THEY’VE BEEN LOOTING AMERICA FOR DECADES:

INTERESTING POINT:

THIS HAD BETTER COME WITH SOME TAX RELIEF ELSEWHERE OR IT MIGHT COME WITH HELL TO PAY FROM PEOPLE WHO ELECTED TRUMP TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE HIGH COST OF LIVING:

WOEING: NASA Is Investigating Boeing Starliner’s ‘In-Flight Anomalies.’

But when — or if — Starliner will make its next launch attempt, with or without a crew on board, remains to be seen.

“Once we get through these planned test campaigns, we will have a better idea of when we can go fly the next Boeing flight,” said NASA’s Commercial Crew Program manager Steve Stich in the update. “We’ll continue to work through certification toward the end of this year and then go figure out where Starliner fits best in the schedule for the International Space Station and its crew and cargo missions.”

“It is likely to be in the timeframe of late this calendar year or early next year for the next Starliner flight,” Stich added.

Another flight test would be paid for out of Boeing’s pocket. There are rising costs (the company has already lost $1.6 billion on the fixed-price Starliner program) and only so many more manned missions remaining before the ISS is deorbited in 2030.

ROBERT SPENCER: Whose ‘1984’ Is It, Anyway? “The Times can call Trump’s words about Jan. 6 ‘Orwellian’ because it is familiar with the old leftist tactic of accusing the enemy of doing what the accuser is actually doing himself.”

HMM: 2025 Multistate Bar Exam Scores Fall To All-Time Low. Bar exam scores usually correlate pretty closely with LSAT scores; I wonder if this means that the people being admitted in 2021 had lower LSAT scores? Weren’t a lot of schools admitting people without test scores back then?

PRIVACY: 23andMe bankruptcy: With America’s DNA put on sale, market panic gets a new twist.

DNA testing has become a valuable tool for hobbyists and novice genealogists. For some, learning they are the 10th cousin of Paul Revere or the 15th great nephew four times removed of the last King of Prussia is worth the perceived risk of sharing a DNA sample. But what happens when the company harvesting the DNA goes bankrupt?

That was the question posed to millions of Americans last week when 23andMe, the company that popularized consumer genetic testing and had early backing from Google, filed for bankruptcy, leading to a wave of calls for Americans to delete their DNA from the company’s database.

While it’s not 100 percent clear if the “delete your DNA” calls were warranted, privacy experts are alarmed, and Americans who had taken the genetic test took the advice to heart.

According to data from online traffic analysis company Similarweb, on March 24, the day of the bankruptcy announcement, 23andMe received 1.5 million visits to its website, a 526% increase from one day prior. According to Similarweb, 376,000 visits were made to help pages specifically related to deleting data, and 30,000 were made to the customer care page for account closure.

What were people thinking, sending DNA samples like that?

HOLLYWOOD IN TOTO: The One Thing Conservatives Need in Today’s Hollywood.

Conservatives are the champions of complaining about (il)liberal movies, documentaries, television, award shows and art. But do you know what liberals do that we don’t?

FUND art.

They support the next generation of artists and storytellers. Who cares if the content they/them make is garbage? Liberals help out other liberals.

While you’re reading this, Netflix has already greenlit a live-action “Pokémon: Rings of Power.” And do you know who’s writing and directing it? The same progressives who made the 2027 $250 million-budgeted “Dirty Harry” reboot flop (star Chloë Grace Moretz refused to hold a gun).

Where’s our Tyler Perry? Where’s our Dream Collective? Where’s our non-woke Sundance Lab?

Who does the Right have? Mel Gibson? He’s just one man, and no one should bother him while he’s making “The Resurrection of the Christ.

Zachary Levi? He’s a cool dude, and I want him to succeed, but he’s not a billionaire producer.

The Daily Wire? They’re just one company and most of their stuff is behind a paywall (side note: put your movies up for rent on Amazon; people will pay to see “Run Hide Fight” and “Terror on the Prairie” if made available to them).

The only thing that comes close to a conservative cultivation program is the Palladium Pictures Incubator, but it’s for short documentaries, not narrative film.

Also… have you even heard of this program before I told you? Has a single conservative influencer promoted it?

As a filmmaker who wants to tell traditional stories with heartland people, I feel s*** out of luck.

There are so many talented people who are passed over because we don’t want to tell tacky and exhausting Lefty stories. We don’t want to make crap like “Velma” or “Snow Shite” or “Shout Your Abortion: Electric Boogaloo.”

We want to entertain and enlighten.

But we need you conservative and moderate higher-ups to support the true underrepresented voices. We need non-diversity contingent fellowships, labs, film festivals and opportunities for traditional storytellers.

Read the whole thing.

Without conservative movies being funded, this is the career path for many conservatives, and even non-woke center-left Democrats behind the camera in Hollywood: Rachel Zegler’s Snow White flop sparks anti-woke U-turn: Hollywood whistleblowers reveal how trans actors and liberal films are being dumped in ‘crisis mode’ panic.

One woman who is white and in her late 50s could not get hired but was called in to rescue a DEI project, which ended up winning a slew of major awards.

‘The kids who had been handed the film had no experience,’ she says. ‘The budget was out of control, and they were off partying every night.

‘The studio sent me to oversee things and get them back on track. But when the movie won awards, I wasn’t allowed to go up on stage because they didn’t want a middle-aged white woman standing in the middle of the young African American cast members. I was told it wasn’t good optics.’

A male writer, who is 60, tells a similar story. He has worked on some of the most successful shows ever made. He says: ‘When DEI started, my phone stopped ringing. Then it started ringing again with big names at the studios asking me to take a look at scripts and rewrite them.

‘Their DEI hires couldn’t actually do the job. So, they had old white men like me re-writing things. The money was good, but I couldn’t get any credit. That’s the hypocrisy of Hollywood.’

As Conquest’s Third Law of Politics states, “The simplest way to explain the behavior of any bureaucratic organization is to assume that it is controlled by a cabal of its enemies.”

THE NEW SPACE RACE: 1st-ever orbital rocket launch from European soil falls to Earth and explodes seconds into flight.

Germany-based Isar Aerospace attempted to launch the first orbital rocket from European soil on Sunday morning (March 30). The company’s Spectrum rocket lifted off from Europe’s Andøya Spaceport in Norway, but suffered an anomaly 18 seconds into the flight.

Dramatic video from the launch shows the rocket tumbling just seconds into flight before plummeting to the icy ground below and exploding in a brilliant fireball.

It’s unclear what caused the anomaly, but it appears that Isar’s Spectrum rocket began tumbling just seconds into its debut flight. Video from the incident shows the rocket plummeting to the ground with its engines off, so it’s likely that flight controllers terminated the flight once the vehicle began tumbling.

There were no payloads aboard Spectrum’s first test flight today. Isar Aerospace was simply attempting to collect data about the vehicle during the maiden launch.

Here’s the video:

Better luck next time.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Dems’ Media Water-Carriers Are Starting to Get Sore Backs. “In the past, the Democrats would have identified at least one legitimate problem that could have helped them change course, then gotten back to the hunt for bogeymen. What’s the difference now? Why, Trump Derangement Syndrome, of course.”

THE SOVIETS USED TO HOLD FAKE ELECTIONS IN WHICH THE PEOPLE COULD ELECT ANY CANDIDATE THEY WANTED, SO LONG AS IT WAS ONE OF THE TWO PRE-APPROVED COMMUNISTS:

CIVIL RIGHTS UPDATE: Colorado Senate Bill 3: Gun licensing scheme much broader than claimed.

The Colorado legislature is close to final passage of Senate Bill 25-003, to impose one of the most restrictive licensing systems in the nation on many, but not all firearms. Legislators and the public should understand that the bill would apply to all semiautomatic centerfire handguns. The kinds of handguns that Coloradans typically choose—from companies such as Glock, Ruger, or Smith & Wesson—would become much more onerous to purchase.

Senate Bill 3 seems cunningly written. It purports to apply only to the “gas-operated semiautomatic handgun.” (p. 4). The bill then provides five types of gas operation. Cumulatively, the definitions cover almost every centerfire semiautomatic handgun.

The bill does not apply to semiautomatics that fire the puny .22 rimfire cartridge.

There is only one centerfire semiautomatic handgun model that does not fall within the bill’s definitions. That unique item is the Benelli B-80, a collector’s item last manufactured in 1990. The identical gun was produced in six different calibers, model numbers 76 through 82.

As for every other model of semiautomatic pistol, Coloradans will be forced to navigate their way through one of the most onerous systems in the nation, far exceeding even California’s.

The new system includes three additional fees on top of the ones already charged to firearms purchasers in Colorado, and none of those fees are capped. Unlike Colorado’s system for issuing handgun carry licenses, no government official has any obligation to make a decision on an application within a time frame.

That’s a whole lot of infringement.

IMPRISONING POLITICAL OPPONENTS IS ALL THE RAGE IN EUROPE. THIS WON’T STOP WITHOUT SOME POLITICIANS HANGING FROM LAMPPOSTS. Marine Le Pen Barred From Public Office in France. “The prosecutor called for a €300,000 fine and prison term, as well as ineligibility for running for public office for five years. This would impact Le Pen’s ability to seek the French presidency in 2027. The court ruled that Le Pen will be barred from running for public office with immediate effect for five years.”
