THEY DON’T WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT THE LAND WAS PURCHASED, NOT STOLEN: Concord officials look to cover up Massachusetts historic signs due to their ‘offensive’ nature.

UPDATE: A reader writes: “The sign pictured reflects the inconvenient non-narrative-supporting fact that early settlers bought their land from the locals. Who, in the case of the Wampanoags in what is now southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, had made an alliance with the English to strengthen themselves against the threat from the Narragansetts to the west.”

OUT ON A LIMB: Alan Dershowitz: Obama Has Always Had a ‘Deep Hatred’ of Israel in His Heart.

Dershowitz suggested Obama’s criticism was a result of the “deep hatred” Obama had for Israel.

“Do you think Obama understands what his words have meant?” FBN host Maria Bartiromo asked.

“I think so,” Dershowitz replied. “I think he always had a deep hatred of Israel in his heart. He hid it very well. He called me to the Oval Office, and he said Alan, you know I have Israel’s back. I didn’t know he had a target on it. He has never been supportive of Israel. And finally, his true feelings have come out now that he’s no longer president, doesn’t have to be elected.”

QED: Obama and Farrakhan. “After the 10/7 massacre, Obama decried the ‘occupation’ of Palestine, which Farrakhan claims the Jews ‘stole,’ and the former president failed to condemn anti-Semitism in his own party. On this issue, Obama and Farrakhan may be as close and collegial as they were in that 2005 photo.”

Related: Obama: Avatar of the New Anti-Semitism. “Obama is back. The gaping holes in Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities have been the locus of Obama’s third term. He’s been there as ever, allowing us to project our own delusions on his blank screen, while he uses the cover to accomplish what his suavely masked hatred wishes to achieve.”

ACTUALLY, THERE’S PROBABLY MORE OPPORTUNITY TO UNDERSTAND THE REAL WORLD IN GAZA THAN IN CAMBRIDGE:

GREAT MOMENTS IN OBJECTIVITY: Associated Press Coverage of Courts, Climate Bankrolled by Dozens of Left-Wing Foundations.

The Associated Press, the country’s top wire service, is now bankrolled in part by millions of dollars from left-wing foundations, including one founded by “1619 Project” author Nikole Hannah-Jones.

The news organization last year announced a series of “partnerships” to subsidize reporters covering climate change, race, and democracy. A review of the donor roster shows that the vast majority fund left-wing political causes, while none are supporters of conservative initiatives.

The Ida B. Wells Society, founded by “1619 Project” lightning rod Hannah-Jones, has teamed up with filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s Hearthland Foundation, for example, to foster “more inclusive storytelling” at the Associated Press.

In some ways, it was a natural partnership: The AP’s global investigations editor, Ron Nixon, serves on the Ida B. Wells Society’s board of directors. In others, it may prove more problematic, given that Hannah-Jones’s own reporting has been disputed by historians, who have argued—among other things—that her account of the motivations of the American revolutionaries is factually inaccurate.

The funding, much of it from these sorts of overly political actors, will make it more challenging for the Associated Press to swat away accusations of political bias. In one high-profile example, critics blasted the organization for revising its style guide to instruct reporters to avoid the use of terms like “the French,” which the AP indicated was “dehumanizing.”

AllSides, a group that tracks media bias across the industry, last year changed its rating for the AP from “center” to “leans left,” citing what it said was an increase in “word choice bias” and “bias by omission of views” in its coverage. AllSides says it closely monitors the Associated Press’s content because the AP’s content is “broad and far-reaching.”

Just think of AP as Democratic Party operatives with bylines, and it all makes sense.

REALITY CATCHING UP WITH GREEN ENERGY: Remember when President Joe Biden invested $370 billion in Green Energy with his “Inflation Reduction Act”? That’s when he declared it to be “the most aggressive action ever — ever, ever, ever — in confronting the climate crisis and strengthening our economic — our energy security.”

Well, it’s been more than a year since and Issues & Insights took a hard look at the present realities of the American economy and the energy industry: “Electricity prices are up 3 percent since Biden signed that bill into law, and up 24 percent since he took office. Overall energy prices are unchanged compared with August 2022 and are up 44 percent since January 2021.”

But wait! There’s more!

“Well-paid jobs? According to the White House, ‘between January 2021 and March 2023, the economy added 11,000 jobs in electric power transmission and distribution, 8,000 jobs in solar power generation, 2,000 jobs in wind power, and 1,000 jobs in hydroelectric power.’ We’re not math geniuses, but that doesn’t seem to add up to “hundreds of thousands” of new jobs.”

And more!

“General Electric now expects to burn up $1 billion this year and again next year because of its offshore wind project losses, according to BloombergFortune magazine reports that “Siemens Energy shares fall 40 percent after company seeks government help as wind-turbine woes threaten gas and power division.”

WHAT LOST CREDIBILITY DOES: Entirely predictable: More parents don’t want routine vaccination for their kids. “First, let me say, I warned them. In a column for the Free Press, I argued that the CDC was making a mistake adding unproven COVID19 shots to the kids’ vaccine schedule— making parents feel that COVID shot and MMR vaccine are equally important— and this would result in a widespread mistrust in all vaccines.”

THEY’RE TOOLS. THE QUESTION IS, ULTIMATELY, WHOSE? British Police are ‘Giving in to the Mob.’ “Increasingly, Young said, the police are acting as if they’re ‘the paramilitary wing of The Guardian.'”

MARILYN MOSBY: Former top prosecutor for Baltimore convicted in perjury case tied to purchase of Florida homes. “A former top prosecutor for the city of Baltimore was convicted on Thursday of charges that she lied about the finances of a side business to improperly access retirement funds during the COVID-19 pandemic, using the money to buy two Florida homes. A federal jury convicted former Baltimore state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby of two counts of perjury after a trial that started Monday.”

HITLER YOUTH AT MIT: “Where do these people come from? How did they get into MIT, Penn, etc.? Or alternatively, why are they allowed on campus? I don’t think these educational institutions have any idea how terrible they look to the general public. And I don’t think we can begin to calculate the long-range consequences of the utter moral failure of higher education that we are now witnessing.”

We’re going to need to purge a lot of our institutions of this toxic behavior and thought. And we need to purge our society of the disproportionate influence of these toxic institutions.

OPEN THREAD: Enjoy.

HMM. I ASSUME THIS IS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED, AS ONE DOES NOWADAYS: F.B.I. Seizes Eric Adams’s Phones as Campaign Investigation Intensifies. “F.B.I. agents seized Mayor Eric Adams’s electronic devices early this week in what appeared to be a dramatic escalation of a criminal inquiry into whether his 2021 campaign conspired with the Turkish government and others to funnel money into its coffers. The agents approached the mayor after an event in Manhattan on Monday evening and asked his security detail to step away, a person with knowledge of the matter said. They climbed into his S.U.V. with him and, pursuant to a court-authorized warrant, took his devices, the person said. . . . The surprise seizure of Mr. Adams’s devices was an extraordinary development and appeared to be the first direct instance of the campaign contribution investigation touching the mayor.”

WHERE WE ARE NOW:

THE NEW SPACE RACE: Bulgaria signs Artemis Accords. I’m delighted that this diplomatic offensive, which began under Obama, took off under Trump, and continues under Biden, has seen such consistent success. If only everything worked this well.
