THE BUDGET IS GOING THELMA & LOUISE IN FULL SELF DRIVING MORE: In next decade, 84% of federal spending growth comes from health, Social Security, interest.

“Spending on Social Security will grow from $1.5 trillion this year to $2.5 trillion by 2034, while spending on health care will grow from $1.6 trillion to $2.8 trillion,” a Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget analysis found. “Net interest costs will more than double from $870 billion this year to $1.6 trillion by 2034, after costs nearly doubled between 2020 and 2023. Interest on the debt is the fastest growing part of the budget and will be the second largest government expenditure this year, surpassing both defense and Medicare.”

The CRFB noted that “budget deficits are projected to grow from $1.7 trillion in Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 to $2.6 trillion by 2034, according to the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) latest projections.”

The organization issued a strong warning about the growth of the national debt over the next 10 years.

“As a result of this rapid spending growth alongside revenue that fails to keep up, the national debt will exceed its record as a share of the economy in just four years,” the group wrote in the analysis.

We will go bankrupt in two ways.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: A Little Dutch Wisdom for Trump-Weary Republican Voters. “I’ve been saying something for years that is especially true for the 2024 election: you’re voting for a president, not a prom date. This isn’t a long-running episode of ‘The Bachelor’ that’s supposed to end with a love story.”

WOW: Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan does victory lap after massive banks exit $68 trillion UN climate alliance.

“This is great news because you’re supposed to make investment decisions based on just good common business sense, your fiduciary responsibility to your investors, not based on left-wing woke politics,” Jordan told Fox News Digital in an interview. “So, yeah, this is a win for America, a win for the economy, a win for Americans and investors and, more importantly, it’s a win for freedom.”

“The folks who are involved in these banks are smart people, successful people. They’ve done well. I think deep down they know decisions should be based on the market, on principles of capitalism, not on politics,” he added.

Under Jordan’s leadership, the House Judiciary Committee launched a sprawling investigation into what he dubbed the “climate-obsessed corporate ‘cartel’” in December 2022 as Republicans prepared to take majority control of the chamber. The panel’s main objective has been to probe whether the financial sector, aided by nonprofit activist climate groups, are violating U.S. antitrust laws.

The “De-Gleichschaltung” has begun.

WE’RE NOT THAT CRAZY YET:  The ADA doesn’t require employers to keep a customer-facing employee whose Tourette’s Syndrome causes him to engage in “obscene and inappropriate vocalizations.”

WE COULD USE SOME CHAINSAWING HERE AT HOME: CPAC scores ‘chainsaw’ Argentine President Javier Milei. “He will join El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele at the four-day event that is also expected to feature former President Donald Trump, who is making his record-setting 14th appearance. He will join El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele at the four-day event that is also expected to feature former President Donald Trump, who is making his record-setting 14th appearance. The populist presidents won big with promises to reform their governments and bureaucracies dramatically. Bukele was reelected this month with an estimated 85% of the vote. Milei won in November with over 55% of the vote. Both are also popular among American Hispanics, and their message to the CPAC is expected to be watched closely. Milei and Trump are scheduled to speak on Saturday, Feb. 24.”

TRUMP-HATER RICHARD PAINTER, IN THE ATLANTIC: Step Aside, Fani Willis. A friend comments: “And they even gave her the ‘unflattering B&W photo’ treatment.”

That’s how bad it’s gotten.

BETTY VAN PATTER COULD NOT BE REACHED FOR COMMENT:  Uh … I’m not sure that we should be thrilled by this:  On Sunday, Assemblymember Mia Bonta (wife the the Attorney General and co-sponsor of ACA7) announced on Twitter/X that $1,250,000 of taxpayer money was going to the Huey P. Newton Foundation.

Seriously?  You mean the Huey P. Newton who repeatedly stabbed Odell Lee with a steak knife?  The Huey P. Newton who killed Oakland police officer John Frey and then bragged about it?  The one who almost certainly ordered the murder of Panther bookkeeper Betty van Patter, whose badly beaten body washed up on a San Francisco Bay beach five weeks later?  Is that the guy we’re talking about?

Are we talking about the one who “allegedly” shot 17-year-old Kathleen Smith, who lay in a coma for three months before dying of her wound?  Note the only reason I use the word “allegedly” is that Newton’s Panther thugs tried to kill the eyewitness, which caused the eyewitness to refuse to testify.

Oh … and is this the same Huey P. Newton who repeatedly raped Erika Huggins and threatened to harm her children if she spoke up?  Just asking …

This kind of thing makes me sick.  I can’t understand what makes people worship thugs.

FOLLOW THE SCIENCE! Unless, that is, “Indigenous Knowledge” is somehow involved, in which case oil and gas leases must be cancelled. Just when you think the Biden Hive could go no loonier … The Washington Free Beacon’s Joseph Simonson reports.

#RESIST: Truckers Vow to Cut Off Deliveries to NYC in Protest of Trump’s $355 Million Civil-Fraud Ruling.

A trucker and conservative social-media influencer, known as Chicago Ray on X, announced the move Friday night in a video that has garnered 6 million views and 56,000 likes at the time of this writing. In the viral clip, Ray claimed he and some of his colleagues who support Trump will stop delivering loads to New York City once the coming work week begins.

“I’ve been on the radio talking to drivers for about the past hour and I’ve talked to about ten drivers . . . and they’re going to start refusing loads to New York City starting on Monday,” he said in the video while driving his truck.

Ray said he wasn’t sure “how far across the country this is” or how many truckers will join in protesting the decision against Trump, “but I’ll tell you what — you f*** around and find out,” he said.

“Our bosses ain’t gonna care if we deny the loads — we’ll just go somewhere else. Do you know how f***ing hard it is to get into New York City with one of these motherf***ers?” the trucker said, referring to his truck. “Man, f*** that.”

BRYAN CAPLAN: Mao’s Great Famine and Depraved Indifference. “However you slice it, Mao was a monster – and it’s high time for China to tear down his remaining posters and replace them with monuments to his victims.”

But he found support from many Western intellectuals.

THE MODELS WERE WRONG THEN, BUT SURELY THEY’RE NOT WRONG NOW:

Shot: Scientists Resort to Once-Unthinkable Solutions to Cool the Planet: Three geoengineering projects seek to alter the chemistry of the atmosphere and the ocean. “Dumping chemicals in the ocean? Spraying saltwater into clouds? Injecting reflective particles into the sky? Scientists are resorting to once unthinkable techniques to cool the planet because global efforts to check greenhouse gas emissions are failing. These geoengineering approaches were once considered taboo by scientists and regulators who feared that tinkering with the environment could have unintended consequences, but now researchers are receiving taxpayer funds and private investments to get out of the lab and test these methods outdoors. . . . ‘There’s a huge political hesitancy to do outdoor perturbative experiments,’ said Jessica Seddon, a senior fellow at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. ‘It’s going to take some extraordinary bravery to acknowledge that in certain circumstances those experiments will be needed, have informational value and should be constrained but not banned.'”

Chaser: How China Miscalculated Its Way to a Baby Bust: A missile scientist used mathematical models to push the nation’s one-child policy. Its legacy is proving hard to shake. “The rapid shift under way today wasn’t projected by the architects of China’s one-child policy—one of the biggest social experiments in history, instituted in 1980. At the time, governments around the world feared overpopulation would hold back economic growth. A Moscow-trained missile scientist led the push for China’s policy, based on tables of calculations that applied mathematical models used to calculate rocket trajectories to population growth.”

SPEAKING OF EUROPE, APPARENTLY UNCONTROLLED IMMIGRATION IS WORKING OUT FOR THEM AS WELL AS IT IS FOR US:  What’s happening in Holland? Video shows rioters breaking into opera house in The Hague.

Repeat after me: the West is not wealthy because the rest of the world is poor. The worst colonialism we ever practiced was exporting Marxism to the rest of the world, but then they loved it and asked for more, so it’s their problem.  We owe the rest of the world nothing but a swift kick in the rear. We certainly don’t owe them the right to colonize us.
