THE KIND OF JUDGMENT WE WANT FROM AMERICA’S LEADERS: Fetterman Admits He Avoided Heart Treatment Then ‘Almost Died.’ “Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, who suffered a stroke days before winning the Democratic primary for a U.S. Senate seat, revealed Friday that he ignored a diagnosed heart condition for five years. As a result, Fetterman admitted, he ‘almost died’ last month. ‘I didn’t do what the doctor told me. But I won’t make that mistake again,’ he said in a statement.”

I STARTED A JOKE, WHICH STARTED THE WHOLE WORLD CRYING: Cam Harless: No one should be punished for retweeting my jokes. Dave Weigel, Felicia Sonmez, the Washington Post and me.

Coming out isn’t easy.

It especially isn’t easy when you have to sit your wife and five children down and reveal that you are, in fact, an incel.

I’m not sure which orphanage to send the children to, but I’m sure they’ll understand that that the screeching Bezos-funded blue checks on Twitter know what they’re talking about.

Here’s what happened: I tweeted what turned out to be an old joke on Wednesday June 1. “Every girl is bi,” it said. “You just have to figure out if it’s polar or sexual.” I thought it was the perfect little bit of wordplay to end the first day of Pride Month. And the internet agreed.

And then Dave Weigel hit the retweet button. This is the Post’s moment to replicate the New York Times’ staffers’ meltdown over Tom Cotton’s op-ed in 2020. And it’s been fantastic to see the proof that the Post employs just as many crybully leftists as their rival at the other end of the Northeast Corridor.

THE STRUGGLE (SESSION) IS REAL: Washington Post reporters continue airing their grievances with one another on Twitter.

Washington Post reporter Felicia Sonmez continued to complain about her colleagues on Sunday morning after a retweet engulfed the newsroom in controversy on Friday.

Sonmez shared screenshots from what she described as public attacks against her by fellow Washington Post reporter Jose A. Del Real.

“When women stand up for themselves, some people respond with even more vitriol. Last night, a Post colleague publicly attacked me for calling out another colleague’s sexist tweet. He first hid any replies objecting to his attacks, and now seems to have deleted his account,” Sonmez tweeted.

Sonmez was referring to Del Real’s tweet, where he criticized her for airing her grievances with colleagues in public.

“Felicia, we all mess up from time to time. Engaging in repeated and targeted public harassment of a colleague is neither a good look nor is it particularly effective. It turns the language of inclusivity into clout chasing and bullying. I don’t think this is appropriate,” Del Real tweeted.

The turmoil at the Washington Post began when reporter David Weigel retweeted a joke that mocked women

“Fantastic to work at a news outlet where retweets like this are allowed!” Sonmez reacted.

Del Real has upped the victimhood stakes, however:

Glennwald’s whole thread on what he calls the Weekend drama at Robin D’Angelo Junior High is well worth a read.

A FRIEND OBSERVES:

I’m beginning to think that the short-term goal of Democrats is to get Republicans to give in on red flag laws as their “compromise,” and in return the Dems will make a lot of noise about keeping their hands off the 2nd Amendment.

However red flag laws are blatantly unconstitutional, and are an easy back door for the government to confiscate your guns: they get an anonymous tip that you are a dangerous extremist – after all you were spotted at one of three Stop the Steal marches with over 100,000 participants each – and therefore they need to take away your guns before you commit an unspecified act of sedition.

(It’s ok, if the tip doesn’t pan out, you get them back. Uh huh. How much effort does it take to get off the no-fly list once you’ve been put there erroneously?)

Sounds plausible.

FASTER, PLEASE: A Cancer Trial’s Unexpected Result: Remission in Every Patient.

It was a small trial, just 18 rectal cancer patients, every one of whom took the same drug.

But the results were astonishing. The cancer vanished in every single patient, undetectable by physical exam, endoscopy, PET scans or M.R.I. scans.

Dr. Luis A. Diaz Jr. of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, an author of a paper published Sunday in the New England Journal of Medicine describing the results, which were sponsored by the drug company GlaxoSmithKline, said he knew of no other study in which a treatment completely obliterated a cancer in every patient. . . .

Not expecting a complete response to dostarlimab, Ms. Roth had planned to move to New York for radiation, chemotherapy and, possibly surgery after the trial ended. To preserve her fertility after the expected radiation treatment, she had her ovaries removed and put back under her ribs.

After the trial, Dr. Cercek gave her the news.

“We looked at your scans,” she said. “There is absolutely no cancer.” She did not need any further treatment.

“I told my family,” Ms. Roth said. “They didn’t believe me.”

But two years later, she still does not have a trace of cancer.

Faster, please.

DEMOCRACY DIES IN PETTY WOKE SQUABBLING: WaPo Editor Admonishes Staff to ‘Treat Each Other With Respect as Kindness’ as Numerous Messy Feuds Play Out on Twitter.

Flashback: Journalists Drink Too Much and are Bad at Managing Emotions, Study Finds. “A new study claims that journalists’ brains show a lower-than-average level of executive functioning—perhaps because they drink too much alcohol and not enough water. According to Business Insider, this broadly means that they have more trouble regulating their emotions, switching between tasks and showing flexible thinking.”

MARK JUDGE: Hang Michael Avenatti Around the Media’s Neck Until Christ Returns in Glory. “Never let the media forget their worship of this idiot, which included suggesting Avenatti might make a good future president. Oh yes, and breathless pillow talk about him as ‘the savior of the Republic.’ Bring Avenatti up to Ronan Farrow, the crooked opposition researcher who in May of 2018 dined out with Michael Avenatti. Remind CNN, NBC, ABC, the Washington Post and New York Times that they made this man their hero. Forget Walter Cronkite, Avenatti should be their icon.”

SCENES FROM A STRUGGLE SESSION: No one should be punished for retweeting my jokes. Dave Weigel, Felicia Sonmez, the Washington Post and me. “Now, I don’t know Mr. Weigel. Although I doubt he’s a sexist, I do question the strength of his spine at this point.”

He is the member of an anti-revolutionary group and, according to the writing on the cap, he has been accused of being a political pickpocket. JON GABRIEL: Hey, Team Biden, the problem isn’t your political messaging. It’s reality.

In five months, 13 Democratic senators and 191 Democratic representatives face their angry constituents at the ballot box. Some of them likely wonder why they didn’t join the 32 Dems opting for retirement instead.

The midterms are looking rough for Team Donkey. Very rough. And most of the troubles come straight from the top. While President Biden isn’t up for reelection this year, he’ll likely be responsible for ending a lot of careers this November.

Inflation is soaring, economists are warning of a recession, and moms still can’t find baby formula. Meanwhile, Biden is baffled about why voters are so upset with him.

His polling numbers have hit their lowest point in his presidency, with just 40% of voters approving of his performance, according to the RealClearPolitics average. And it could get worse; the Reuters/Ipsos poll has him at 36%.

An anonymous tipster compared Biden’s polls to the last guy. “He’s now lower than Trump, and he’s really twisted about it,” the person close to the White House said.

Don’t get cocky. As Glenn has written, “If you want to win, donate and volunteer. Winning takes work, and commenting on Internet blogs, even this one, doesn’t count.”
