SMART: Taiwan Drone Alliance Quadruples Size, Fortifies Supply Chain.
Taiwan’s state-backed drone industry alliance has grown from 50 members at its September 2024 inception to more than 200 today and is expeditiously decoupling from China-based supply chains, Chairman Hu Kai-Hung tells Aviation Week.
Hu, who also serves as the chairman of Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC), says that the drone alliance is laser-focused on creating a “non-red supply chain”—the red referring to China—to align with the requirements of the U.S., which has flagged the security threats posed by Chinese drones.
Members of the Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunities Alliance (Tediboa) are required to prove the origin of their components, Hu says.
We should be doing the same.
Related: Drones now account for 80% of casualties in Ukraine-Russia war.
That’s remarkable. Artillery — the previous champ — topped out last century at 60-70% of casualties, depending on the war.
MORE NUKES IS GOOD NUKES: This just in: Americans love nukes! “New Gallup data show attitudes toward nuclear energy doing a U-turn from negative views in the mid-teens to strongly positive views today. In less then 10 years, positive views have spiked by 17 points while negative views have plummeted by 19 points. That’s taken net support (favor minus oppose) from -10 to +27.”

NEW MEXICO: Doña Ana County judge resigns after feds arrest man at home.
“Working with each of you has been a very rewarding experience for which I will remain eternally grateful,” Cano wrote in a letter addressed to 3rd Judicial District Chief Judge Conrad Perea and court staff. The letter declared his last day as March 21, which dockets show was also the last day he had hearings scheduled in court.
Jose “Joel” Cano, a former police officer and Democrat, was first elected as a magistrate judge in 2010 and ran unopposed in three subsequent elections, winning his fourth term in 2022.
The details of Ortega-Lopez’s arrest and prior relationship with the Cano family are addressed in federal court motions seeking Ortega-Lopez’s detention. In New Mexico federal district court, prosecutors argue that Ortega-Lopez is a flight risk and a danger to the community due to an alleged criminal history, including alleged ties to the Tren de Aragua gang in Venezuela.
The sixth paragraph seems like an awfully long way down to explain that “man” in the headline was really “Tren de Aragua man.”
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Suck it, Commies, Easter Is BACK! “Last year, Joe Biden and the syndicate of human sewage we call ‘globalist trash’ celebrated March 31 as the ‘day of Transgender Visibility.’ I’m sure it was a coincidence that it happened to fall on the same day as Easter, when Christians worldwide celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.”
CHANGE: ‘Big Moves At The ATF.’
“The zero tolerance policy is one of the most egregious ways that the Biden administration weaponized the ATF.”
“They realized they couldn’t go after the individual right to keep and bear arms (I know, crazy. It’s almost like it’s in the fucking constitution). They would go after the people who were selling and manufacturing the guns, which is where they started weaponizing audits on mom and pop FFLs.”
“The ATF had a history of doing audits on FFLs, where basically they’ll they’ll come in they’ll make sure that you’ve got all the guns on the books that you’re supposed to have. And basically, they’re just making sure that you’re not hawking guns out the back of your gun store to the fucking cartel, because only the ATF can do that.”
“But instead of using these audits to actually catch people who are committing real crimes and selling to people they’re legally not supposed to, they started going after every little minor clerical error they possibly could.

GOODER AND HARDER: The City of Oakland, CA Is in the Very Best of Hands. “Speaking as an observer of one failed city (Chicago) to another (Oakland), I would recommend to Mayor Lee that she keep living in a dream world, because Oakland’s real world really, really sucks.”

JOURNALISM: Border Crossings Grind to Halt as Trump’s Tough Policies Take Hold.
In this border city, large groups of migrants marching toward the U.S. have all but halted. Migrant encampments are disappearing, and few people are trying to sneak across remote desert areas to start new lives in the U.S.
“The door is closed,” said Yorman Briceño, a Venezuelan migrant staying at a church-run shelter in Ciudad Juárez, just across from the border from El Paso, Texas.
He had been waiting about six months for his Jan. 23 appointment to request asylum in the U.S. under a Biden-era program, until it was scrapped by President Trump on Jan. 20. Now, after watching how others have been rounded up in immigration sweeps and extradited by the U.S. to a notorious prison in El Salvador, he said he wasn’t even sure he wanted to go anymore.
“There’s no more hope for entering legally as long as Donald Trump is there, and anyone telling you otherwise is lying,” said Briceño.
During the presidential campaign, Trump promised to shut the U.S. border to illegal immigration after surreptitious crossings reached record levels under the Biden administration.
As the issue featured prominently in the campaign, migrant encounters tallied by U.S. authorities fell precipitously in the months leading to the election. Since taking office, Trump has delivered on his pledge as encounters have since fallen further to their lowest levels since the 1960s.
Why does this WSJ report ostensibly about illegal immigration begin with a sad tale of an immigrant who has been trying to cross legally since before the election?

CORN, POPPED: Government Watchdog Files Ethics Complaint Against Sen. Van Hollen Over Trip to El Salvador to Meet With Alleged Gangbanger. “In a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), the American Accountability Foundation demanded that the secretary of the Senate be instructed ‘not to foot the bill for Van Hollen’s trip’ and called for the Senate Ethics Committee to open “an immediate investigation.'”
It likely won’t amount to much, but keeping Van Hollen’s priorities front and center isn’t a bad idea.
BYRON YORK: Democratic passions catch fire over deported illegal immigrant.
With all that has happened since January, one issue that has received less and less attention is the flow of illegal crossers over the U.S.-Mexico border. That’s because there no longer is a flow of illegal crossers over the U.S.-Mexico border. President Donald Trump stopped it in a matter of weeks. What had been a national crisis under President Joe Biden, with 10 million to 15 million immigrants entering illegally while U.S. authorities did almost nothing, was fixed quickly by the new president. Democrats, of course, were on the wrong side of the issue, so they don’t talk much about Trump’s achievement.
But now, Democrats across Washington and their allies in the media are consumed with intense emotion over another immigration-related issue: the case of an illegal migrant and possible MS-13 gang member named Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whom the Trump administration recently deported to his native El Salvador. The Abrego Garcia affair has anti-Trump forces almost convulsed in a mixture of rage, self-righteousness, and political opportunism.
A sample? One anti-Trump organization recently published a piece headlined “Bring. Him. Home. Our cause is here; our time is now.” The article urged Democrats to undertake militant action. “They will have to act less like an American political party and more like Solidarity in Poland in the 1980s or Alexei Navalny’s People’s Alliance over the last decade,” it said. “But they should be under no illusions. The old American order is dead.”
Regardless of how the legal complexities play out, Democrats chose an odd hill to die on.
REMARKABLE ONLY FOR HER SKILL AT THE GRIFT: The Remarkable Rags-to-Riches Story of Stacey Abrams. “Financial records show that when she first entered statewide politics in 2018, she reported a net worth of less than $109,000. By 2022, the last year she had to publicly file a financial report, it had grown to more than $3.2 million. Abrams is probably even better off than that, thanks to her latest venture: Rewiring America, which uses federal funds to provide low-income people with free electric appliances.”
