HMM: Vote on tentative contract with General Motors too close to call as more tallies are reported. “The union hasn’t posted final vote totals yet, but workers at several large factories who finished voting in the past few days have turned down the four year and eight month deal by fairly large margins. However a factory in Arlington, Texas, with about 5,000 workers voted more than 60% to approve the deal in tallies announced Wednesday.”

Is the ballot harvesting over, though?

HMM. I DON’T THINK I LIKE THIS: Goodbye match, hello retirement benefit account? What IBM 401(k) change means. “Under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, companies must fund 401(k) matches with real dollars. If IBM’s ‘credit’ is just that, with ‘no cash in there, and it’s just listed on the books, if something bad happens, and IBM couldn’t make good on its liabilities,’ employees would be on the hook, Hulme said.”

OPEN THREAD: Make it beautiful.
