CORN, POPPED: Comer issues subpoena for Ghislaine Maxwell deposition.

The deposition will take place at the prison where Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for child sex trafficking and related offenses. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has said he will meet with Maxwell in the coming days too.

“I have issued a subpoena to Ghislaine Maxwell for a deposition to occur at Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee on August 11, 2025,” Comer said in a post on X. ” The Department of Justice is cooperating and will help facilitate the deposition at the prison.”

THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION WAS NOT ONLY WORSE THAT YOU IMAGINED, IT WAS WORSE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE:

ABSOLUTELY INSANE

The Biden Admin setup a hotline so that unaccompanied minors could call if they had trouble with the strangers they were being placed with

65,000 calls to this hotline WENT UNANSWERED

“So you’re telling this committee that the Biden administration, while they were letting all of these unaccompanied minors into the country—and as we’ve talked about today, they weren’t keeping track of them—they issued these kids a hotline that they could call if they had trouble with the sponsor family they were placed with, and you’re saying that 65,000 calls to this hotline, designated to protect these kids, went unanswered. Is that what you’re telling this committee?”

Her response: “Yes, sir.”

Democrats are literally evil. How could they possibly win another election EVER again??

SARAH HOYT’S SHOCKED FACE IS REPORTED MISSING: ‘The most dangerous city in Germany’ — Bremen has the most crime and the highest share of migrants of all German states. “In fact, non-German suspects are responsible for 73 percent of all crime in Bremen in 2024, compared to 57 percent in 2023. As Buten an Binnen notes, ‘Young men from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Syria stand out as suspected perpetrators. This group of people continues to be kept in mind, and many of the perpetrators have been imprisoned.'”

WOMEN NEED THEIR OWN SPACES AND THEIR OWN SPORTS: U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee will comply with Trump’s ban on transgender women in women’s sports. “The committee made the change in an updated “Athlete Safety Policy,” posted to their website Monday, which does not mention the word transgender in any of its 27 pages. But the document does include language that implies that transgender women will no longer be able to compete in women’s division.”

KRUISER: Mega-Props to Colbert and His Fans for Proving That CBS Made a Brilliant Decision. “Because they are simple, barely sentient creatures who all suffer from Stage 4 Trump Derangement Syndrome, the proggies have boiled it all down to ORANGE MAN BAD. Yeah, that’s their default for everything they don’t like, but watching them torture themselves with that emo illogic over this is extra special fun for me.”

Coca-Cola says it will use U.S. cane sugar in a new Coke, a plan pushed by Trump.

We’re going to be bringing a Coke sweetened with U.S. cane sugar into the market this fall,” Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO James Quincey said on a conference call with analysts Tuesday.

The company announced the change in the quarterly earnings report it released Tuesday, describing the new drink as an expansion of its product line.

Quincey said the new offering would “complement” Coca-Cola’s core portfolio of drinks, suggesting it could arrive as an alternative, rather than a replacement, for its flagship Coke product.

So the new New Coke (not the old New Coke) will be Mexican Coke which used to be the American Coke or just plain Coke.

WELL, GOOD: UK will back down over its demands on Apple for an encryption backdoor.

Faced with US pressure, the UK is reportedly looking for a way out of its own demands for an iOS backdoor, without also limiting its future ambitions.

In 2024, the UK changed its own laws so that it could demand Apple give it complete access to all iPhone user data worldwide. It also invoked what’s known as the Snoopers’ Charter, which meant it was legally able to prevent Apple from even revealing the request.

Apple did, though, cause the issue to be revealed by switching off its Advanced Data Protection for UK users, and also lobbying the US government.

Now according to the UK’s Financial Times, officials within the local government say the country is likely to withdraw its order. Alongside other senior US leaders including Trump, the sources say that the climb down is because of pressure from JD Vance.

“This is something that the vice-president is very annoyed about and which needs to be resolved,” said one source, reported to be an official in the UK’s technology department. “The Home Office is basically going to have to back down.”

It’s nice to have an administration on board with privacy and with protecting American financial interests overseas.

IT’S GOOD TO MAKE HARPIES APOPLECTIC: Gun Control Industry Harpies Apoplectic About Trump DOJ’s Active Defense of Second Amendment Rights.

USA Today reported, “Trump DOJ wants Supreme Court to bring down hammer on gun rules,” noting the Department of Justice’s recent moves to secure Second Amendment rights for law-abiding citizens instead of attacking them. The DOJ, in recent months, declined to petition to the U.S. Supreme Court a lower court’s decision that found that the federal law prohibiting handgun sales to adults under 21 violated the U.S. Constitution. The DOJ also urged the Supreme Court to strike down state laws prohibiting lawful concealed carry permit holders from carrying their firearms on private property without express consent of that property owner.

Here’s the most damning accusation. USA Today accused President Donald Trump of pledging “fidelity” to gun rights groups and the Second Amendment. True, President Trump did tell gun owners he would stand up for their interests against unconstitutional gun control and the politically-driven antigun agenda of some Members of Congress. It’s also true that he pledged to defend the Second Amendment.

Here’s the part that USA Today left out. That’s part of the president’s Oath of Office.

To be fair, they’re also apoplectic about the Constitution and Trump.

YOU WANT THE TRUTH? YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH: Why is the DNC autopsy avoiding the main cause of death?

Over the weekend, the New York Times hinted that the Democratic National Committee’s autopsy may finally be coming out soon, and the details of the paper’s reporting suggest that the party’s effort at self-examination is slated to fall well short. The biggest takeaway was that the report is expected to avoid any reflection on the role played by Joe Biden’s decision to run, his refusal to drop out sooner, and the party’s choice to replace him with Kamala Harris. There is also little indication that Democrats plan to reckon with strategic decisions the Harris campaign made, including framing the election as a choice between democracy and fascism.

While looking forward is of course an important part of this process, it’s hard to see how a party can do this in an informed manner if it refuses to address what were obviously consequential decisions. The prudence of asking tough questions, even of beloved figures in the party, is to learn from mistakes and avoid repeating them in the future — a consideration that would seem to be a relevant part of “looking forward”. For instance, it’s important to understand what went into Biden’s decision to run for re-election and remain in the race until late July, and why so many in the party remained deferential to him until the 11th hour. Long before his disastrous debate with Trump, polling had made abundantly clear that the vast majority of Democratic voters did not support his bid for a second term. Biden’s defiance of his own party’s voters likely contributed to their dismal approval rating of the Democrats today.

Of course, it is harder to entertain the counterfactual in which the party doesn’t immediately coalesce behind Harris and instead, say, hosts a mini primary election. No one knows how that would have turned out, and it’s probably not worth speculating. Still, Harris’s vulnerabilities were clear at the time, and post-election polling has reaffirmed that those vulnerabilities were likely pivotal to her loss.

Democrats are understandably eager to move on from the election and focus on opposing Trump, whom they believe is taking a battering ram to the American project.

“Opposing Trump,” at any cost — including the entire judiciary — seems to be the only thing the Democrats still care about, aside from protecting their cash cows.

That’s not much of a platform, and Americans know it.
