EVERYTHING IS PROBLEMATICAL: Disney Thinks Tinker Bell and Captain Hook Are ‘Potentially Problematic.’ “Tinker Bell (yes, I thought it was one word too) raised concern because she is ‘body conscious’ and jealous of Peter Pan’s attention. A young attractive woman who cares about her appearance and likes boys—the horror! Meanwhile they reportedly fretted over Captain Hook because has a disability but likes to do villainous things, and that could be considered by some to be discriminatory.”

This is not a satire piece, by the way.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Growing Impotence of Old Media on Display At WaPo and CNN+. “It is important to acknowledge that corporate, mainstream media is losing the stranglehold it once had on the information flow in this country. It may not be happening as quickly as we’d like but it is happening.”

HMM: Russia Decides to Blame NATO for Sinking the Moskva. “It appears that the evolving Russian propaganda response to this catastrophe is not to deny that it happened, but to deny that it happened in the way it is described: The Ukrainians didn’t sink the Moskva; NATO sank the Moskva using Ukrainian proxies. As one Russian commentator put it, the Russian yellow press started disseminating the story that ‘the attack on the cruiser Moskva was a carefully planned joint action of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Western countries. In addition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military specialists from Britain, Canada and Australia took part in it.'”

That’s a non-trivial escalation of Moscow’s anti-Western propaganda effort.

HE FIGHTS: DeSantis Takes the Fight Directly to Disney. “On Tuesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that he is calling on the state legislature to consider legislation in a special session to end the Walt Disney Company’s special protections after the company committed to opposing the recently signed Parental Rights in Education Act.”

DeSantis moves quickly, too — last week this was barely even a trial balloon.

THE TRAGIC KINGDOM: Disney made itself an arm of the Democratic Party on a losing issue. “The GOP isn’t picking fights with corporations and painting them as fringe extremists. Those corporations are backing fringe, extremist ideas when they back Kaepernick’s anti-police screeds or the Democratic Party’s support for medical transitions for children.”

WELL, GOOD: The White House Surrenders on Mask Mandate for Public Transportation.

Actually, I’m not certain the White House surrendered. More likely they were looking for an off-ramp for a deeply unpopular policy, and now they have the bonus of a Trump-appointed judge to take the heat from the Dems’ COVID-panic base.

ANOTHER SELF-INFLICTED SUPPLY-CHAIN WOUND: The Biden Administration Ignores Trucking Industry Recommendations for a New Driver Training Program. “The Biden administration believes that it must charge these young kids even more money and bureaucratic hoops before they can get out on the road to help relieve the supply chain crisis that’s affecting all Americans.”

Sure would be nice if we had a Secretary of Transportation who was on the job of seeing to our transportation issues.

Matt Margolis: The Media Is Now Defending Biden in The Worst Possible Way. “It appears the new strategy the media is taking is to claim that all the problems that Americans are lashing out at Biden over are simply issues out of his control.”

Megan Fox: Greetings From the Land of Swine Flu, Where No One Cares if You Live or Die (Because It’s Flu and We Don’t Care About That Anymore). “It wasn’t COVID. I used multiple tests to find out. And then I realized, I’ve had this terrible joint and leg pain before with a scarily high fever and violent coughing. This is swine flu. It is the most violent and painful flu I’ve ever had. This round didn’t disappoint. It was as bad if not worse than I remembered. I know what you’re thinking: ‘You should have gotten a flu shot!’ Except the CDC admitted its shot was only 16% effective this year.”

Yours Truly: Only 13 States Have Recovered From the Lockdown (Guess What 12 of Them Have in Common). “Colorado is an interesting exception to the GOP recovery rule.”

I HAD BEEN ASSURED THAT BLOCKCHAIN MADE THIS KIND OF THING IMPOSSIBLE: ‘We Are F*****’: Crypto Stablecoin Collapses After $182M Hack. “On Sunday, cybersecurity firm PeckShield reported the attack on Beanstalk Farms, saying hackers stole more than $80 million for themselves, but the protocol’s losses appeared to be even higher. The company later said its initial analysis showed the losses amounted to around $182 million.”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Anti-Science, Emotional Weakling Mask Fetishists Had a Rough Monday. “It’s a kink with these emotional cripples. They crave being controlled by the government. It’s a turn-on for them. The thought of being left to their own devices terrifies their submissive, masochistic psyches.”
