?”
“By promoting promiscuity, eroticism, prostitution, abortion, and homosexuality!” they resounded.
Gress emphasizes the Marxist roots of Millet’s dirty dozen and points to the incredible success they have had in revolutionizing American culture, media and politics. And isn’t it interesting how the Marxist dialectical analytical structure is so easily adaptable to any group with a gripe, real or imagined.
UPDATE (FROM GLENN): Flashback: Kate Millett’s Tedious Madness.
Also: Kate Millett’s sister, Mallory, on just how crazy her sister was. “At one point, in 1973, I found myself alone with her in an apartment in Berkeley, California where she did not allow me to sleep for five days as she raged at the world and menaced me physically.”
I’m beginning to think that most lefty movements are just about broken people trying to manipulate the rest of us so they can feel good about their broken selves.
YOU SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTION: Well, Critical Race Theorists don’t typically come right out and say they want to destroy America, but, as J. Allen Cartwright makes clear this morning on The Federalist, violence is the inevitable outcome when CRT is carried to its logical ends.
And no wonder when all you hear is that “you live in an oppressive society, with built-in systems of oppression that prevent you from altering that society, and have no way to be successful within the system while staying true to yourself. Your only alternative is to destroy that system,” Cartwright observes.

IS JESUS’ RESURRECTION HISTORICALLY DOCUMENTED? Scott Powell of the Discovery Institute — the author of “Rediscovering America,” which is doing quite well on Amazon these days — makes a sterling case in the affirmative.
Check it out on HillFaith this Easter morning, along with an offer of a free copy of “More Than A Carpenter,” Josh and Sean McDowell’s evidentiary classic that has been read by millions of people around the world. And have a happy Easter, He is risen!

SUSPENDING STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENTS BENEFITS RICH: Wait a minute, aren’t federally-backed student loans mainly meant to help middle and lower class students?
So why then does Biden’s suspension of repayments benefit mainly high-income professionals like doctors and lawyers? Hans Bader points to a searing critique of the suspension written by Matt Yglesias, who has never been mistaken for a right-winger and who recently wrote this:
“As Marc Goldwein of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget shows, medical doctors have received $48,500 in relief versus $29,500 for people with law degrees, $4,500 for people with bachelor’s degrees, and a measly $2,000 for those who didn’t finish their degree and are objectively most in need of help.”
Hmmmm. As Bader details, suspending student loan repayments, again, is just one of multiple Biden policies that drive inflation in the U.S. to levels twice those now seen in Europe. And Biden was warned by economists on the Left and Right that such would be the result.
