QUESTION ASKED: Brittney Griner is coming home. Will she stand for the anthem now that she’s back in the USA? All of America rejoices that Brittney Griner has been released from Russia. Will our national anthem have a different meaning for her now?
AND AGAIN: Energy department official Sam Brinton accused of stealing luggage from Las Vegas airport. “Brinton faces charges for a similar incident at the Minneapolis airport. He was on leave after charges were filed in connection with that incident, an energy department spokesman said in November.”
TWITTER FILES PART TWO: Blacklists and shadowbanning. “Anyone who guessed that conservative voices were targeted and put on these lists by Twitter, come collect your prize.”
STOPPED CLOCK: Holy Cow! Whoopi Goldberg Defends Blazing Saddles.
The hosts of “The View” launched into a debate about how classic comedies are aging in 2022 — a topic inspired by Mindy Kaling’s recent comment that “The Office” is “so inappropriate now” and could never be made today.
Goldberg argued the 1974 Mel Brooks flick “Blazing Saddles” “deals with racism by coming at it right, straight, out front, making you think and laugh about it — because, listen, it’s not just racism, it’s all the ‘-isms.’ He hits all the ‘-isms.’”
(…)‘Blazing Saddles,’ because it’s a great comedy, would still go over today — there are a lot of comedies that are not good, OK? We’re just going to say that — that’s not one of them. ‘Blazing Saddles’ is one of the greatest because it hits everybody,” Goldberg insisted.
““Leave my ‘Blazing Saddles’ alone. Don’t make me come for you,” Goldberg quipped at the end of the segment.”
We’ve descended into some sort of bizarre hell-world in which Whoopi Goldberg is a voice of sanity.
JIM JORDAN SINGLE HANDEDLY WRECKED THE DEMOCRATS’ ATTEMPT TO DISCREDIT THE SUPREME COURT: “In a book Schenck wrote titled ‘Costly Grace,’ Schenck made a huge deal out of being recognized as ‘Reverend’ within the Supreme Court, making him the first person in history to be recognized by that title. However, in front of Jordan’s whithering questions, that claim quickly collapsed. Watch as Jordan brutally obliterates Schenck’s false claims with transcripts and audio, and further proves that he’s not credible in any way.”

Musk responded on Tuesday by highlighting the irony of San Francisco wasting time inspecting Twitter’s headquarters when the city overall remains in disarray. He directed his response at Mayor London Breed (D).
“So city of SF attacks companies providing beds for tired employees instead of making sure kids are safe from fentanyl,” Musk responded. “Where are your priorities @LondonBreed!?”
Musk linked to a horrific story detailing how a 10-month-old baby died last week after having “suffered an accidental fentanyl overdose” while playing at a San Francisco park.
The baby’s tragic death remains under investigation.
Don’t underestimate the magnitude of Musk’s accomplishment:

WNBA’S BRITTNEY GRINER RELEASED BY RUSSIA IN 1-FOR-1 PRISONER SWAP FOR ARMS DEALER VIKTOR BOUT: “To secure Griner’s release, the president ordered Bout to be freed and returned to Russia. Mr. Biden signed the commutation order cutting short Bout’s 25-year federal prison sentence. Notably, the Griner-for-Bout exchange leaves retired U.S. Marine Paul Whelan imprisoned in Russia. Whelan has been in Russian custody for nearly four years. He was convicted on espionage charges that the U.S. has called false. ‘We’ve not forgotten about Paul Whelan,’ Mr. Biden said Thursday, adding ‘we will never give up’ on securing his release. U.S. officials told reporters that it became clear in talks with the Russians that the prospect of exchanging both Griner and Whelan for Bout was a nonstarter, with one saying the U.S. had was ‘a choice between bringing home one particular American — Brittney Griner — or bringing home none.’”
Jim Geraghty dubs the trade “A Terrible Concession to Putin’s Russia.” “It is likely that one of the reasons the Biden administration went ahead with this deal was their confidence that enough allies would choose to characterize it as a major diplomatic victory, not an epic concession to a hostile state that is likely to try to use the same strongarm tactics again in the future.”

AMERICA’S NEWSPAPER OF RECORD: In Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Address, Kamala Harris Urges Nation Not To Forget January 6. “‘Pearl Harbor was bad. They dropped bombs on big, big boats. But January 6 was even more bad,’ said Harris in her speech. ‘They did an insurrection. An insurrection on the government. And we almost became a Nazi country. Remember it? We should all remember. The passage of time is very significant, but it will never make January 6 go away from our hearts. Amen.’”
DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT HISTORY: Jennifer Lawrence Makes Bizarre Claim, Takes Credit for Work of Female Actresses Before Her.
Did you know that before “The Hunger Games,” there were no female leads in cinema?
That’s what Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence is claiming, at least.
In a recent conversation between Lawrence and actress Viola Davis, the lead actress in the movie “The Woman King,” Lawrence claimed that before her famous movie, women in lead roles in action movies were effectively unheard of because “girls and boys could both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead.”
This is a ridiculous sentiment, seeing as how women in lead roles did indeed happen before Lawrence showed up on the scene. This includes:
- Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver): Alien (1979)
- Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton): Terminator (1984)
- Natalie, Dylan, and Alex (Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu): Charlie’s Angels (2000)
- Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie): Tomb Raider (2001)
- Alice (Milla Jovovich): Resident Evil (2002)
- Selene (Kate Beckinsale): Underworld (2003)
- The Bride (Uma Thurman): Kill Bill (2003)
- Aeon Flux (Charlize Theron): Æon Flux (2005)
- Elektra (Jennifer Garner): Elektra (2005)
And this is hardly an exhaustive list.
Diana Rigg, Stefanie Powers, and Monica Vitti would also like to put in a word as well from the 1960s.
UNEXPECTEDLY! House Financial Services Chair Maxine Waters doesn’t plan to subpoena Sam Bankman-Fried to testify at hearing on FTX collapse.
Bankman-Fried’s fall from grace was swift and unforgiving after spending years as the crypto “darling” on Capitol Hill. He donated almost $40 million toward the 2022 congressional midterm elections, with much of it going to Democrats.
Nishad Singh, who became FTX’s lead engineer in 2019 following a stint at Bankman-Fried’s trading firm Alameda Research, has donated more than $13 million to Democratic Party causes since the start of the 2020 presidential election.
Ryan Salame, the co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets, donated another $23 million, with most of his contributions benefiting Republicans.
So no SBF this month. Starting next month, things could be very different: For the banks, a ‘more hostile GOP.’
THEY JUST WANT TO DATE HER: AOC under investigation by House Ethics Committee. “A spokesperson for AOC expressed confidence the matter, whatever it is, would eventually be dismissed: ‘The Congresswoman has always taken ethics incredibly seriously, refusing any donations from lobbyists, corporations, or other special interests,’ said Hitt. ‘We are confident that this matter will be dismissed.’ The fact that the new Republican congress will be the one making the decision on this makes me wonder if a dismissal is really a given.”
CAR AND DRIVER TAKES ONE FOR THE TEAM: We Watched the New Lamborghini Movie. Here’s Why You Shouldn’t. Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend is a total mess.
Racing on the streets, scandalous love affairs, V-12s, and Enzo’s scarves: It shouldn’t take much to make a watchable film about sportscar development in 1960s Italy, especially if it’s written and directed by Oscar-winning Bobby Moresco.
Well, anyone can have an off day. We recently watched Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend and caught up with Smoking Tire podcaster (and Road & Track editor-at-large) Matt Farah to compare notes. Spoiler: All notes were bad.
Don’t read on if you don’t want plot point spoilers because you plan to see the movie—but also, if you plan to see the movie, we can only say we warned you.
That’s too bad. I saw Ford vs. Ferrari in the theater in 2019 and absolutely loved it; I was hoping for a similar experience.

MATT TAIBBI DROPS MORE INFORMATION ON THE ‘TWITTER FILES’ AND EXPOSES AN ATTEMPTED COVER-UP:
Matt Taibbi, who authored the first release of the infamous “Twitter Files,” is back for round two. Or at least he’s back to provide a supplement to round one while round two is still being worked on.
According to Taibbi, James Baker, who was general counsel for Twitter and a former top-level FBI official, inserted himself into the disclosure in an attempt to “vet” the files that were ultimately released. Elon Musk was not notified of Baker playing middle-man.
As RedState reported, Baker was fired on Tuesday, and with Taibbi’s latest thread, we now know why. I normally try to not flood my articles with long strings of multiple tweets in a row, but it’s important to get all the information out there.
More details about Baker from Jonathan Turley: Six Degrees from James Baker: A Familiar Figure Reemerges With the Release of the Twitter Files.
Baker has been featured repeatedly in the Russian investigations launched by the Justice Department, including the hoax involving the Russian Alfa Bank. When Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann wanted to plant the bizarre false claim of a secret communications channel between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, Baker was his go-to, speed-dial contact. (Baker would later testify at Sussmann’s trial). Baker’s name also appeared prominently in controversies related to the other Russian-related FBI allegations against Trump. He was effectively forced out due to his role and reportedly found himself under criminal investigation. He became a defender of the Russian investigations despite findings of biased and even criminal conduct. He was also a frequent target of Donald Trump on social media, including Twitter. Baker responded with public criticism of Trump for his “false narratives.”
After leaving the FBI, Twitter seemed eager to hire Baker as deputy general counsel. Ironically, Baker soon became involved in another alleged back channel with a presidential campaign. This time it was Twitter that maintained the non-public channels with the Biden campaign (and later the White House). Baker soon weighed in with the same signature bias that characterized the Russian investigations.
As Howie Carr wrote before Baker’s ouster: Howie Carr: Newly liberated Twitter blows lid off Democrat tainting of 2020 election.
As they attempted to prevent Americans from learning about the Biden family’s racketeering enterprises, the Democrats of Twitter turned to a veteran of the previous attempt by Democrats to steal a presidential election — the Russian collusion hoax.
James Baker had worked for the corrupt FBI in 2016 on, among other frame-ups, the phony-baloney surveillance FISA warrants. For his unstinting efforts in trying to railroad POTUS and everyone around him, Baker’s Democrat comrades rewarded him with a big job at Twitter.
Soon the bent G-man was assuring his fellow travelers that “caution is warranted” in preventing any real news about Democrat corruption from being disseminated to the electorate.
It was the same BS being peddled by 51 other Democrats in the “intelligence community.” They had claimed that Biden’s laptop bore the “hallmarks” of Russian disinformation, which gave the Big Guy cover to lie about it at one of the debates against the racist tangerine.
I could go on, but I’ll close by repeating an earlier statement.
Elon Musk did not commit suicide.
Heh, indeed.
HOWIE CARR: Newly liberated Twitter blows lid off Democrat tainting of 2020 election.
To recap, in 2016 the DNC and Hillary Clinton concocted a fake scandal about Donald Trump and then peddled it to Democrats in the media, who hysterically promoted it for years knowing that it was 100 percent false.
In 2020, after the discovery of Hunter Biden’s X-rated laptop, the Democrats, knowing that everything on it was 100 percent true, peddled the fantastic tale that it was Russian disinformation.
And the same corrupt Democrats in the media, who four years earlier had promoted a bogus scandal about Republicans, now refused to cover a real, far worse scandal about Democrats.
As one person summed it up Friday night on the newly liberated Twitter:
“They stole the election. And they tried to make you think you were crazy for thinking you knew they stole the election.”
Now the Democrats are busted. Their new fallback alibi is that it’s really no big deal to steal an election, at least as long as they’re the ones stealing it.
Thank you, Elon Musk, for your courageous attempt to get the truth out. I don’t care how much money he’s got, what Musk has done could be hazardous to his health. So let me just state the obvious:
Elon Musk did not commit suicide.
Most of the information about Twitter’s Orwellian operation to install a senile vegetable in the White House was already well-known. But the release of the documents (through journalist Matt Taibbi) fills in a lot of the blanks.
All of which answers the question: Why is the mainstream media ignoring the Twitter Files?
