KEEP GRINDING: SpaceX successfully launches more Starlink satellites. “The satellites were deployed into low Earth-orbit and the first-stage booster returned to Earth where it landed upon the Of Course I Still Love You droneship in the Pacific Ocean, marking its 10th successful flight. The launch was SpaceX’s 48th of the year and 247th all time. . . . The company, which is aiming for more than 100 launches in 2023, has sent hundreds of rockets into space since Falcon 9 saw its first successful launch in 2010.”

GET PSYCHE-D: NASA Prepares To Launch Mission To $10,000 Quadrillion Asteroid.
Psyche is set to launch atop a SpaceX Falcon Heavy (the first interplanetary launch for that rocket) from Space Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center, with additional opportunities scheduled through to 25th October.
After escaping Earth’s gravity, the Psyche spacecraft will use solar electric propulsion to accomplish its six-year journey to asteroid Psyche.
Measuring about 173 miles (279 kilometers) at its widest point, NASA says the asteroid Psyche presents a unique opportunity to explore a metal-rich body that may be part of a core of a planetesimal, the building block of an early planet.
Once the spacecraft reaches Psyche in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, it will spend at least 26 months orbiting the asteroid, gathering images and other data that will tell scientists more about its history and what it is made of.
Luis Dominguez, the systems and electrical lead for assembly, test, and launch operations, is usually based at JPL but has been working full-time at the Cape since early June.
“We are moving forward,” he said, “and we’re confident that when we’re on the pad, we’ll be ready to hit the button. For all of us, we’ll be excited to launch this bird.”
If Psyche lives up to the hype about its metal content, it could be the key that opens up the entire solar system.
JONATHAN TURLEY: “God help us” if Raskin’s idea of normal at DoJ is true.
“Well I was stunned when Raskin said what you’re about to hear is perfectly normal,” began Turley. “And he was sitting in front of two witnesses who are incredibly credible and forthcoming, and they’re saying that this was anything but normal. They had never encountered anything like this before. They were waived off witnesses. They had targets tipped off before searches occurred. They had agreement with prosecutors on multiple felonies that were scuttled. They describe how there was a knowing decision to allow crimes in 2014-2015 to expire because of statute of limitations.”
“It was anything but normal. I mean, God help us if this is the normal process of an investigation and prosecution.”
It’s normal for a corrupt Justice Department, which is what we have.

Fervo’s “enhanced geothermal system” involves drilling deep wells, and then using fracking techniques developed by the oil and gas industry, it fractures hot, impermeable rock underground, creating an artificial geothermal reservoir. The company then pumps water into that reservoir, the water gets really hot, and then the water is pumped back to the surface to power a turbine and generate electricity. What this all adds up to is the prospect of clean, limitless, reliable energy.
Nuclear offers that prospect, too.
