MAGICAL THINKING: Gun-Free ‘Sensitive Places’ Laws Only Endanger the Law-Abiding. “If citizens cannot count on courts or policymakers to prioritize their safety, they are left to their own devices when situational awareness is simply not enough. Rules that restrict an individual’s right to bear arms for self-defense advantage criminals, and as public officials dither, lives are in danger.”

CUE THE WORLD’S SMALLEST VIOLIN: Joe Biden Is Struggling to Cash In on His Presidency.
Biden, 82 years old, is charting a postpresidency that is less lucrative than what he’d expected when he left office. Options for big jobs are limited by his advanced age, his unpopularity in Democratic circles and companies—concerned about retribution from President Trump—that aren’t offering speaking gigs. His own allies have grown critical of his presidency, most recently former Vice President Kamala Harris, who in a new book says the Democratic Party was reckless to allow Biden to run a second time.
The result for Biden is a leaner next chapter that lacks the well-funded foundations, plans for exquisite libraries and full calendar of paid speeches his peers enjoyed.
Instead of private jets, Biden has been spotted with a book on his lap in the first-class cabin of American Airlines flights or (talking) aboard Amtrak’s quiet car. Paid speaking appearances can range from $300,000 to $500,000, people briefed on the matter said. Takers are limited, and at least one organization tried to negotiate below that range, some of the people said.
Still: “A roughly $10 million book deal will give the former president a major financial boost.”
One more thing: “If the family sticks to a modest-for-the-powerful lifestyle, “it’ll be fine,” the person familiar with their finances said. Others in the Biden orbit note that the family has a taste for a more lavish lifestyle, particularly if others are paying.”
That’s how they’ve always lived.

YES:
Listen to Charlie Kirk.
Do more than just talk.
Tear down the well-funded leftist networks that build permission structures for terrorism and violence.
Honour his legacy. https://t.co/Kp32QHKmlG

GOOD LORD:
“Zinn reportedly told an officer that he was glad he said he shot [Kirk] so the real suspect could get away. He also said he ‘wanted to be a martyr for the person who was shot,’ according to the probable cause statement.” An improvised, on-the-fly, pro-murder accomplice. https://t.co/fLPD2VhqKr

MORE LIKE THIS, PLEASE: Tyson Foods Is Dropping High-Fructose Corn Syrup.
The Arkansas-based meatpacking giant that owns brands such as Jimmy Dean, Ball Park and Hillshire said it would also stop using the artificial sweetener sucralose, the preservative BHA/BHT and titanium dioxide, a food coloring.
Tyson said the decision was voluntary and follows its previous efforts to reduce sodium, sugars and other food additives. Chief Executive Donnie King said Tyson continuously reviews and assesses its product portfolio to meet the needs of consumers.
Tyson, which processes one-fifth of all chicken, beef and pork sold in the U.S., said its goal was to stop using high-fructose corn syrup and the other ingredients in its U.S. branded products by the end of the year. Tyson products that list the sweetener as an ingredient range from frozen honey battered breast tenders to frozen Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese croissant breakfast sandwiches, according to labels on its products sold at supermarkets.
Yuck.
TRUMP MUST BE OVER THE TARGET: China accuses US of ‘bullying’ in push for tariffs over Russian oil purchases.
China accused the United States of “unilateral bullying” in calling on allies, opens new tab to impose tariffs on China over its purchase of Russian oil, fueling tensions as Chinese and U.S officials meet in Spain to try to resolve trade disputes.
China opposes Washington’s request that the Group of Seven and NATO countries impose secondary tariffs on Chinese imports over its purchase of Russian oil, China’s commerce ministry said on Monday, calling it “a classic example of unilateral bullying and economic coercion”.
China is trying to export its way out of all kinds of domestic economic woes, while importing enough Russian oil to keep Moscow afloat during Putin’s stupid war in Ukraine.
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Dems Are Lucky We’re Not Violent About Them Calling Us Violent. “The few examples of ‘right wing’ violence that Dems have been able to come up with were not committed by right wingers at all, nor were the victims publicly demonized by high-ranking members of the Republican Party. Dem smear merchants throughout the party have been badmouthing Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA, and any other conservative organization that’s been out there trying to help fairly win elections.”
DISPATCHES FROM ACADEMIA: ‘Am I safe here?’ TPUSA student speaks out after GWU official calls Kirk assassination ‘fair.’
A conservative George Washington University student is speaking out after an assistant campus director at George Washington University posted on social media that it was “fair” Charlie Kirk was assassinated because he supported the Second Amendment.
“If nothing else, it is fair, in a nation where children get massacred by gun violence on the regular, the people who advocate for continued gun ownership at the expense of those children are not immune from the consequences of their advocacy. No thoughts, and no prayers,” posted Anthony Pohorilak, assistant director of academic initiatives at George Washington University’s Mount Vernon campus.
He wrote the message on Facebook, according to Fox News, which first reported on the post.
Olivia D’Angelo, a GWU graduate student, told The College Fix on Saturday she is “disgusted” by Pohorilak’s post. As an undergrad at UNC Asheville, she founded and served as president of the Turning Point USA chapter there until her graduation in May 2025.
Related: TPUSA received ‘32,000 inquiries in the last 48-hours to start new campus chapters.’

Chaser: Drug War: 62% Approve Military Strike.
Using the military against foreign drug traffickers has majority approval among American voters.

SPACE: Firefly Aerospace’s Alpha rocket cleared to fly again after April 29 launch failure. “The approval follows a months-long review of the failed ‘Message in a Booster’ mission in April, during which the rocket’s first stage broke apart moments after separation and compromised the vehicle’s second stage. The closure of the investigation, which was announced on Aug. 26, clears the way for Firefly to resume Alpha launches, the preparations for which the company says have already begun.”
