T. BECKET ADAMS: Where does Sarah Palin go for her apology?

Even today, a simple search on Microsoft’s Copilot for the date when the former governor coined the term “death panel” carefully notes that her accusation quickly became a viral talking point despite “being widely debunked as a myth.”

Fifteen years after Palin’s remark, disability advocate Krista Carr testified before members of the Canadian parliament that her organization receives weekly reports of medical assistance in dying (MAID) services being suggested unprompted to disabled individuals during routine, non-terminal care visits.

Who could have predicted that government-controlled healthcare, combined with legalized euthanasia, would eventually lead to the sick and uncomfortable being told to kill themselves?

Where does Palin go for her apology?

Canada, whose lawmakers, celebrities, and influencers often boast about their “free” healthcare and stringent anti-gun laws, recorded an astonishing 16,499 MAID suicides, or legalized doctor-assisted suicides, in 2024, following 22,535 such requests that year.

In 2023, the number of MAID suicides was approximately 15,500.

For reference, 2023’s recorded figure gives us a per capita rate of 37 MAID suicides per 100,000 people. During the same year, the United States recorded around 18,000 gun-related homicides, yielding a per capita rate of 5 gun-related murders per 100,000 people.

Put another way, a Canadian has a greater chance of dying by MAID than an American has of being shot dead.

How’s that for perspective?

Pretty sickening, to be honest.

MOVE ALONG, NOTHING TO SEE HERE:

I’LL EVEN THROW IN THE SMOKES:

ALLOW THE STATE TO WITHER AWAY SO PEOPLE CAN PRACTICE TRUE CAPITALISM: Venezuela’s oil industry is in shambles after decades of socialism — but Trump needs it to make the country great again.

President Trump has made clear he wants to revitalize Venezuela’s oil industry so he can use the cash to make the country great again — but the sector is in shambles after decades of plunder, talent flight and negligence as a result of socialist rule.

After capturing Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro over the weekend, Trump vowed that US companies would soon tap into the nation’s rich oil reserves, which Caracas says hold about 303 billion barrels worth of petrol, roughly 17% of the world’s supply.

Production has plummeted since hitting a high in 1997 — and the country produced just 900,000 barrels of oil per day in 2024, about 6% of what the US puts out.

Additionally, the oil companies’ holdings were nationalized and seized twice — once in 1976 and again by Maduro’s predecessor Hugo Chavez in 2007.

“Get the hell out of my way,” the wise man once said.

2026 IS SHAPING UP TO BE A VERY BIG YEAR IN SPACE: Moon rush: These private spacecraft will attempt lunar landings in 2026.

Firefly’s next lunar mission is particularly interesting:

Texas-based Firefly is gearing up to return to the moon one year after its historic landing of Blue Ghost in Mare Crisium on the near side. Blue Ghost M2 is the next step in the company’s push to become a repeatable commercial lunar delivery provider. It will fly as part of the NASA Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program, while also carrying commercial and international payloads.

Blue Ghost M2 will launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket no earlier than the second quarter of 2026, aiming to land on the far side of the moon — a feat that only China has achieved to date, with Chang’e 4 in 2019 and Chang’e 6 in 2024. Among six government and commercial payloads will be the Rashid Rover 2 for the United Arab Emirates and a wireless power receiver for Volta Space.

Godspeed…

SECOND-ORDER EFFECTS:

FALLOUT: Something Kind of Funny Happened in Caracas. “It was apparently the Presidential Guard spotting unidentified flying objects overhead and unleashing hell upon them, probably thinking it was, indeed, the United States. But it was actually…wait for it… their own drones. These dudes were, by all accounts, shooting up their own equipment and wreaking havoc on the streets. You can’t make this stuff up.”

MAKE AMERICA AFFORDABLE (AND TRIM) AGAIN: Novo Nordisk launches Wegovy weight-loss pill in US, triggering price war.

The Danish pharmaceutical company said on Monday that its once-a-day Wegovy pill, which received approval from the US regulator just before Christmas, was now available in the country.

It launched the drug – the first and only pill on the market that imitates the GLP-1 hormone to reduce appetite – at significantly lower prices than injectable versions.

Novo, which is known for its hit Wegovy and Ozempic injections for obesity and diabetes respectively, said the launch “opens new possibilities for the more than 100 million Americans living with obesity”.

Self-paying patients can buy the pill for $5 (£3.70) a day, or $149 a month, for the starting dose of 1.5mg. Apart from being more affordable, the new version is expected to have wider appeal by being needle free and easier for the patient to fit into their routine.

The 4mg dose will also be available for $149 a month until 15 April, then $199, while the highest doses cost $299 a month. Patients with insurance pay from $25 a month.

Genuine body positivity just got more affordable.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: We Didn’t Start the Fire, But We Rocked the Casbah! Happy 5th J6 Anniversary! “I remained dressed every night until 7:00 a.m. for months in case America’s KGB kicked in our door. Animals threatened to rape my fiancée, Jessica, while I was ‘deservedly getting raped like the traitor I am’ in the hoosegow.”

DECLINE IS A CHOICE: Dallas Mayor: Wall Street to Bolt NYC Under Mamdani.

The mayor of Dallas says he’s ready to welcome a coming “flood” of Wall Street firms if New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani follows through on his socialist agenda — and even warned that Texas could one day dethrone New York as the nation’s financial capital.

Dallas is now the second-largest financial services hub in the U.S., having added more than 100,000 finance jobs over the past decade, and Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson said he expects that growth to accelerate under Mamdani.

“The action isn’t here,” Johnson said of The Big Apple, the New York Post reports. “The action is in the western part of the country.”

“What was already a trickle is going to turn into a flood of individuals and companies who have called New York home for a long time, moving to Dallas,” Johnson said.

The 50-year-old Republican compared New York’s potential decline to Venice losing its dominance as Europe’s premier trading hub centuries ago.

“It’s not inconceivable at all that within a certain number of years, people look back and go, ‘Do you remember back when New York was the financial capital of the United States? Isn’t that weird?’” Johnson said.

Amazing, isn’t it, how easy it is to predict where “bad luck” will strike next?

SPOILER: He doesn’t even care how anything works in the real world.

You’re gonna need a bigger stadium, Zohran.

Much bigger.
