JULIE BURCHILL: JK Rowling and the Cass report reckoning.

Boyish girls, climb the nearest tree and give a Tarzan whoop of victory – girly boys, fashion a floral crown and caper copiously. Thanks to the Cass Report, failing to follow sexist stereotypes (which decree that girls play with dolls and boys play with themselves) will no longer get you marched off to the sex-correction clinic. You’ll no longer be stuffed like a five-bird roast with the best that Big Pharma can tout and later shuttled off to the abattoir to have your perfectly healthy sexual organs hacked off. For the Great Trans Con has been bust as wide open as the space between India Willoughby’s ears.

Was ever a ‘liberation’ movement ever so risible from the start? Did any other allegedly oppressed group’s bid for equality include seeking to rob another oppressed group of their rights? Did any other oppressed group claim their freedom by dressing up as another oppressed group? And, crucially, did any allegedly oppressed group ever carry out such a comprehensive and conclusive capture of the most conservative and capitalist corporations and institutions? No, they didn’t – because previously, oppressed groups weren’t mostly composed of white middle-class men, as the trans-lobby are.

Like the Mitchell and Webb Nazis, the signs that the trans-mob weren’t the good guys – though they were definitely guys – were there all along. The threats of violence, rape and death while calling women who sought to preserve women’s spaces the hateful ones. The snitching to the police – such rebels! – who reacted true to form by siding with the blokes and arresting women for being impolite to men, joined by the judges who made raped women call their attackers ‘she’ out of ‘respect’. They stand revealed as a bunch of liars, fantasists and bullies, the whole rotten lot of them.

Exit question: Why is the trans lobby so allergic to debate?

NPR’S NEW CEO GETS EMBARRASSINGLY EXPOSED AMID EDITOR BLOWING THE WHISTLE ON THE OUTLET:

It hasn’t been a good week for NPR. The once somewhat respected “news outlet” was taken to task by one of its current editors for its systemic bias and eagerness to censor stories on behalf of the far left.

Uri Berliner detailed in his write-up how NPR has suppressed and skewed stories, including those involving the Hunter Biden laptop, COVID-19 origins, and the Russian collusion hoax. At the center of the outlet’s dramatic shift from generic left-wing bias to full-on rabid activism was an aggressive DEI push spawned by the George Floyd riots.

NPR forcefully defended its obsession with “diversity” in a response to Berliner, claiming that it allows more nuanced and varied views of the news. In reality, it has turned the outlet into an echo chamber of like-minded radicals because as I explained in my piece on the matter, DEI is self-selective. Those hired as a result of it inevitably support it and the far-left ideology that backstops it.

Which brings me to NPR’s new CEO, Katherine Maher. She’s now facing backlash for several posts she made relating to the aforementioned George Floyd riots.

Oh, I don’t know — her evenhandedness is impeccable. There can be no question of bias or putting her thumb on the scale of slanted coverage. She would never even announce who she supports in presidential elections, except of course when she does just that:

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: American Anti-War Activists Cheer for Iran’s War.

CHICAGO — About 300 anti-war activists crowded into the basement of the Teamsters Union’s headquarters on Saturday to hear organizers from all over the country describe their plans to disrupt the Democratic National Convention this August. Joe Biden’s backing of Israel since Hamas’s October 7 attack has turned these left-wing radicals against their own party.

“It’s really inspiring to see that people are just as enthusiastic, and maybe even more enthusiastic, to march on the DNC as they are to march on the RNC,” says Omar Florez, a Milwaukee-based activist. “We can thank Genocide Joe and our movement for that.”

But then a man stumbles to the podium, wiping sweat from his forehead. He grabs the microphone to announce that the Islamic regime of Iran has launched missiles and drones heading straight toward Israel.

“They believe that they will be in Palestinian—I don’t call it Israeli—airspace between two and four a.m., which means about two to four hours from now,” he says. “In addition, there are reports of drones having been fired on Israel from Yemen and Iraq.”

You know who must have been awfully disappointed that Israel was able to reportedly defend against 99 percent of Iran’s drone and missile fire last night?

But then, given its use of technology originally created for what the DNC-MSM derided as “Reagan’s Star Wars program” in the 1980s, she likely wasn’t alone: Then-Sen. Joe Biden “was a fierce opponent of Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative. Mr. Biden voted against funding SDI, saying, ‘The president’s continued adherence to [SDI] constitutes one of the most reckless and irresponsible acts in the history of modern statecraft.’”

Flashforward to last night: ‘You got a win. Take the win’: Joe Biden tells Netanyahu.

Joe Biden reportedly warned Benjamin Netanyahu that the US will not participate in any Israeli counter-attacks against Iran.

The US president and his senior advisers are highly concerned that an Israeli response to Iran’s attack would lead to a regional war with catastrophic consequences, US officials told Axios.

On Saturday evening, Iran launched its first-ever direct attack on Israel, involving more than 300 drones and missiles. The attack came in retaliation to an airstrike in Syria on April 1 that killed seven of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – Israel has neither confirmed nor denied responsibility.

Mr Biden said the US and Israel had shot down “nearly all” of the drones and missiles launched by Tehran overnight, aided also by Britain, France and Jordan. Israel said 99 per cent were intercepted without hitting their targets and that “very little damage” had been caused.

American forces intercepted 70 drones and at least three ballistic missiles, according to CNN, while Mr Biden also said that US support for Israel was “ironclad”.

“You got a win. Take the win,” Mr Biden reportedly told Mr Netanyahu, adding that the US will not participate in any offensive operations. Mr Netanyahu reportedly said that he understands the US’s position.

To be fair, it’s understandable, this is one of those rare instances where Joe hates seeing American taxpayer’s dollars being wasted:

“DEMOCRACY…I do not think it means what you think it means”:

Google (“Don’t be Evil”) shut down access to The Daily Caller‘s outstanding documentary “Rigged” that dares to ask reasonable and fair questions about the electoral process.

But it seems merely raising fair questions is in itself too much liberty. According The Daily Caller, “Google shut down our ads promoting our documentary about election fraud because they could “undermine trust in [the] democratic process.”

So blind obedience is the way to go, right? Anything else is…disinformation or worse, treason?

THE DEEP MEANING OF “DON’T:”

Would that President Biden had not warned the Iranian regime not to attack Israel with his pitiful “don’t” yesterday. In Bidenspeak, “don’t” is an invitation. It something like the shout-out for contestants to “come on down” on The Price Is Right.

QED:

UPDATE: Once again, more “Don’t-ing” from Biden: POTATUS Tells Israel to Suck It Up, Don’t Smack Iran Back.

Curiously though, the Biden (read: Obama) administration apparently wasn’t actually saying “Don’t” to Iran: “Iran informed Turkey in advance of its planned operation against Israel, a Turkish diplomatic source told Reuters on Sunday, adding that Washington had conveyed to Tehran via Ankara that any action it took had to be ‘within certain limits.’”

In his latest G-File, Jonah Goldberg wrote:

[W]hen Stalin allowed the film version of the Grapes of Wrath—retitled The Road to Wrath—to be seen in the Soviet Union because it was a searing indictment of the failures of capitalism. Soviet citizens saw it and were like, “Holy crap! The peasants all have cars and pickup trucks in America? Man, we’re poor.” Stalin quickly yanked it from theaters.

Because nothing changes in the world of “Progressivism,” even among “Progressives in a hurry,” in 2012, Karol Markowicz wrote:

In 1977, the year I was born and the year my father, his mother, his aunt and many other Jews left the Soviet Union (my mother and I left in 1978), the Soviet propaganda machine began circulating a rumor. It went, roughly: life in America is so terrible that the old people eat cat food.

This was…perplexing.

People didn’t quite get it: they have food specifically made for cats in America? What a country!

A lot of things about America remained beyond their comprehension.

To be fair, to this day, there is much the European mind cannot comprehend about America.
