GOOD LORD: Deranged Trump-Hating Lefty Murders Entire Family. “One man who completely fell for the rhetoric, while blinding himself to the real dangers, was Nephew, and it seems that, horrifically, his family paid the ultimate price. Nephew insanely and apparently thought that his young kids and their mothers were actually better off dead than alive under a Trump presidency. This is the horror that occurs when mental illness combines with extreme leftist propaganda.”

UPDATE (FROM GLENN): The Dem media folks who yammered about “stochastic terrorism” need to own this.

OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY: FEC Filings Show Kamala Harris Team Blew Funds On Hollywood Stars, Private Jets.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, advised by leftist political strategists, spent a billion dollars centered around labeling former President Trump and a majority of Americans as ‘Hitler’ and ‘Nazis.’ They poured millions into far-left Hollywood stars, elaborate concerts, and private jet travel, yet still ended up $20 million in debt—and got defeated in one of the most historic general election wins in a generation.

X user Autism Capital cited a new report of Federal Election Commission filings that shows the Harris team’s spending trends between August 2023 and October 2024. The data is broken down into monthly spending totals, the top 20 recipients, a distribution of disbursement sizes, spending by type of media, temporal patterns, and trends.

Autism Capital said, “List of the top 500 disbursement recipients from the Kamala campaign. Enjoy, Internet.”

Even Oprah took the money and ran.

And what did Harris get for her money?

Stuff like this:

“That set decor is like $189.50 at TJMaxx,” Mary Katharine Hamm replied.

There’s no indication that George Clooney got paid a dime for his celebrity endorsement but he is a white man with traditional pronouns: George Clooney taking step back from politics after being made a ‘scapegoat’ for Kamala Harris’ loss.

HOLLYWOOD’S JUSTINE BATEMAN IS Decompressing from walking on eggshells for the past four years.

I have found the last four years to be an almost intolerable period. A very un-American period in that any questioning, any opinions, any likes or dislikes were held up to a very limited list of “permitted positions” in order to assess acceptability.

I’ve never in my life known that to be an American environment.

It’s an environment I have encountered in smaller groupings (a church, a private club, a clique), but never before as a national blanket. It has been suffocating. Common sense was discarded, intellectual discussion was demonized. Only “permitted position” behavior and speech was “allowed.” Complete intolerance became almost a religion and one’s professional and social life was threatened almost constantly. Those that spoke otherwise were ruined as a warning to others.

Their destruction was displayed in the “town square” of social media for all to see. This was the #MeMeMeMeToo moment, where every effort was made to divert attention to oneself, instead of recognizing how one contributes to the whole. This was the era of trying to exercise control over those who did not want to follow the crowd and has their own ideas about what they needed to do. This dampened our culture and innovation, bringing people to even think that generative #AI, a regurgitation of the past, was actually our cultural future.

When you starve a society of those called to be independent thinkers and cultural and intellectual innovators, you rob that society of any forward movement. Those that tried to impose that control maintained a kind of “hall monitor” position by threatening others with damning labels like “Sexist,” “racist,” “homophobic,” etc, when the free-thinking and questioning was nothing of the sort. However, the mob mentality that followed caused these social convictions when there was often no evidence to support them.

(See Charles McKay’s 1841 book, “Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.”)

I am neither one extreme or the other, but am one of the millions of people who believe in common sense, and that everyone should be free to live their lives however they want, unless that freedom interferes with someone else’s freedom to live their own life.

That’s it.

She’s also spent a couple of days “critiquing,” as a director, some of the performative victimhood videos flooding TikTok after the election — and it’s some of the most dryly funny stuff I’ve ever read.

If you liked Bateman as Mallory on “Family Ties,” (or even if you didn’t), you might love her on X.

FLORIDA MAN FRIDAY [VIP]: He Was 10 Crew Members Short of Ocean’s 11. “It’s time for your much-needed break from the serious news and this week we have the Telephone Poll of Swift Justice, the classy night on the town in Boca, and Colorado Man being perfectly chill. “

PLEASE, STOP — I ALREADY VOTED FOR HIM: Pentagon anticipates major upheaval with Trump’s return to White House.

The Pentagon anticipates major upheaval once President-elect Donald Trump returns to the White House, amid fears that the once and future commander in chief will follow through on vows to deploy the military domestically against American citizens, demand fealty from key leaders and attempt to remake the nonpartisan institution into one explicitly loyal to him.

The trepidation harks back to Trump’s first term, when he smashed norms and frequently clashed with senior Pentagon leaders — including several of his own political appointees. He has shown no signs of altering course this time around, stating throughout his campaign an intent to use military force against the “enemy from within,” to fire any military officer associated with the chaotic evacuation from Afghanistan after he left office in 2021, and to reverse what he and his supporters have denounced as “woke” decisions by the Biden administration that include renaming several Army installations that had honored Confederates.

“The greatest danger the military faces” under a second Trump presidency is a “rapid erosion of its professionalism, which would undermine its status and respect from the American people,” said Richard Kohn, a professor and military historian at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. “Mr. Trump does not have a real understanding of civil-military relations, or the importance of a nonpartisan, nonpolitical military.”

Oh, please — the Pentagon is part of the Swamp and gave Trump quite the education about what the Swamp thought their relationship with Trump ought to be.

Also, this food for thought: “Kohn and Feaver are good scholars, but have Civ-Mil experts commented on whether or not civilian control really exists when POTUS has been senile for at least a year (probably more)?”

THE NEW SPACE RACE: Russia launches Soyuz in service of Iran.

Russia launched a Soyuz rocket Monday carrying two satellites designed to monitor the space weather around Earth and 53 small satellites, including two Iranian ones, Reuters reports. The primary payloads aboard the Soyuz-2.1b rocket were two Ionosfera-M satellites to probe the ionosphere, an outer layer of the atmosphere near the edge of space. Solar activity can alter conditions in the ionosphere, impacting communications and navigation. The two Iranian satellites on this mission were named Kowsar and Hodhod. They will collect high-resolution reconnaissance imagery and support communications for Iran.

A distant third … This was only the 13th orbital launch by Russia this year, trailing far behind the United States and China. We know of two more Soyuz flights planned for later this month, but no more, barring a surprise military launch (which is possible). The projected launch rate puts Russia on pace for its quietest year of launch activity since 1961, the year Yuri Gagarin became the first person to fly in space.

That’s quite the decline.

ELECTION INTEGRITY: Colorado—unlike any other state in the union—saw an unmistakable leftward shift in voting patterns in the most recent elections.

The timing, juxtaposed against a broader national trend of rightward-leaning shifts, raises some pertinent questions. Why did Colorado buck the trend so decisively, and at such an unusual time?

This is the same Colorado that, under Secretary of State Jena Griswold, experienced a catastrophic breach of election security. Colorado’s voting machine BIOS passwords were posted online for anyone to access months before the election.

The breach under Griswold’s watch was unprecedented, and yet it seemingly had no repercussions or impact, at least not officially. But with Colorado being the only state to record a notable shift to the left, can one truly ignore the possible connection? Four full months of exposed BIOS passwords in an environment of deeply polarized and contested elections is not a mere technical error—it is an open door, a flashing invitation for interference, be it from internal actors or foreign opportunists.

What are we to conclude when the only state with such an electoral shift is also the state that allowed its voting systems to be compromised with such brazen carelessness?

THERE’S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN AND HE COMMANDS RESPECT:

ROBERT SPENCER: Shock Horror: Islamophobia Outbreak At McDonald’s.

It all started way back in June 2021, when, according to the Associated Press, when a hijab-wearing Muslim woman, Ghadir Alahmar, walked into a McDonald’s with her twin seven-year-old sons. Alahmar “ordered a plain fish sandwich,” and thoughtfully “had one of her children repeat the order to a worker in case they did not understand her accent.”

McDonald’s employees, according to Alahmar, in their hate and “Islamophobia,” decided to load up the fish sandwich with (shield your children’s eyes) bacon. The unsuspecting victims “received their order, which included fries and cookies, and left the restaurant to walk to a nearby school playground where they planned to eat. One of her sons noticed the bacon. The sandwich not only had bacon on it but appeared to have extra bacon, the complaint says. They did not eat the bacon, but one son ate the lower half of the bun and part of the fish filet, according to the complaint.” The lower half of the bun and part of the fish filet? Ohhh-kay. Anyway, the family was, they claim, thoroughly traumatized.

I have it on good authority that bacon is just a spice and perfectly permissible.

DEREGULATE ALL THE THINGS: Crypto sweep puts congress on notice: vote with us or we’ll come after you with millions.

“Now, the message that Congress receives,” Claypool said, “is very much that how you vote on crypto-related policy, those decisions are going to have consequences in terms of big crypto spending money for or against you.”

Crypto skeptics like Claypool warned that the results of the spending could soon be felt and that ordinary Americans would need to hang onto their wallets.

“In all likelihood, crypto deregulation is coming,” said Claypool. “People are going to have to be careful about what they’re doing with their money. It looks like a tragedy waiting to happen.”

Or maybe it looks like liberty, but to some folks, that’s the same thing.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Trump Knocks It Out of the Park With Chief of Staff Pick. “Wiles had been rumored to be the front-runner for the chief of staff position during the campaign. Trump obviously trusts her counsel and listens to her. There was a telling moment during his victory speech in Florida when he called Wiles and co-chair Chris LaCivita up to the podium. Wiles obviously wanted nothing to do with the spotlight. Those are the kinds of people Trump needs as confidantes to help his ambitious second term agenda.”

BIDENFLATION: Worse Off Now? Real Wages Have Declined Since Nov. 2020.

A test that Kamala Harris, as the de-facto incumbent, apparently failed to pass.

As Statista’s Felix Richter reports, according to exit polls, 46 percent of voters in key states said that their family was worse off now than it was four years ago, the highest ever in presidential exit polls. But is that really true or are we seeing what some economists described as a “vibecession”, i.e. an overly negative perception of an economy that is doing alright?

While the U.S. economy has come through the inflation crisis relatively unscathed, with robust growth, low unemployment and high stock prices, many American families have not.

Or at least it hasn’t felt that way.

The main problem with inflation is the fact that it hits consumers right where it hurts: the wallet.

It hits retirement portfolios, too, which on average have barely budged since Biden was sworn in but grew 16% during Trump’s first three years, before the COVID lockdown madness ruined everything.

COPING TAKES MANY FORMS:

Smith explained that “when I say ‘unfortunately’, I don’t mean ‘unfortunately for me’. I will make more money under Trump than I would have under Harris thanks to low taxes. I will be fine. The bad fortune belongs to other people.”

It seems not to have occurred to him that lower taxes (and an improved economy) was exactly the “unity” that millions of non-traditional GOP voters wanted when they voted for Trump. But I guess Smith knows better what they need than they do.

“I got mine, you’ll get what I give you” isn’t a good look but it is a common one on the Left.
