WELL, ANYONE WHO’D MARRY VINDMAN HAS TO BE CRAZY: Alexander Vindman’s Wife Delivers a Psychotic Statement for the Ages.
Where do you start in responding to something like that? I suppose one could zero in on how sick it is to bring Rep. Elise Stefanik’s newborn baby into a petty political fight. I don’t care how much you disagree with someone, leave their kids alone. Rachel Vindman deciding to use a baby (that isn’t hers, mind you) as a political prop for her ridiculous rant is psychotic behavior. Have some boundaries, for cripes sake.
Then there’s the idea that Stefanik has “blood” on her hands regarding people dying in Ukraine. What exactly is the basis for that claim? That because the congresswoman didn’t vote to impeach Donald Trump, that caused the current war we are seeing? That makes no sense whatsoever. After eight years of Barack Obama and Joe Biden sending Ukraine blankets, it was Trump who sent lethal aid to the vulnerable nation.
How would impeaching Trump improve the military readiness of Ukraine? By what evidence would it have resulted in more military aid being sent? Rachel Vindman doesn’t address those logical inconsistencies, because again, she’s obviously freaking nuts.
Well, she’s a Democrat insider.
QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE THE STATE OF THE UNION:
The nihilist Biden decision voluntarily to cancel new pipelines, federal leases, ANWAR, and leverage loss of bank financing for fracking, and to give up well over 2 million barrels of daily production will be seen not just as an economic disaster. It was a strategic catastrophe.
When Europe, or indeed the West, is dependent on Russian goodwill to drive and keep warm, it can never be free. Ending American energy independence is not just an AOC obsession. Russian hackers in January targeted our Colonial pipeline, shutting down in a day over 1 million barrels of transported oil. The more we discount the strategic consequences of having or lacking oil, the more our enemies fixate on it.
A couple of questions for Joe Biden: Before he took office, was the United States begging Russia to sell it more oil? After he took office, why was it?
Why did Biden blow-up energy dependence? Could not tomorrow Biden reverse course, greenlight the Keystone pipeline, reverse his mindless opposition to the EastMed pipeline that would help allies Cyprus, Greece, and Israel to help other allies in southern Europe, and throw open new federal leasing to supply exports of liquid natural gas to Europe?
What is moral, and what amoral: alienating Bernie Sanders and the squad or keeping our allies and ourselves safe from foreign attack? What is so ethical about following the green advice of billionaires like global jet-setter John Kerry at the expense of the middling classes who cannot afford to drive their cars or warm their living rooms?
What, indeed?
Plus: “Left unsaid are the years of rapacious Biden family profiteering in Ukraine, a decade of leftist passive-aggressive love and hate of Russia, from obsequious reset to greedy Uranium One to pathetic ‘tell Vladimir . . .’ to unhinged vetoing of sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. What a crowded road to Kyiv.”

I’M TIRED OF HEARING THIS: A recent WaPo opinion piece refers to disparate impact as “another form of discrimination.” No, no, no. Discrimination is about unequal treatment. Disparate impact is about insisting on equal outcomes. SOTU PREVIEW: You Have Nothing Left to Threaten Us With, Joe. “Our Cabbage-in-Chief has no ‘Ws’ to brag about tonight. Unlike President Trump, who was only happy to report his, and our, successes, and there were many, Biden’s first year was an ongoing series of pimp-slaps for our once-great nation. Instead of tweeting victories like his predecessor, Biden has only barked angry threats to the American people, ‘Wear a mask, stay at home, get the shots, obey me or else, serf.'”

SHOCKING NEWS FROM THE WORLD OF SCIENCE: Muscle-strengthening activities cut risk of death from some diseases, study finds. “Engaging in 30 to 60 minutes of muscle strengthening activity weekly can reduce the risk of death from heart disease, diabetes, cancer and other causes by up to 20%, an analysis published Monday by the British Journal of Sports Medicine found. This is independent of any aerobic exercise, such as walking, swimming, jogging or bike-riding, the researchers said.”
COMING TO UKRAINE: THERMOBARIC WEAPONS? “Fears have risen over the use of thermobaric weapons by Russia after the Ukrainian ambassador to the US said a vacuum bomb – another term for the weapon – had been used during the invasion. The use of such weapons, which suck in oxygen from the surrounding air to generate a high-temperature explosion, has yet to be independently confirmed, though footage from Ukraine has shown thermobaric rocket launchers on Russia’s TOS-1 vehicles. Dr Marcus Hellyer, senior analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, said while it was not clear if they had been deployed yet by Russia in Ukraine, it was only ‘a matter of time.’”

The value of the cargo has been estimated to be over $400 million.”
NO LOOK FOR VIRGINIA’S ‘SECOND LOOK’ BILL: Hans Bader reports that a committee of the Virginia state house rejected that “Second Look” proposal previously noted in this space to enable large numbers of murderers who act nice in prison while serving more than 10 years of their sentences to seek release.
Bader’s analysis is full of data points and sources that demolish the liberal argument that it’s safe to let violent offenders out of jail after they’ve serve a long stretch and abided by the rules, like these two gems:
“Supporters of the bill claimed it was safe to release criminals after 10 or 15 years in prison, falsely claiming people age out of crime by then. One backer of the bill claimed that ‘people age out of crime by their late thirty’s.’ Opponents of the bill debunked these claims, pointing to evidence that many violent criminals do not age out of crime even by their 60s, and commit violent crimes even after being incarcerated for many years.
“They cited a recent federal report showing that: ‘On February 10, the U.S. Sentencing Commission released a report, ‘Recidivism of Federal Violent Offenders Released in 2010.’ Over an 8-year period, violent offenders returned to crime at a 63.8 percent rate. The median time to rearrest was 16 months for violent offenders. Most violent offenders released from prison committed more crimes. Even among those offenders over age 60, 25.1 percent of violent offenders were rearrested. That means some violent offenders don’t age out of crime even by their 60’s.’”

The real truth is that male infertility is seen as not important because it is happening to men and helping men is not allowed by the government or the academic world. The article states that resources are “readily available to cis women experiencing trouble conceiving children….”
