WRONGTHINK: Australia Confiscating Guns of Those Who Don’t Recognize Government Authority. “Police in Western Australia have seized guns and revoked or suspended firearms permits from dozens of owners linked to what investigators describe as sovereign citizen ideologies, or views that reject government authority.”

DISPATCHES FROM THE BLUE ZONES: 13 arrested, four police officers injured in violent Boston Common protest: ‘Completely despicable.’
Thirteen people were arrested Tuesday night in connection with a pro-Palestinian protest that turned violent on the Boston Common and left four police officers injured, including some with broken bones, according to officials.
Protesters “turned on police” at approximately 6:50 p.m. when they began to move from the Common to the area of Tremont and Winter streets, Boston Police said.
“At that time, protesters turned on police, kicking a marked cruiser, assaulting officers, blocking traffic, and setting off devices causing red smoke in the air,” Boston Police spokesman Sgt. Det. John Boyle said in a Tuesday night statement.
Eight men and five women were placed under arrest. No one had been booked as of shortly before 9 p.m.
Four police officers were injured in connection with the incident. Two officers were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Police have preliminary reports of officers with broken bones, but all injuries are considered non-life-threatening, Boyle said.
“Another night of violence against police officers in Boston tonight,” said Larry Calderone, president of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association.
“Our officers were attacked, assaulted and sent to the hospital with injuries. Completely despicable and totally unacceptable. We were outnumbered and understaffed for the event,” he continued.
“We need to put more officers out on the street at these events and help protect ourselves from these ruthless attacks. It’s happening far too often lately with no repercussions,” Calderone told the Herald.
The protesters appeared to be tied to the pro-Palestinian movement. A flyer distributed ahead of the event urged protesters to “Flood Downtown for Palestine.” The demonstration occurred on the two-year anniversary of the Hamas terror attack on Israel that sparked war in the region.

FASTER? PLEASE! FCC launches ‘Space Month’ to fast-track satellite licensing and spectrum reforms.
Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Apex’s new satellite manufacturing facility in El Segundo, California, Carr outlined two main proposals that the FCC is preparing to vote on:
The first would replace “our bespoke licensing process with a licensing assembly line,” which Carr said would presume straightforward satellite and Earth station applications are in the public interest and eligible for expedited approval.
The second proposal would revise siting rules for Earth stations in the upper microwave bands, known as UMFUS, to enable more intensive use of spectrum and simplify approvals for operators.
“We’ll replace a default-to-no at the agency with a default-to-yes framework,” Carr said.
Yes.
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Party Time — Dems’ Narrative Stranglehold Has Vanished. “While President Trump was in political exile, the American propaganda media hacks were at their all-time worst as they worked feverishly to prevent his return to office. When he thwarted that plan, he assembled an administration who is as fearless as he is when dealing with the hostile press. That has been a gamechanger like none I’ve seen in political media.”
SCOTUS: Supreme Court seems skeptical of Colorado’s ban on conversion therapy.
During 90 minutes of oral arguments Tuesday, most of the court’s conservatives and at least one liberal, Justice Elena Kagan, seemed to view the case as primarily one about free speech rather than regulation of how health care professionals interact with their patients.
Several justices also wondered whether a ruling allowing Colorado to ban so-called conversion therapy would amount to a green light to conservative states to ban similar counseling that encourages young people to affirm feelings about their gender identity, even if it differs from the one they were assigned to at birth.
“It’s pretty important that we think about how this would apply to cases down the road. … Can a state pick a side?” Justice Amy Coney Barrett asked.
The case before the court was brought on behalf of Kaley Chiles, a licensed counselor and a practicing Christian who sometimes provides counseling informed by her faith. Chiles says she wants to provide talk therapy to minors who want to reduce feelings of same-sex attraction or feel more comfortable in their bodies. Chiles isn’t licensed to prescribe medication, conduct physical exams or perform surgery.
If that’s the standard, how many people talking to kids about permanently altering their bodies with surgery and hormones meet it?
HARDBALL: Trump Gives Democrats Deadline For When Permanent Government Firings Will Begin.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the majority of his caucus again rejected a continuing resolution Monday, extending the government shutdown. Trump, who’s administration previously teased mass firings as a result of the shutdown, told reporters Tuesday that such could happen if the government shutdown continues for four to five days.
“How many permanent jobs are you talking about eliminating?” a reporter asked Trump.
“I’ll be able to tell you that in four or five days. If this keeps going on, it’ll be substantial, and a lot of those jobs will never come back,” Trump responded. “You’re going to have a lot closer to a balanced budget.”
Exit quote: “We have a lot, I’m not going to tell you, but we’ll be announcing it pretty soon. But we have a lot of things that we’re going to eliminate and permanently eliminate.”

THE NEW SPACE RACE: U.S. Space Force Flags China’s Expanding Web Of On-Orbit Assets.
Beijing began consolidating its military space portfolio under the newly established Aerospace Force in 2015. A decade later, China has deployed more than 1,189 satellites to orbit, according to a September space threat fact sheet published by the Space Force. It has a breathtaking range, spanning global satellite communications networks; position, navigation and timing spacecraft; and inspector satellites that could support wartime operations.
Among recent launches is Yaogan-45, a reconnaissance satellite that was placed in medium Earth orbit (MEO) on Sept. 8 by a Long March 7A rocket. Yaogan-45’s location in MEO—rather than the more common low Earth orbit (LEO)—is a “very unusual” choice for a remote-sensing platform, said Chief Master Sgt. Ron Lerch, Sidari’s senior enlisted advisor.
In 2024, China began launching satellites for Smart Skynet, a new broadband constellation in MEO, to establish data relay infrastructure in that orbit, Lerch noted. The network is planned initially to include eight spacecraft operating at 20,000 km (12,430 mi.) but could grow to as many as 32, with space-to-space connectivity to networks in higher and lower orbits, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. (CASC).
“That starts to paint a picture . . . that they value remote sensing to the point where they want resiliency, and layers of it,” Lerch said.
China still can’t match SpaceX for sheer lift or cost to orbit, but they’re working very hard at it.

REPUBLICANS POUNCE! Trump’s GOP seizes on violent rhetoric from Virginia AG candidate as high-stakes elections loom.
Republicans are seizing on recently unearthed violent rhetoric from Virginia’s Democratic candidate for attorney general in a push to re-shape the state’s governor’s race — and tarnish the Democratic Party nationally — less than a month before Election Day.
President Donald Trump, like Republicans across Virginia, called for Democratic state attorney general candidate Jay Jones to quit the race over the weekend. The Republican president described Jones as a “radical left lunatic” and sought to link him to former Rep. Abigail Spanberger, Virginia’s Democratic candidate for governor.
“Abigail Spanberger, who is running for Governor, is weak and ineffective, and refuses to acknowledge what this Lunatic has done,” Donald Trump wrote on social media.
The clash over Jones’ violent rhetoric, shared in a 2022 private text message exchange published on Friday, comes just four weeks before voters in Virginia and New Jersey choose new state leaders. History suggests that the party that holds the White House — Trump’s Republican Party in this case — struggles in off-year elections, but Republicans hope the scandal might tilt next month’s elections in their direction.
How dare Republicans notice that the Democrats’ candidate for attorney general wants to murder their children.
