HARVARD STUDENTS LEARNING SOMETHING? HEY, IT COULD HAPPEN! Harvard students having second thoughts about siding with Hamas. “Harvard is a place where microaggressions are very serious but siding with terrorist murderers, not so much.”

UPDATE: From the comments: “The lesson is that luxury beliefs vanish the instant the luxury is threatened. How much of our fake politics would turn in an instant if we didn’t have institutional enforcement and narrative policing, and everyone just had to stand on their own behind their own thoughts? What if radical chic consistently cost something? What if tenured communists had risk?

Pushback works.

ANOTHER UPDATE: From the comments: “On every issue we need to find the equivalent of bussing/flying in illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities.”

CAN IT COME HERE?

The short answer to this is, “Yes. Next question.” For anyone who requires an explanation, rather that showing strength, Biden and Blinken are too cowardly to take a strong position against Iran. Rather than even criticize a terrorist outlaw regime, Biden hopes to consummate a nuclear treaty with mullahs who make no secret of their religious desire to destroy “the Great Satan,” and who support the beheading of infants and their mothers.

During Biden’s administration, there has been an increasing number of criminal “migrants” on the FBI’s terrorist watch list, who have been apprehended at our Southern border, including 160 through July 2023 alone in just this year. As of April 2023, the Border Patrol confirmed that 1.2 million illegal “migrants” “got away” from authorities while crossing the border under this administration. And these got-aways are just those who were spotted but not apprehended. If only 0.1 % of those among them are terrorists, that would be an additional 1,200 terrorists God-knows-where in the U.S. And, we have no idea how many terrorists have infiltrated into the Country, often with the aid of the Mexican drug cartels, without being caught. But it is a certainty that they are here.

Does anyone believe they will not attempt another attack here? Not a limited isolated attack on a single nightclub or a pipe bomb in Times Square, but a massive and complex attack intended to inflict maximum horror such as the murder of thousands, beheading of babies, recording the murder of grandmothers and sending the videos to their families, burning women and children alive, and more.

Do not think that cannot happen here. And, for our political leaders, you must do everything in your power to stop this appeasement.

If they do something, it will look like Day of Wrath, by William Forstchen.

SETTING A GOOD EXAMPLE: Israeli woman, 25, hailed as a hero for killing terrorists, leading team that saved kibbutz from Hamas.

Inbar Lieberman, the security coordinator of Kibbutz Nir Am since December 2022, heard explosions early Saturday, when the terrorists launched their unprecedented attack on the Jewish state, according to Walla News.

She realized that the sounds were different than those heard during the usual rocket attacks on the kibbutz — located near Sderot and a stone’s throw from the Gaza Strip.

So Lieberman rushed to open the armory, distributed guns to the 12-member security team and coordinated their decisive response amid the unfolding attack.

She placed her squad of kibbutzniks in strategic positions across the settlement and set up ambushes that caught the gunmen off guard and turned the tables on them during their mission to inflict mass casualties.

This is great, though I’d recommend ensuring that the security team has personal weapons ready to hand at all times, without waiting for someone to open the armory. I know the Minuteman model isn’t an Israeli thing, but maybe it should be.

GIVE HIM CONSEQUENCES, THAT’S THE ONLY WAY THEY LEARN: Principal reinstates privileges for senior after punishment for dancing video; ‘too little, too late,’ mom says. “It’s too little, too late. I even told him on the phone conversation when he made it to us at noon today asking us to come into the office and he mentioned reinstating the scholarship, I let him know that the scholarship deadline was done, and the damage that he’s done to her is done.”

AIRBRUSHING AT GOOGLE:

They’re covering for people who endorsed this:

“GENERAL COUP:” Let’s be honest about Mark Milley’s legacy. “Promoted as the supposed savior of the republic by a well-orchestrated public relations campaign and a fawning press, Milley exhibited ambitions more akin to those of a partisan military commissar than the nation’s senior military adviser under the authority of the president. His tenure proved destructive to post-WWII civil-military norms, the integrity of the military chain of command, and the image of the U.S. military as being worthy of public trust. Milley supervised a subversive revolution in military culture.”

BIDEN’S ROLE: HOLDING ISRAEL’S COAT, OR HOLDING ISRAEL BACK?

We need a victory in this war, as I see it, that will … at least equal what we had in ’67, if not dwarf it. To achieve that kind of a victory, we need to take out Iran’s entire system. We need to take out Hamas not only in Gaza but also in Judea and Samaria, which is the Palestinian Authority. What we need to do is we need to take serious action to devastate Hezbollah and its war-fighting capabilities in Lebanon. We need to undermine the stability of the Iranian regime and take out its ability to transform the nuclear capabilities that it now fields into a nuclear arsenal.

These are things that Israel needs to do. And I don’t even think that there’s a question that we can get away with less. And my fear from the American embrace is that they’re here to prevent that from happening.

Entirely plausible.

HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE: Bay Area high school grad rejected by 16 colleges hired by Google.

College admissions decisions disappoint thousands of high-achieving students each year, but one Palo Alto teen’s story is catching the attention of Congress.

Stanley Zhong, 18, is a 2023 graduate of Gunn High School in Palo Alto.

Despite earning 3.97 unweighted and 4.42 weighted GPA, scoring 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT’s and founding his own e-signing startup RabbitSign in sophomore year, he was rejected by 16 out of the 18 colleges he applied to.

But shortly after the wave of rejections, he was offered a full-time software engineering role by Google, one of the world’s top tech companies. . . . Zhong’s story was brought up by a witness testifying at the House Committee on Education and the Workforce hearing. The goal of the hearing was to consider how this summer’s Supreme Court decision banning affirmative action in college admissions is shaping university policies, policies that confound Zhong and his father.

Everyone knows that if he’d been black instead of Asian with the same scores he would have been accepted everywhere. On the other hand, why should he waste 4 years in college when he can start work at a six-figure job out of high school, probably the same job he’d get with a BS in computer science?

HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE: It’s not hyperbole, it’s real. Your professors and classmates hate Jews. Hamas terrorists rape Jewish women next to civilian carcasses, lock Jewish children in cages, and threaten to behead Jewish Holocaust survivors, and yet far-left academics and students do not care.

Higher education is productive of so much bigotry and ignorance that we really need to reconsider whether it deserves such a prominent and well-funded place in our society.

ARNOLD KLING: “Many Israel supporters wish to frame the Hamas assault as “Israel’s 9/11.” I do not like that analogy. I think that a better analogy is with Pearl Harbor.”

Let me add a caution. Hamas planned a war. They must have known that the Israeli response would be crushing. It’s safe to bet that they have prepared a very ugly urban-warfare defensive plan against just the sort of straight-in assault that everyone is talking about. It might be wise to respond somewhat differently.
