ICYMI: MAKE THEM PAY: Jonathan Turley: Sixth Circuit Hands Down Major Free Speech Win for Professor Against the University of Louisville. “The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit handed down a major victory for free speech this week in favor of a professor challenging his treatment by the University of Louisville. In Josephson v. Ganzel, a unanimous panel ruled for Dr. Allan Josephson who was subject to adverse actions after he publicly expressed skepticism over some treatments for youth diagnosed with gender dysphoria. The decision is important because it deals with qualified immunity and reaffirms liability for the denial of free speech protections. Writing for the panel (including Senior Judge Ronald Lee Gilman and Judge Allen Griffin), Judge Andre Mathis found that university officials could not claim immunity in the denial of free speech protections for faculty.”
Note that being stripped of qualified immuninty means they are subject to personal liability.

FLORIDA MAN FRIDAY [VIP]: He Asked the Cops to Test His ‘Bad’ Drugs.
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE ATTENTION PAID TO THIS: The Biden-Harris Justice Department Has Failed American Jews.
Since October 7, anti-Israel groups have launched widespread assaults on the rights of Jewish Americans, especially but not exclusively on college campuses.
I regularly tweet (@ProfDBernstein) about these incidents and comment, “Where is the Justice Department? Where is the FBI?”
I often get responses like, “isn’t the Department of Education investigating some of these colleges? What can the feds really do?”
The answer is that “the feds,” and the Department of Justice in particular, could do a lot to protect American Jews, and they are doing little to none of it. Here are some examples.
And it’s not because we have a Justice Department that is shy about taking on controversial matters. The contrast between the Justice Department’s nonfeasance when Hamasniks engage in criminal acts, versus its determination prosecute after even the most marginal January 6 hanger-on is striking.

FLASHBACK: New poll shows Pennsylvania voters overwhelmingly reject Biden LNG pause.
A [March 4, 2024] statewide Pennsylvania poll released Monday morning showed 58% of Pennsylvania voters surveyed oppose President Joe Biden’s liquefied natural gas export moratorium after learning the details of the impact it would have on jobs and communities in the state.
The survey showed 41% of voters are more likely to vote against Biden based on him suspending approvals for new facilities that export liquefied natural gas, with 22% of voters are more likely to support him.
In the Scranton media market, this number increases to a majority of voters, 55%, who said they are more likely to vote against Biden based on this announcement
The poll was conducted by Axis Research and surveyed 601 Pennsylvania voters, with a majority of them, 57%, being independent and Democratic voters.
The Biden administration announced on Jan. 26 that it was halting approval of new licenses to export LNG due to climate change.
Why does the Biden-Harris administration hate Pennsylvania workers?
LISTEN SUG, DON’T FORGET TO SAY YOUR PRAYERS: Who’s Ready for World War Three?
(Classical reference in headline.)
DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? I would never pretend to be an expert on firearms, especially rifles of most kinds. (When I was a combat correspondent I was given an M-16A but never fired it).
When I read this headline from CNN it left me scratching my head:
“Georgia school shooter hid an AR-15-style rifle in his backpack and left class with his bag the morning of the deadly rampage.”
Wut? An AR-15 in a backpack? So I did a little research.
- According to Gunbuilders.com, the average AR 15 with a 16″-long barrel measures approximately 32.75″ from the muzzle devices to the buttstock.
- The New York Times did a review of popular school backpacks, and most of them average about 18 x 12 x 6.5 inches.
So would someone with more experience please explain to us how this student managed to fit a 32″ weapon into a backpack that couldn’t possibly be longer than 20 inches or so?
CNN says that “Colt Gray brought the gun into the school on his own. The assault-style rifle could not be broken down, but Gray hid it in his backpack.”
