BLACK WIDOW MURDERS: You can see a clip of the show I was on last night on the Oxygen channel here.

(Bumped, by Glenn).

ED MORRISSEY: John Fetterman defied ‘effete, elite’ caricatures of the Left, declares … elite Manhattan magazine.

Rarely will one see this much water carried at one time for a political candidate from a supposed journalistic outlet. And in fact, one can’t actually see it unless they buy a subscription to New York Magazine, the elite Manhattan publication that spent a lot of pixels and social-media effort to convince everyone that John Fetterman is not (a) elite, (b) effete, and (c) out of touch.

We can certainly stipulate to (b) — Fetterman doesn’t come across as effete at all. That isn’t just due to his impressive size, physicality, or tattoos, although those are contributing factors. “Effete” isn’t a word that springs to mind, however, for someone who chased down an innocent black man with a shotgun for running through his neighborhood, after all. Nor for someone who vandalized a black business.

As for the rest, it’s tough to argue without reading the article itself. Normally, criticism of such an article without a careful read would be a fraught exercise, but thankfully New York Magazine posted a string of tweets laying out their argument, so we can at least chew over that much. Our colleagues at Twitchy have captured the thread laying out the case for Fetterman as a real man of the people, a man they claim has “attained folkloric stature.”

Somewhere, the late Tom Wolfe must be rolling his eyes over what has happened to the magazine he helped launch.

LIBERAL MEDIA SCREAM: Psaki says if media don’t cover, Hunter Biden isn’t news.

This week’s Liberal Media Scream shows the ridiculous spin liberal flacks are eager to use to deflate the Hunter Biden scandal story as the midterm elections near.

In focus this week is former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who said the Hunter Biden story is a big zero since she hasn’t seen it show up on the front pages of many of the nation’s newspapers.

Psaki said on Meet the Press, “As much as there was so much news happening in Washington this week, it doesn’t always translate, and often doesn’t translate, to what voters are talking about in states. And I think that’s what we’re seeing currently.”

Given the revolving door nature of Obama administration retreads such as Peppermint Psaki going into “journalism” (and vice-versa), it’s quite easy to think of the media as Democratic Party operatives with bylines.

Evergreen:

A PACK NOT A HERD: Rita Panahi on Sky News Australia: ‘Inevitable:’ UK citizens do police’s work as climate protesters cause disruptions.

To be fair, the British police have much more important things to do, such as arresting people for tweets that “cause anxiety.”

PENTAGON’S WOKE REVOLUTIONARY: Biden’s Department of Defense (DOD) is now appointing political commissars — Think Ivan Putin in “Hunt for Red October” — and one of them, Kelisa Wing, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for DOD’s Education Activities Office, is in trouble for advocating revolution. You can guess what sort of revolution Wing has in mind.

DON SURBER: Being fired is the best thing that happened to me. “We know what is going on. Democrats are pressing Google, Twitter and the rest to silence dissidents. My guess is this involves some sort of payoffs with taxpayer money. The pressure is on this election season as Democrats hold a vain hope that the midterms won’t flip Congress. But I am going to keep my blog for now because the ad money is nice. Eventually I will move on to Substack when I get enough subscribers. . . . I just was not made to work for somebody else.”

SCOTT JOHNSON: At The Struggle Session. “Over at the University of Minnesota Medical School, one probably shouldn’t be seen with books such as Arthur Koestler’s novel Darkness at Noon or Fan Shen’s memoir Gang of One: Memoirs of a Red Guard. It might reflect an inclination to think for yourself and other such bourgeois indulgences.”

PROTESTS PLANNED AFTER TOP L.A. DEMOCRAT CAUGHT USING RACIAL SLURS IN LEAKED AUDIO:

Much of the conversation focused on maps proposed by the city’s redistricting commission and the councilmembers’ frustration with them, as well as the need to “ensure that heavily Latino districts did not lose economic assets” in the once-in-a-decade process, according to the Times.

The councilmembers then discussed Councilmember Mike Bonin, a White man. In clips of the leaked audio posted by the Times, Martinez is heard recounting a conversation and says “Bonin thinks he’s f**king Black.”

According to the Times, [City Council President Nury Martinez] says Bonin appeared with his son on a float in a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade and he “handled his young Black son as though he were an accessory.”

The Times reported that Martinez also said of Bonin’s child, “Parece changuito,” or “He’s like a monkey.”

FALLOUT: Cyberattacks reported at US airports.

Over a dozen airport websites were impacted by the “denial of service” attack, John Hultquist, head of intelligence analysis at cybersecurity firm Mandiant, told ABC News. That type of attack essentially overloads sites by jamming them with artificial users.

“Killnet,” a pro-Russian hacker group, is believed to be behind the attack, according to Hultquist. While similar groups have been found to be fronts for state-backed actors, Hultquist said there is no evidence the Russian government was involved in directing this attack.

Not much of an attack, really.
