LIGHTNING DEAL: COOVAN 10 Pairs Mens’ Cushion Ankle Socks. #CommissionEarned
ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACK: X starts removing headlines for news stories.
X users reading the news on the platform woke up confused Thursday, as the site displays only articles’ graphics and not headlines.
Many news stories, including those from major sources, showed up as only images. If users want to know what the headline is, they have to click the image and be taken away from X.
Previously, the X post would show the article’s graphic as well as the headline underneath. Now news organizations must manually write the headline into the post before sending it or else users will see just a picture.
While the change was sudden, it had been announced by owner Elon Musk. In August, he confirmed that X would be removing headlines from stories. According to the billionaire, he made the decision to “greatly improve” the look of the site.
That argument didn’t sit well with some.
“It is disappointing to see another helpful and important feature of a text-based information platform be removed because one guy thinks it looks too cluttered,” user Cody Johnston wrote.
Why, it’s as if: Elon Musk makes it up as he goes.

TO BE FAIR, YOU HAVE BEEN SINCE 1948: Netanyahu: We are at war. Speaking of things nobody needed right about now, the news out of Israel is pretty dire this morning. Just as Israelis were celebrating Simchat Torah, Hamas launched a massive attack into southern Israel in multiple locations simultaneously. Thousands of rockets were fired and Hamas fighters began shooting people in the streets. The attacks were launched over the security fence separating Palestine from Israel, but also from the water and even by air using gliders. The initial death toll was reportedly in the twenties, with hundreds of others being injured. Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation, stating that, ‘We are at war.'”
This will go on until it is stopped.

CHEAP JESUS? It’s a staple of the “Jesus Seminar” brand of skepticism that Jesus was a really solid teacher but was in no way God. That’s become for many the standard assumption. But what if the skeptics miss the reality? The latest “What Would You Say” video on HillFaith from the Colson Center offers three quick, solid reasons to conclude theirs is a cheap Jesus, not the real one.
QUESTIONS NOBODY IS ASKING: Did Taylor Swift Go To The Jets Football Game To Cover Up Her Own Absurd Private Jet Use?
There’s a theory going around that Taylor Swift had an ulterior motive, besides her possible romance with Travis Kelce, for attending last Sunday’s Chiefs vs Jets game at MetLife Stadium.
Now what could the world’s most popular celebrity be so concerned about that she would purposely make a big deal about attending a football game? Well, it’s not just any football game… it was a Jets game.
The theory is that Swift wanted to deliberately try and cover up her carbon footprint and her use of private jets. Taylor is one of the biggest CO2 polluter out of any celebrity – with her private jet use emissions at 1000x the average person.’
The Chiefs play the Vikings this Sunday. What conspiracy theory will the left generate from that if Swift is in a skybox in Minneapolis?
MICHAEL BARONE: New Deal politics turned upside down.
Two decades ago, as Republican consultant Patrick Ruffini recently posted, “Dems used to be able to drive news cycles about Republicans being mean to the poor and seniors and this used to be a headache the GOP would have to respond to. Now,” he says, “no one cares if Dems say this.”
Democrats profess puzzlement at this, and it seems unlikely that just a few economic seasons could alter a nearly 90-year political attitude. But remember that when people are asked which party “cares about people like me,” they’re thinking also of which party cares about the people they’re hostile to. Since the 1930s, that meant many voters thought Republicans cared only about the rich and big business.
That assumption has been undermined by the process, slow since the middle 1990s, accelerated under Trump, by which affluent college graduates have been not only voting more Democratic, but have become the visible driving force in the Democratic Party, as witnessed by its emphasis on college loan debt forgiveness and net-zero green policies raising the prices of gasoline and appliances.
In this setting, modest-income voters think Republicans “care about people like me” not because they expect them to shovel out government money but because they expect Democrats to push policies that, while providing psychic income for affluent college graduates, will cost them more money for gas and food or force them to buy electric cars that conk out, washers that don’t wash, dryers that don’t dry, and heat pumps that don’t heat. New Deal politics has been turned upside down.
The New Deal built things — the modern left vows “You will never see another federal dam” and wants to put drivers on a road and gas station “diet.” In 2019, when AOC was in her Green Nude Eel monomania phase, she was in full “ban all things!” mode.

TEXAS RENEWABLE GRID THREATENED BY 13 minutes without sun during an eclipse. “The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is bracing itself for yet another challenge to the state’s power grid this year: The upcoming Oct. 14 annular solar eclipse. Texas is a prime viewing spot for next month’s “ring of fire,“ its path of totality tracing over the cities of Odessa, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. Unfortunately, ERCOT officials recently confirmed that the rare celestial event could have measurable impacts on solar resource power production following a summer of record-breaking demand.”
Plus:
Hell, my electricity has gone out 4 times in September, when there wasn't an eclipse or solar flares, or an apocalypse. It was even a bit cooler than it had been.

OH, THAT LIBERAL FASCISM: Hillary Clinton Calls For ‘Formal Deprogramming’ Targeting Trump Supporters.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called for a “formal deprogramming” of “MAGA” supporters during a CNN interview that aired Thursday.
Clinton weighed in on the ouster of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who lost his gavel Tuesday, drawing a distinction between the “sane” wing of the Republican party and what she described as a Trumpist “cult.”
“I mean, we had very strong partisans in both parties in the past, and we had very bitter battles over all kinds of things,” Clinton said. “But there wasn’t this little tail of extremism, waving, you know, wagging the dog of the Republican party as it is today. And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure. He’s only in it for himself. He’s now defending himself in civil actions and criminal actions. And when do they break with him?”
“At some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members, but something needs to happen,” she added.
C’mon Hillary be specific! Would these be modeled after the CCP’s Uighur reeducation camps, or the North Korean reeducation camps? Or perhaps something a bit more old school?
“One Soviet technique of oppression was to declare that dissidents were insane. They were then incarcerated in psychiatric hospitals where they were tormented and tortured. Some were used as human guinea pigs for dangerous experiments.” For example, Vladimir Bukovsky “spent a dozen years being shuffled between Soviet jails, labor camps, and psychiatric hospitals.”
One of the “therapies” was “putting a cord into Bukovsky’s mouth, threading it from his throat up through his nasal passages, and then drawing it out through one of his nostrils. Alas, this communist ‘treatment’ did not ‘cure’ Bukovsky of his rational (not irrational) abhorrence of tyranny and brutality.”
The type of “formal deprogramming” Clinton seeks could be promoted as public health issue and imposed under the regime of White Coat Supremacy. That regime remains in place even after the alleged retirement of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the loathsome Lysenko figure who claims to represent science. For her part, Hillary Clinton recalls the 1979 point-counterpoint skit on Saturday Night Live about the Michelle Triola palimony suit against actor Lee Marvin.
And of course, “Notice [Christiane] Amanpour doesn’t question this language, or ask for specifics,” so it’s a safe bet she’d be fully onboard with the notion, especially given CNN’s proclivity for doxxing Trump supporters.

Prior drafts of Section Three included versions that expressly named the office of the President of the United States, expressly banned presidential candidates from qualifying as a candidate, and expressly applied to both past and future rebellions. Congress omitted all of this language from the final version of Section Three.”
