JIM TREACHER: What Is Biden Lying About Today?

If there’s one thing Joe Biden has learned during his half-century in Washington, it’s that there are no consequences to lying his ass off. It got him where he is today, and he’s not about to stop now.

No matter how stupid he sounds:

[BIDEN: “Since I took office, families are carrying less debt, their average savings are up…more Americans feel financially comfortable…”]

Whew!

You can lie to people about a lot of things, but a bank statement is a statement of fact. You can’t convince Americans they’re doing better financially than they really are. Your lies won’t put gas in their tanks or food in their children’s bellies. You just sound like a dick.

Biden is hoping that his party operatives with bylines and Chyrons can successfully spin his mush to the masses — and some of the more brazen members of his corps aren’t afraid to try: CNN’s John Harwood: Biden ‘Kept the Heat’ on ‘Extremist Republican Party.’

WELL, JACOBIN:

PUNCH BACK TWICE AS HARD: 5 Indicted APD Officers Sue City, DA Garza, SJW Groups. “The kangaroo court proceedings against 19 APD officers for daring to enforce the law and keep order rather than letting the hard left’s pet Antifa/BlackLivesMatter rioters go on a spree of destruction continues to grind away, but five of the indicted officers are fighting back.”

MICHELLE GOLDBERG: AMBER HEARD GOT SCREWED, BELIEVE ALL WOMEN!

Top-rated NYT comment: “I am really starting to get sick of these partial articles, of the cherry picked facts, of the caveats and concessions for Amber’s side when presenting this trial in the media. I am a progressive, a feminist, work in human rights. I am not a conservative or a wild Johnny Depp ‘tik tok’ fan. I watched the whole trial. I was on Heard’s side, for years. But it was clear as the trial went on, that it is very likely that Heard has fabricated the allegations – something absolutely heinous to do, to destroy someone else’s life. Please Michelle, don’t be dishonest here. Everyone watching the trial could see the facts as they were presented; most people are smart enough to infer their own conclusions that Heard acted with malice.”

Plus: “I haven’t read all the comments, but I haven’t found one that isn’t critical of the position Goldberg takes.”

The “MeToo backlash” that Goldberg deplores is because of people like Goldberg, who wanted to replace fairness with gender-based lynchings.

COLORADO: Marshall Fire To Generate $20 Million In Tax Revenue As Homeowners Skimp: ‘Cobbling Together Dollar By Dollar.’

As Marshall Fire victims struggle to scrape together enough money to rebuild, the state, Boulder County, City of Louisville and RTD will all see a tax windfall from the disaster. Together, they will receive some $20 million in use taxes, which are taxes applied to materials and appliances used to build or, in the case of fire victims, rebuild homes.

It’s tax revenue that homeowners say governments didn’t expect before the disaster and should now refund.

Marshall Together and Superior Rising, organizations made up of fire victims, are now asking for a waiver or refund of use taxes. Of the nearly 1,100 homes destroyed in the Marshall Fire, only about 90 have enough insurance to rebuild.

“People are cobbling dollar by dollar how to do this,” said Tawnya Samauroo, whose home in Louisville was among those burned. Because of factors out of homeowners control, like inflation, the cost to rebuild has skyrocketed.

Samauroo says it will take $840,000 to replace her 1,700 square foot home even though she’s downgrading some things.

That’s an obscene price for a downgraded house of that size, but on top of recent inflation, we’ve been getting Californicated here for a long time.

GOODER AND HARDER, CALIFORNIA: Mendocino County: Where You Could Find the Most Expensive Gallon of Gas in US History at $9.45 Per Gallon.

Earlier: “We’re going to keep at it to ensure the American people are paying their fair share for gas,” is the perfect Kinsley Gaffe for an Obama administration retread like Biden:  As Steven Chu, Obama’s then-incoming energy secretary, told the Wall Street Journal in the fall of 2008: “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

Don’t think of it as yet another crisis by design; it’s all part of Biden’s “incredible transition:” Biden praises high gas prices as part of ‘incredible transition’ of the US economy away from fossil fuels.

Speaking of which: ‘Thanks, Joe:’ Gas Prices Have Officially Doubled Since Biden Became President.

MYSTIFIED: Overdoses Up 700% After Oregon Decriminalizes Hard Street Drugs. Officials Mystified.

There’s a case to be made for decriminalization, but it involves getting serious about mandator rehab and treatment for mental illness — not just leaving sick people out on the street to “self-medicate” themselves to death.

But that’s what passes for progressive compassion.

HORRIBLE FOR THE WORKING CLASS: The Joe Biden Economy: He Doesn’t Get It. “In the past few days, luminaries like Jamie Dimon and Elon Musk, have warned of a coming financial hurricane. My guess is investors that are heavy in cash are waiting like vultures to pounce. I don’t think Dimon and Musk would agree on politics and I notice JP Morgan isn’t Tesla’s banker but they seem to agree we are in for some tough times. Goldman Sachs CEO echoed them and we are seeing other CEO’s on earnings calls talk about the difficulty going forward. For what it’s worth, I bought more puts yesterday on the S+P during the rally. . . . I drove across the country a couple of weeks ago. People are hurting. You can tell. Especially when you chat with the small business owners.”

Plus: “I was wondering when there would be a ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ moment in the Joe Biden Economy. I think it might have been when government officials and Limousine Liberals said to ‘just breast feed’.”
