IS IS ESSENTIAL THIS BE KNOWN:  Why Communism is Even Worse Than Fascism.

Note if you don’t click through, that he’s in no way defending fascism. In fact, he says it’s like fighting over flavors of gangrene. And he’s right. But somehow we have made Fascism into the worst thing ever while treating communism as a wonderful, utopian ideology.

It’s important to destroy this illusion. Because Red Fascism or Black Fascism, they’re both really Fascism and rotten.

OPEN THREAD: Expatiate freely.

ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER LAYER IN THE HUNTER BIDEN STORY:

If you put the best possible—least scandalous—face on the Hunter Biden saga, it’s still repellent. A Ukrainian oligarch hired Hunter and paid him a fortune in hopes of influencing his vice-president father’s attitude toward Ukraine—and Joe Biden was just fine with it. Biden and his team falsely dismissed Hunter’s incriminating laptop in 2020 as Russian disinformation not to cover up any crimes but merely to keep embarrassing-but-true information from the American voting public during an election year.

That’s the defense, and it already cops to more sordid official wrongdoing than Donald Trump has ever been found guilty of.

But considering all the facts, the real story has the potential to get much worse. In 2014, Joe Biden was vice president of the United States and the Obama administration’s point man on Ukraine, with a particular interest in addressing Ukrainian corruption. That year, Hunter Biden was hired by the notoriously opaque Ukrainian energy company Burisma to serve on its board. Despite Hunter’s having no work experience or education in energy exploration and extraction, Burisma paid him a salary of $83,000 a month. (About this arrangement, the State Department declared at the time that there was no conflict of interest.)

While Hunter was working for Burisma, Joe Biden pressured Ukrainian leaders to fire prosecutor general Victor Shokin—whose investigation into the company was, according to Shokin’s former deputy, “dormant” at the time.

America’s Newspaper of Record knows how it will all end: McCarthy Says 783rd Impeachable Offense By Biden Will Be The Last Straw. “At publishing time, Republicans confirmed they will soon retaliate against the Bidens by dragging cabinet members before a committee so Jim Jordan can angrily furrow his brow at them.”

HMM: Boomerang meteorite may be the 1st space rock to leave Earth and return. “Nobody knows what this stone is really worth.”

Like everything else, it’s worth what someone will pay. And it’s only the first space rock that we know of to leave Earth and return. The number of meteorites that we find is surprisingly large, but it’s an infinitesimal fraction of those that strike Earth.

“THIS ELABORATE CENSORSHIP CONSPIRACY:”

Former New York Post editor Emma-Jo Morris testified last week to the House Weaponization of Government Committee chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan. The committee has posted the text of her statement here. I have posted video below.

Morris was the deputy politics editor leading national coverage at the Post, where she also reported the Hunter Biden “laptop from hell” series. Her work for the Post is collected here. She has moved on to Breitbart News, also in an editorial capacity.

In her statement Morris recounts her reporting on the laptop, the suppression of her reporting by the FBI, the intelligence community, and social media, all with the cooperation of the media. Morris rightly singles out Politico, which ran the statement of the Deep State 51. She leaves Politico reporter Natasha Bertrand unnamed. Bertrand is the reporter who ran the story that regurgitated the statement straight. She has since moved on to CNN.

Morris’s delivers her statement in a low-key and good-humored manner. While it makes for an excellent review in the form of a first-person account, it is infuriating. Historical in nature, it remains pertinent and timely.

Quotable quote: “Over the last few years, my reporting has been confirmed by virtually every mainstream news outlet, from the Washington Post, to the New York Times, to Politico — when the stakes were nothing, by the way, two years later. No one denies that the laptop is real, that the origin story is exactly what I told you it was in the first place. This elaborate censorship conspiracy wasn’t because the information being reported on was false. It was because the information was true, and a threat to the power centers in this country.”

I left my weekly gig at USA Today because they spiked my pre-election column on how the press was refusing to report about Hunter’s laptop.

PARDON ME WHILE I GO TAKE A BABY ASPIRIN: Everybody seems to be getting blood clots. I don’t know if there’s really a problem or not. Unfortunately, we’ve learned that we can’t trust the people who are in charge of finding out.

STATIN-INDUCED MYOPATHY: Limb girdle muscular disease caused by HMGCR mutation and statin myopathy treatable with mevalonolactone. “Our findings indicate that mevalonolactone is effective both in the treatment of hereditary HMGCR myopathy and in a murine model of statin myopathy. Further large clinical trials are in place to enable the clinical use of mevalonolactone both in the rare orphan disease and in the more common statin myopathy.”

ALEX BERENSON: The scariest poll you’ll see this summer.” In an identically worded poll five years ago, Democrats and Republicans favored free speech online by roughly 3 to 2 margins. Today, Republicans still favor the First Amendment by about that much. But Democrats have turned against it by even more.”

JEFFREY CARTER: Sick of it.

I read several daily emails on venture capital and startups. Virtually all of them cheer against Elon Musk and his leadership on Twitter. All of them. Buried deep down in one today was how a rival, Mastodon, is full of child porn. Threads is totally failing. Other prior competitive efforts to Twitter (TruthSocial, Gab, Parler) are fails. Parler was mounting a challenge but was shut down by the Big Government/Big Tech Fascist alliance.

An entrepreneurship professor at NYU was chiding Elon on Twitter and worrying about wealth inequity in the United States. He tweets “When a private citizen can pay $44 billion for a media company — “the world’s town square” — and both crash the civility of the discourse and incinerate 17 years of brand equity within 10 months …. we have too much concentration of wealth in the hands of too few.”

Wait, I thought Elon built a series of tremendous blowout startup businesses to earn that wealth? Isn’t that what we are supposed to be doing? Prior to Elon, Twitter was a cesspool and worked hand in hand with the US Government to kill free speech. That’s called fascism. I bet the same professor isn’t upset with the way the Washington Post and New York Times operate. I don’t think taking class with him would be all that productive.

I saw an article about how the current US Presidential administration has turned the US military academies into woke factories instead of leadership factories designed to create career officers. Not really a surprise given what they have done everywhere else in the government.

If our leadership class had been suborned by a hostile power in order to destroy us, what would it do differently? Or maybe they’re just crazy. But really, at this point, what difference does it make?

IT’S NOT JUST HILLARY: Turns out one of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s closest advisors was using his personal email to conduct official business. Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Ks.) and four GOP colleagues are demanding an on-the-record conversation with Captain David Morens, a U.S. Public Health Service officer assigned to Fauci’s National Institutes for Health (NIH) division.

They — Marshall, Grassley, Lee, Ernst and Blackburn — are also demanding truckloads of documents and related materials, including Morens’ official and personal emails. It’s not known now whether Morens was familiar with that bleach stuff Hillary found so useful.

Morens was also communicating with NIH grant recipients like EcoHealth Alliance’s Peter Dazsak and others about grant proposals submitted by competitors, an obvious conflict-of-interest. Don’t be surprised if that putrid scent coming from NIH gets worse in coming days.
