ALL THE QUESTIONS FOR JACKSON: That won’t be asked even though they should be asked but can’t be asked because Democrats will not permit them to be asked even though they asked them of previous GOP nominees. More essential reading from Issues & Insights.

BIDEN-ERA “JUSTICE:” Man Told by an Officer That He Could Enter the Capitol on Jan. 6 Now Faces 20 Years in Prison.

If Knowlton’s contention that a police officer said he could go in is true, it vitiates all these charges, and Knowlton’s claim is certainly corroborated by photographic and video evidence of cops at the Capitol opening gates, holding the doors open for protestors, and reports that police even posed for selfies with protestors. Also, when the FBI raided Knowlton’s home, they found no evidence whatsoever “concerning the breach and unlawful entry” of the Capitol, or “of any conspiracy, planning, or preparation,” or “maps or diagrams” of the Capitol, or of any “materials, devices, or tools” that Knowlton might have planned to use to get inside.

So why is the government pursuing Knowlton with such ferocity? The answer to that is clear: he is being set up to be a fall guy, to validate the Left’s hysterical and counterfactual claims about Jan. 6 by being made to play the role of the “insurrectionist” who was determined to destroy “our democracy” and install Trump as a dictator.

Imagine a country that imprisons peaceful protestors on false charges of participating in an attempt to overthrow the government, as part of efforts to discredit and ultimately criminalize all opposition to the ruling party’s agenda.

I don’t have to imagine it. We have political prisoners in America now, and the authorities don’t even mind if you know it, since they want to discourage deplorables from engaging in the kind of protests that are tolerated, and even encouraged, among the establishment’s client groups.

WHAT ARE DEMS HIDING IN JACKSON CONFIRMATION? For reasons that remain unexplained, officials at the U.S. Sentencing Commission, where Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson formerly served as Vice-Chairman, are withholding key documents about her tenure.

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, isn’t happy that his request for those docs has been denied. Grassley tried to enlist panel chairman, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), to help. No deal, which may have surprised Grassley since he and Durbin just last week during Sunshine Week co-sponsored a bill to require televised Supreme Court proceedings.

WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING? Federal judges have already begun to drift away from hiring Yale Law clerks.

On the heels of the latest controversy at Yale Law School, which David Lat ably describes over at Original Jurisdiction, a federal judge penned an email to fellow judges: “The latest events at Yale Law School, in which students attempted to shout down speakers participating in a panel discussion on free speech, prompt me to suggest that students who are identified as those willing to disrupt any such panel discussion should be noted. All federal judges—and all federal judges are presumably committed to free speech—should carefully consider whether any student so identified should be disqualified from potential clerkships.”

The truth is, Yale Law has already seen falling clerkship placement numbers in recent years. Incidents like this may harden some judges’ opposition. . . .

A few items stand out. Yale would typically place between 25% and 35% of its class into federal clerkships. Its number is low in 2020, but not the lowest in this time period. A couple of times, Stanford has placed a higher percentage of clerks than Yale.

But noteworthy is Chicago’s climb, from 10% of the class in 2013 to a whopping 27.6% in 2020, for the first time in recent memory besting Yale.

The school looks terrible based on recent incidents. I see some legal academics trying to minimize things, but saner heads know better.

I ACCIDENTALLY WROTE A BUNCH OF PSEUDO FAIRY TALES:  Odd Magics: Tales for the Lost.  #CommissionEarned

And the collection is on pre-order.

“Accidentally?” you say.  “How in heck does one accidentally write pseudo-fairy tales?”

Well, I certainly didn’t do it on purpose. I mean, modern-day-fairy-tales is the domain of the uber woke and silly. And I’m often silly but not woke.

Okay, how it happened was like this. I had this space suit.  No, wait, that’s the beginning of Heinlein’s Have Spacesuit Will Travel.

So, how it actually happened was like this: I’m a massive depressive, and was having serious health issues. I wanted to keep my blog at least semi-regularly updated. But some days the last thing I wanted to think about was reality.  So it started with The Rain of Frog, a story in which a woman sees a single gigantic frog dropping in front of her house…  And then it continued through a middle aged woman deciding to give her husband his seal skin back.  And– well.
My blog readers have asked for years that I release them as a collection, but things got in the way and I wondered if it was really worth it.  Then I re-read them.  They’re goofy, maybe a little pat, but holy heck, they’re uplifting.
So, I made time.  I haven’t pushed the button on print release, because I can’t figure out how to schedule it, but it’s ready to go.

I HAD BEEN RELIABLY ASSURED IN THE MSM THAT THIS WAS THE CLEANEST ELECTION EVAH!  Georgia ballot harvesting probe advances as state elections board approves subpoena.

It’s almost like the MSM is non objective and partisan.

From the article:

The Georgia Elections Board has approved a subpoena to secure evidence and testimony in an ongoing investigation into whether third-party liberal activists illegally gathered thousands of absentee ballots in the 2020 general election and a subsequent runoff that determined Democrat control of the U.S. Senate.

And:

Officials said the new subpoena powers will be used by Raffensperger’s office to secure evidence from the election integrity group True the Vote, which filed a complaint in November saying it had acquired videotapes, a whistleblower’s admission and cell phone location records showing what appeared to be a widespread ballot harvesting operation in the November 2020 general election and January 2021 election runoff.

The group’s complaint said surveillance camera footage showed ballot traffickers delivering stacks of ballots to drop boxes between midnight and 5 a.m. and cell phone records showed as many as 240 activists made such deliveries.

And:

“John Doe described a network of non-governmental organizations that worked together to facilitate a ballot trafficking scheme in Georgia,” True the Vote wrote in its complaint. “John Doe claimed to have been one of many individuals paid to collect and deliver absentee ballots during the early voting periods of the November 2020 General Election and the January 2021 Runoff Election.”

I’m gonna need my shocked face!

NOT ENOUGH WOMEN GIVING BIRTH TO SNAKES, TEH GRAUNIAD’S ARGUMENTS ARE INVALID:   Guardian: Nine Cattle Killed in One Strike Proves Climate Change.

To be fair, you don’t actually need any signs and portents to indicate anything at The Guardian is bs. If it’s in the Guardian, there’s a higher than average chance the opposite is true.

DOES DISNEY SUPPORT GROOMING?   Disney to hold staff ‘town hall’ meeting over ‘Don’t Say Gay’ controversy.

For perspective: they’re losing their minds over teachers being forbidden from discussing sex with kids third grade and under.  Think about this for a moment. Just a moment. Try not to reach for the pitchfork. Then cut off any of your money going to Disney.

HOLDING AID TO UKRAINE HOSTAGE TO PORK, THE DEMOCRAT WAY!  Turning Ukraine aid into partisan trap.

Create the crisis then exploit it. Same old, same old.

SERIOUSLY? Media freakout as South Korea elects first anti-feminist president.

They’re letting men destroy women’s sports and allowing men in (unconvincing) fright wigs to be declared “best woman” of this or that, but this is what they freak out about?

These are not serious people.

FREE SPEECH, EVEN WHEN BLANDLY DEFENDED, IS A HUGE THREAT to those who are no longer our countrymen.

Also, Jeff Jarvis? Sad.
