WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE? TO CRUSH YOUR ENEMIES, SEE THEM DRIVEN BEFORE YOU, AND TO HEAR THE LAMENTATIONS OF THE KARENS: Dem Strategist Admits Her Party ‘Did Not Listen to Voters’ and Will Lose Midterms. “Hilary Rosen, a longtime Democratic strategist, predicted on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ that her party will have a bad night on Tuesday because they did not listen to voters.”

BIG HIKES IN HILL STAFF PAY: New analysis comparing salaries paid specific congressional staff positions in September 2022 with September 2021 shows an overall increase of 23 percent, according to new report from the House Chief Administrative Officer.
KATIE PAVLICH: New Data Wipes Out Democrat Narratives on Crime.
After ignoring crime as an issue negatively impacting voters ahead of the midterm elections next week, prominent Democrats have repeatedly made the claim that red states have higher crime rates than blue states.
…
The data in is and it debunks the desperate narrative as Democrats scramble on how to address the issue.New analysis from the Heritage Foundation shows the vast majority of cities where crime is raging, and driving up rates in red and blue states, are overwhelmingly run by Democrats.
“While a state’s murder rate is perhaps politically interesting, a more accurate reflection of what is actually happening on the ground is gained by reviewing localized murder rates, such as murder rates in a city or county. What does this review show?” the analysis found. “Not surprisingly, of those 30 cities, 27 have Democratic mayors, the exceptions being Lexington and Jacksonville, which have Republican mayors, and Las Vegas, whose mayor is an Independent. And within those 30 cities there are at least 14 Soros-backed or Soros-inspired rogue prosecutors.”
It only takes one Democrat-dominated, badly run (but I repeat myself) urban center to ruin the crime stats for an otherwise low-crime state with a Republican governor.
WE’RE ON THE LEFT, WE SHOULDN’T FACE CONSEQUENCES! U. Pennsylvania climate protesters upset at discipline for football game protest. “Following the demonstration, Penn spokesperson Ron Ozio said that FFP’s antics ‘do nothing to advance their legitimate policy concerns, concerns the University shares, but rather impinges upon the rights of others in the community to participate in the life of the campus.'”
I’m sensing a new mood about this stuff.

WHY IS HIGHER EDUCATION SUCH A CESSPIT OF HATE AND VIOLENCE? Club president, daughter of communism victim speaks about vandalized display.
Campus Reform spoke with Georgetown University (GU) senior and Network for Enlightened Women (NeW) chapter president Jessica Costescu, whose anti-communist display was vandalized on Monday.
Costescu’s NeW chapter set up 1,000 red flags and six posters on the Washington, DC, campus to commemorate Victims of Communism National Memorial Day, which is observed on Nov. 7. Costescu discovered earlier today that all six posters were spray painted with the red communist hammer and sickle symbol.
Two of the displays had read, “Communism Has No Home Here” and “China: 65 million victims, USSR: 20 million victims.”
Costescu, whose father fled communism in Soviet-era Romania, is a Leadership Institute Campus Ambassador.
And why are students such enthusiasts for totalitarianism? It suggests that higher ed isn’t living up to its purported justification of improving tolerance and good citizenship.
SEGREGATION NOW, SEGREGATION TOMORROW, SEGREGATION FOREVER! Scripps College pool party desegregated, then postponed.
After the Independent reported that event organizers segregated Friday’s pool party at Scripps College, barring white students from attending, the organizers changed their event’s description to allow all students regardless of race at the Claremont Colleges—a consortium consisting of Scripps College, Pomona College, Harvey Mudd College, Claremont McKenna College, and Pitzer College—to attend the pool party hosted at the college’s Sallie Tiernan Field House.
In a previous version of the Facebook event description, the organizers made it clear that the pool party was open only to students who identified as persons of color (POC):
“This event is only to 5C [Claremont Colleges] students identifying as POC.”
However, after the Independent’s article about the POC-only event reached a national audience, the organizers changed their event’s description to be more inclusive, and allow all students, including those who identify as white, to attend the pool party. The current version of Facebook event description states that the pool part “is open to all 5C [Claremont Colleges] students.”
Unlike the old event description, the new description, which does not bar white students from attending, avoids violating national civil rights legislation such as Title VI, and Scripps’s own anti-discrimination policy. Title VI prevents education institutions receiving federal funds—which includes nearly all private colleges including Scripps—from “discriminating when it comes to race, color, and national origin.” Recreational facilities at education institutions such as Sallie Tiernan House Pool must also abide by this law. . . .
The pool party has now been postponed. Scripps College President Lara Tiedens sent out the following email to students this afternoon:
“The pool party has been postponed due to concerns about student safety in the wake of numerous phone calls and emails from the public expressing hostility and threatening physical violence.”
In 1963, as part of “massive resistance” to desegregation, the city of Jackson, Mississippi closed its public pools rather than racially integrate them. It too, used worries about “violence” as an excuse.
Facebook parent company Meta Platforms Inc forecast a weak holiday quarter and significantly more costs next year wiping about $67 billion off Meta’s stock market value, adding to the more than half a trillion dollars in value already lost this year.
The disappointing outlook comes as Meta is contending with slowing global economic growth, competition from TikTok, privacy changes from Apple, concerns about massive spending on the metaverse and the ever-present threat of regulation.
Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has said he expects the metaverse investments to take about a decade to bear fruit.
He’s also said Meta plans to spend $10 billion a year developing their metaverse, which as Glenn noted last week, looks like warmed-over Second Life.

ELECTION ADVICE FROM STACY MCCAIN: “Probably the smartest thing to do on election night would be to take a nap early in the evening — when the chatter on TV will be mostly speculation — and set your alarm for 11 p.m. or midnight, by which time 90 percent or more of the precincts will have reported in most Eastern states. The earliest tip-off to which way the night is heading will be the Senate race in New Hampshire. If Bolduc can score an upset there, it would portend a massive ‘Red Wave,’ in which Republicans win 240-plus House seats and 52 or more Senate seats. If, on the other hand, Hassan manages to hang on in New Hampshire, the GOP will likely win between 225 and 235 House seats and fall a couple seats short of a Senate majority.”
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Dems Are So Desperate They Brought Biden Out for Final Push. “I usually avoid the news on the weekend but there is none of that when heading into an election week. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen such a big ‘chicken with their heads cut off’ vibe from the Democrats’ flying monkeys in the mainstream media before an election. For the record, I’ve been through a LOT of elections.”
HE CAN’T STAND THE COMPETITION: Biden says Twitter spews lies across the world. “There’s no editors anymore in America. There’s no editors. How do we expect kids to be able to understand what is at stake?”
What Biden meant — to the extent that he might understand what he said — is that there’s one less Democrat gatekeeper.
NOVEMBER 8 THOUGHTS FROM JULES CRITTENDEN:
Hey, Stacy Abrams is already on board: Abrams: Blame Voter Suppression And Misinformation If I Lose. “Democrats including Stacey Abrams now have their narrative set. And it has nothing to do with their horrible choices on messaging such as abortion, woke politics, baseball, taxes, jobs, and more. Nope, it can’t be. It’s just misinformed voters and voter suppression. That’s it. That’s the ticket …to lose.”
ANALYSIS: TRUE. Alibi Biden Didn’t Inherit a Bad Economy, He Created One.
