WHERE DO OUR MEMORIES GO? You can’t physically measure your memories but you know you have them from way back, so where does your body store them? Or are they even in your body when you access them? Scientist Phillip Cunningham has some challenging thoughts on this and related questions on HillFaith this morning.

A HUGE QUESTION: If God exists, why does He allow evil in the world? Cold Case Christianity’s J. Warner Wallace, who saw more than his share of heinousness with the  Los Angeles Police, applies his manifold detective skills to this perennial issue on HillFaith.

HERE’S THE DEMS NOVEMBER GAME: Have you noticed how whatever Democrats accuse Republicans of doing is almost always a good indicator of what they themselves are doing? The big brains at Issues & Insights did a little thinking along those lines regarding the November election and they note this:

“For one thing, if defeating Donald Trump is the Democrats’ paramount concern (to ‘save democracy’ and all), Biden staying in the race seems like the worst possible choice. He is hugely unpopular, and that’s not likely to change. Minorities and independents are gravitating toward Trump.

“Biden’s physical and mental state will only get worse, and his decline is by all evidence, accelerating. It’s an open question whether he’d agree to, or would be able to, debate Trump. The chance that he will do something catastrophically stupid or embarrassing grows by the day, and the White House can’t keep him locked away until Nov. 6.”

Ergo – all these Mainstream Media pieces this week about how Biden will be the Democratic nominee no matter what Special Counsel Hur reported about the chief executive’s mental faculties are just another example of the opposite of what Dems say is what is actually going down.

No wonder Michelle and Gavin are so quiet. They know how this game is played by their buddies.

MAYORKAS IMPEACHED: By one vote, thanks to the return to the House chamber of Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) who missed the first, failed impeachment attempt against Alejandro Mayorkas last week.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS: That convincing evidence of extra-terrestrial life will be found within the next 15 years, that is. The Discovery Institute’s Mind Matters reports on a wager among a couple of smart guys:

“Astrobiologist Dirk Schulze-Makuch, who leads the Astrobiology Research Group at the Technical University of Berlin, has bet University of London planetary scientist Ian Crawford a bottle of whisky that within 15 years, ‘convincing evidence for technological life elsewhere in the Universe will be found.’”

PROTECT AMERICA’S BORDERS FIRST, THEN UKRAINE’S: Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) makes a compelling case during a marathon four-hour+ speech to a mainly empty Senate chamber. REPOSTED.

HERE’S WHY SENATE BORDER DEAL BLEW UP: That Lankford-Murphy-Sinema border security compromise went nowhere for several reasons. The only surprise is that anybody was surprised that the proposal had such a short, unhappy life.

THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW: Back in the day when Joe Lockhart was President Bill Clinton’s chief White House spokesman, he referred to Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman as a “ruthless killer.” The Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross reports this morning that Lockhart is now the ruthless killer’s payroll.

HOUSE TO VOTE ON MAYORKAS IMPEACHMENT: In a bit of a political puzzler, House Republicans are charging forward to bring two articles of impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the full House of Representatives for a vote Tuesday.

The House Rules Committee cleared the way Monday evening by adopting a closed rule that means there will be no floor amendments. But there is huge doubt about the outcome because two Republicans — Tom McLintock of California and Ken Buck of Colorado — are all-but-certain no votes.

That means Mayorkas may survive Tuesday’s vote. Then will begin the serious second-guessing of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s decision to push for the vote so quickly. More in my Epoch Times report from the scene.

WHAT SENATE DEMS REFUSED TO TALK ABOUT IN BORDER TALKS: There is nothing in that immigration reform package negotiated by Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Az.) that addresses the effects of the 8 million illegal aliens already allowed into the country under Joe Biden.

WELL THIS WAS UNEXPECTED: Latest edition of the Beckett Foundation for Religious Liberty’s annual survey finds a huge increase in support of religious freedom for everybody, fueled apparently by worries about protecting parents’ rights.

“Support for religious freedom hit its highest score ever of 69 on a scale of 0 to 100. The 2023 results found that Americans strongly back the right of parents to raise their children consistent with their faith and believe that religion is part of the solution to America’s problems — up nine percentage points from last year,” Beckett said.

FINALLY! COVID VACCINE TRUTH: It only took four years, with more than a million American deaths along the way, but a new peer-reviewed medical journal calls for a a moratorium on mRNA vaccine use, especially among children. This is a preview, in my latest PJMedia column, of a coming wave of class-action lawsuits that could produce unprecedented jury awards.

PUNCTURING POLYAMORY: Kay Hymowitz examines the increasingly visible polyamory movement and concludes that, in addition to all the predictable problems that plague such arrangements, it is “a textbook example of what Rob Henderson calls ‘luxury beliefs.'”

Those are views held without risk of being subjected to reality. Think of the rich liberal proclaiming “defund the police,” who lives in a high-dollar, gated community with well-armed security.

SPEAKING OF PROTECTING KIDS: You no doubt heard or read about the latest edition of “Tech CEOs Let Congress Bash Them for the Cameras,” the Senate hearing earlier this week during which, among much else, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg “apologized” to the crowd of grieving parents in the audience who claimed their children died due to bullying on social media or other causes related to the digital universe.

And speaking of Facebook, Tara Fredericks, the Heritage Foundation’s resident expert on these issues, spent a good part of her career at Facebook prior to hitching up with the country’s biggest conservative think tank. Here’s her take on the hearing and the issue that prompted it:

“This hearing is taking place against the backdrop of mounting evidence of a direct link between social media and negative mental health impacts on children and teenagers. A 2023 study by University of North Carolina neuroscientists found that habitual social media use may be rewiring the brains of children as young as 12 years old.

“Similarly, a March 2022 study by Cambridge University discovered a direct relationship between increased social media use and a decrease in life satisfaction in young adolescents. While these studies show alarming trends, we also know the real-life consequences from talking with parents who have seen firsthand the effects of social media on their own children.

“This hearing is an important step toward accountability and solutions, especially as companies target younger and younger users. Insulating our children from the predations of Big Tech and empowering parents to fight back must be a top priority.”

Frankly, I am skeptical that anything concrete will actually happen as a result of the hearing, but one can always hope. It was worth watching if only to see the Zuck actually turn and face his accusers in a moment of something approximating accountability.

WHAT ABOUT THAT ABORTION REVERSAL PILL? It stands to reason that a chemically-induced abortion can under the right circumstances be reversed, thus saving the unborn child from death.

Thus far, the Abortion Reversal Pill (APR) is not fail-safe, but the latest “What Would You Say?” video on HillFaith presents solid evidence that the medication does work about two-thirds of the time. Bet you haven’t read that in the New York Times or the Washington Post.

REAGAN’S NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST GOURMET COOK ANECDOTE: The 2024 edition of the National Prayer Breakfast convened earlier today in Washington, D.C. and that makes it a great day to remember on HillFaith a vintage joke by President Ronald Reagan that both prompted laughs and made a serious point about the Creation.

And as author Dr. John G. West explains in impressive detail, Reagan’s faith was not merely an occasional thing. West does a superb job of explicating the little-reported links between the former president’s faith and his Berlin Wall declaration “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

There are also important background links to a crucial conversation between Reagan and Gorbachev at the Moscow Summit in 1988 that prompted a great opening of religious freedom in Russia.

BIDEN’S HANDLERS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE GETTING HIM INTO: When the Texas National Guard issues a warning, it should be believed.

BIDENOMICS’ FAILURE SEEN IN NEW SURVEY: The latest Issues & Insights/TIPP Poll offers an abundance of new data showing the utter failure of President Joe Biden’s economic policies to persuade voters that they are better off under him than they were under the man who preceded him in the Oval Office, Donald Trump.

“While the U.S. remains a wealthy country compared to others, nearly two-thirds of Americans say they are ‘living ‘paycheck to paycheck these days’ in the latest I&I/TIPP Poll, conducted from Jan. 3-5 from among 1,401 registered voters. The poll has a +/-2.6 percentage point margin of error.

“This shocking result comes as some on Wall Street and many politicians applaud recent data showing solid growth in the fourth quarter, along with a slowing rate of inflation.  What’s equally surprising is that the public’s concern is bipartisan, with 63 percent of Democrats, 67 percent of Republicans, and 62 percent of independents saying they’re just scraping by each payday.”

Can you spell “Michelle Obama-Gavin Newsom in 2024”?

THEY WILL DECIDE MAYORKAS’ IMPEACHMENT: Three of those 14 House Democrats who voted to condemn Biden’s open border now say they will oppose those two Articles of Impeachment against the President’s chief border host.

THE MAYORKAS PROBLEM FACING 14 HOUSE DEMS: Republicans on the House Committee on Homeland Security voted unanimously after 14 hours of often-rancorous debate to refer two Articles of Impeachment against Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the full House. Speaker Mike Johnson has said he wants that vote to come as soon as possible.

But whenever that vote comes, 14 House Democrats, who earlier this month supported House Resolution 957, which condemned the Biden border policies, will have to decide whether to put join the GOP in actually holding Mayorkas accountable. Stay tuned.

IF YOU EVER WANT TO SEE THE RAW SIDE OF DEMOCRACY: Go to a congressional hearing that starts at 10 am and continues with no end in sight as the clock approaches midnight.

GUERRILLA WARFARE AT MAYORKAS IMPEACHMENT MARKUP: The hearing opened with Democratic motions to cancel or delay the process. No surprise there.

WHOSE SILVER BULLET WINS 2024? Democrats are confident abortion will be their silver bullet to win the 2024 elections, but a GOP pollster points to new data that strongly suggests the border chaos will do the trick for the Republicans. Read it here only in my Special Report for The Epoch Times.

MAYORKAS IMPEACHMENT ARTICLES POSTED: House Committee on Homeland Security will almost certainly vote on a straight-party vote Tuesday to adopt these two Articles of Impeachment of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Majorkas.

EMAILS REVEAL WHY CDC ISSUED NO ALERT ON MYOCARDITIS: The Epoch Times’ Zachary Stieber obtained emails and other documents that show CDC leaders chose not to warn Americans about a frequently fatal side effect of the Coronavirus vaccines.

This is a HUGE story and one that reveals more about why the “Public Health” establishment has about as much credibility with Americans as used car salesmen and Bitcoin scam artists. That said, the story will be all but totally ignored by the Mainstream Media, the Biden administration and congressional Democrats (more than a few Republicans on the Hill as well).

The good news is there are still senators like Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, who told Stieber that the “CDC’s apparent decision to not immediately issue a formal alert to clinicians warning them about the increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis in vaccinated individuals is not only inexcusable, it’s malpractice,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).

Johnson is currently the Ranking Republican on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. If the GOP regains the Senate majority in November, Johnson will be in a position to do something serious about CDC malpractice.
