DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE: Professor Ordered To Complete Free Speech Training After Failing Student For Using ‘Biological Woman.’

For a final project, [Adjunct instructor Melanie Nipper, 29] asked students to pick a research topic on feminism, and [Olivia] Krolczyk proposed to study women’s rights in athletics, from securing women’s place in the Olympic Games to trans-identifying men in women’s sports.

Nipper told the sophomore chemistry major, “Olivia, this is a solid proposal. However, the terms “biological women” are exclusionary and are not allowed in this course as they further reinforce heteronormativity. Please reassess your topic and edit it to focus on women’s rights (not just “females”) and I’ll regrade.”

“How am I supposed to do my project if I can’t use the term ‘biological women?’” Krolczyk questioned in her TikTok video.

The sophomore reported the incident to the school, and the university’s Gender Equality Office agreed to have a different professor grade Krolczyk’s assignment.  Krolczyk eventually finished Nipper’s class with an A.

OUT ON A LIMB: Don’t Believe the Headlines: This Court is Very ‘Normal.’

This just-completed term, overall, had far fewer 6-3 “ideological” splits than last year’s term—it just so happened that three big ones came in the term’s final two days. As the Times noted over the weekend, “This term, the court’s liberal justices were significantly more likely than last term to be in the majority in nonunanimous decisions.” Also, the two justices who were in the majority least often? That would be the Court’s two most reliable conservatives, Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

In reality, the U.S. Supreme Court as presently comprised is a slightly right-of-center institution. What makes it different from virtually any other leading national political or cultural institution is simple: It is not entirely dominated by Leftists.

Hence, the hysteria.

Including: Boston Law Students Offered Therapy After SCOTUS Rulings.

“[The assenting judges] went so far as to say that the race-based admission system uses race as a negative and operates it as a stereotype,” the letter stated. “They may couch their opinion in legal jargon, but we all know what this opinion aims to do: advocate for a ‘colorblind’ admission process.”

“However, as many of our students know and Justice Sotomayor says in her dissent, ‘ignoring race will not equalize a society that is racially unequal,’” the letter proclaimed.

“As a reminder, BU also offers a number of wellness resources that are willing and able to help students navigate these times.”

The university’s law school is not offering specialized counseling for its students, but the SGA recommended resources that are already available.

Two of the resources were BU Behavioral Medicine and BU Student Wellbeing. According to its website, BU Behavioral Medicine offers therapy, on-call service for mental health emergencies and mental health diagnoses, among other services.

I’m having a difficult time imagining that Professor Kingsfield would create safe spaces for his students.

TRUNALIMUNUMAPRZURE! We need a serious conversation about Joe Biden’s brain.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, President Biden falsely claimed that Russia is at war with Iraq. Russia is at war with Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is “clearly losing the war in Iraq,” Biden told the press pool, “losing the war at home. And he has become a bit of a pariah around the world.”

On Tuesday, during an unrelated fundraising event in Chevy Chase, Md., Biden made the exact same slip-up, mistaking Ukraine for Iraq.

“If anybody told you … that we’d be able to bring all of Europe together in the onslaught on Iraq and get NATO to be completely united,” the president said, “I think they would have told you it’s not likely.”

Although many journalists did a fine job this week highlighting the president’s apparent confusion regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, one can’t help but feel as if the news industry as a whole is avoiding the obvious follow-up question. Namely, “Is Biden OK?”

Just think of the media as Democratic Party operatives with bylines, and their silence makes perfect sense.

JOE ROGAN SLAMS ‘MENTALLY ILL’ DYLAN MULVANEY AFTER TRANS INFLUENCER SPOKE OUT ON BUD LIGHT FIASCO:

Rogan blamed pressure on corporations to adopt so-called “ESG” — environmental, social and governance standards — adding that Bud Light’s actions proved it was out of touch with “regular people.”

“Take a brand like Bud Light,” Rogan said.

“It’s for blue-collar drinking people and they like to watch football and drink Bud Light and then all of a sudden you have this mentally ill person who’s just an attention whore.”

Rogan then referred to the viral video of Kid Rock using an assault rifle to shoot cases of Bud Light.

“Once Kid Rock shoots your cans, you’ve got real problems,” Rogan said.

The Post has sought comment from Mulvaney and Anheuser-Busch.

Rogan’s latest salvo came after Mulvaney posted a video to her 1.8 million Instagram followers, saying she [sic] felt “a loneliness that I wouldn’t wish on anyone” and that Anheuser-Busch has done nothing to support her as she’s been ruthlessly dragged through the mud in the months following the failed campaign.

The next day, Anheuser-Busch pushed back against Mulvaney’s assertions.

The company said it is “committed to the programs and partnerships we have forged over decades with organizations across a number of communities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.”

Rogan also slammed Bud Light’s decision to sponsor the Toronto Pride event, calling it “silly.”

And the hits just keep on coming for Anheuser-Busch: Bud Light hit over ‘desperate’ ad with NFL star Travis Kelce: ‘Going for the death blow.’

The ad titled, “Backyard Grunts with Travis Kelce,” appears to be aimed at Bud Light’s alienated male drinkers but most of the video’s comments lambasted the brand for the latest attempt to save face.

“Man Bud Light is going for the death blow at this point,” one commenter wrote. “This is what they think of their client base, stupid grunting cavemen.”

“Hey look! ‘Fratty’ and ‘out of touch’ is back in style at Bud Light,” another wrote.

“I don’t understand how this appeals to Bud Light’s target market, transgender youth,” a third comment said.

Given all the male grunting, are we sure this ad wasn’t left over from Pride month?

DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE: Students expecting a ‘fight to the death’ to get a spot in Stanford’s new Taylor Swift class.

Stanford student Ava Jeffs is in her professor era.

The rising sophomore and lifelong “Swiftie” — a term used to describe fans of pop music icon Taylor Swift — is creating the curriculum for a new English class that examines the singer’s songwriting over the course of her career. Swift is in the middle of a record-setting global tour, dubbed “The Eras Tour,” which takes fans through a more than three-hour journey through her 10 albums.

Her latest, “Midnights” — which dropped last October and broke Spotify’s record for the most album streams in a single day — was billed by Swift as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”

“The whole goal of the class is to dive into the art of songwriting, exploring the interplay between literary references and lyricism and storytelling in Taylor Swift’s entire discography, taking it one album at a time and trying to look at the evolution of using songwriting as a narrative form,” Jeffs said. “It will draw parallels to classic works of literature and poetry in each album and gain a deeper understanding of the narrative power of music.”

The class is titled “The Last Great American Songwriter: Storytelling with Taylor Swift through the Eras,” and is a play on Swift’s song “The Last Great American Dynasty” from her eighth studio album, “Folklore.” It’s the second Swift class at Stanford after “All Too Well (Ten Week Version)” was taught earlier this year and gave students a chance to analyze the 10-minute version of the song with the same name.

According to Google, tuition and housing at Stanford can run about $78,898 — or slightly lower than scoring a pair of Taylor Swift tickets.

RIDICULE IS MAN’S MOST POTENT WEAPON: Mad Lads Hijack ‘Just Stop Oil’ Protest, Take Their Banner on Stag Party Trip to Ibiza.

And so, when brave men disrupt the JSO zombies for a change, those people must rightly be recognized as the heroes they are.

Meet Charlie Pearce, a 33-year-old builder and landscaper from Surrey, England, who is getting married in September. Ahead of the big day, he and 13 bros planned a stag party on the Spanish Island of Ibiza. They set out on Friday, dressed for adventure and towing their wheelie suitcases behind them as they walked to London’s Waterloo Station. Suddenly, they came face to face with an obnoxious JSO protest. The climate freaks were engaging in a “slow march” — an un-permitted pop-up protest designed to block traffic and infuriate as many people as possible.

Already in high spirits and dressed head-to-toe in pink and a tutu, Pearce joined right in. He stepped into the front rank of protestors, marching along behind their banner. “We love you oil, we do!” chanted Pearce, pumping a fist as his buddies joined in. The JSO marchers remained silent and plodded forward like good little brain-dead automatons. Then the groom-to-be grabbed the banner in both hands and ran off with it.

I question the dress code, but otherwise, this is the way:

KAMALA… THEY ARE COMING FOR YOU: “The powers in the Democratic Party can no more gamble on Kamala than on Joe. If either is on the ticket, more than the White House is at stake. Republicans would expand, not lose, their House majority. And Democrats would certainly lose their precarious hold on the Senate. Their best hope is an election that again is a referendum on Donald Trump; but regardless of who the Republican nominee is, not a referendum on Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. Kamala must go before Joe does, certainly before Joe announces he won’t run. One way or another — Kamala, they’re coming for you, and then Joe.”

JEN PSAKI CLAIMS GOP IS ‘TRYING TO RECRUIT MUSLIM-AMERICANS’ AGAINST TRANSGENDER PEOPLE:

Jen Psaki claimed the Republican Party is returning to an old strategy of pitting minority groups against one another.

“I’ve been noticing the reemergence of a very old GOP playbook,” Psaki said, suggesting former President Richard Nixon encouraged the fear of black people in order to draw the votes of white people. “And it worked by pitting one group of Americans against another, the GOP successfully managed to split off southern whites from the Democratic Party.”

There was no “Southern Strategy,” and Nixon was so racist, he was cutting civil rights ads in 1960:

In any case:

UPDATE (FROM GLENN): Wait, those dastardly GOP-ers haven’t let up: NPR: Whites fooled Asians into believing affirmative action hurt them. This is obviously just consolation-propaganda aimed at the very dumbest part of the Democrats’ base — which, to be fair, is in fact the core of the Democrats’ base.

MARK JUDGE: From Saturday Night Fever to No Hard Feelings, how the American male in movies became impotent.

Films like Saturday Night Fever and No Hard Feelings dive into the energy of the lover archetype, yet both are representative of their times — in the case of No Hard Feelings, sadly so. In the archetype Moore and Gillette celebrate, the lover is expansive and poetical. “Nothing is out of bounds for him.” Men in 2023 are boxed in by overprotective parents, the addiction to pornography, and humorless women made brittle by feminism. Today it’s difficult to avoid the negative side of the lover archetype, the “addicted lover,” who is obsessively stopping every 3 feet to smell the roses to the point where the rest of life is ignored.

When Percy does finally have a sexual encounter with Maddie — well sort of — it has none of the spiritual power and grace of the dance scene in Saturday Night Live. It’s crude, off-screen, and over quickly. Percy can barely hold a joystick, much less dominate a dance floor. From Tony and Stephanie in the 70s to Percy and Maddie in 2023, it’s been a long and painful devolution.

THIS NEW MICHIGAN ‘HATE CRIME’ BILL IS RIPE FOR ABUSE: “According to the law, ‘A person is guilty of a hate crime if that person maliciously … and intentionally does any of the following to an individual based in whole or in part on [a protected characteristic] … intimidates another individual.’ (Emphasis added.) That’s right: Intimidating another individual can land you up to two years in jail, a felony on your record, and a $5,000 fine. What does ‘intimidating’ mean under this law?”
