These remarks echo the Left’s ideological talking points on “white privilege” and reveal a disdain for others based on their skin color. This hatred of white people echoes the Marxist claim that America is institutionally racist, so justice demands stripping whites of their “privilege” and elevating racial minorities rather than securing a level playing field for all races.

Other statements reveal the shooter’s emotional state—a steely determination despite strong anxiety.

“Can’t believe I’m doing this, but I’m ready … I hope my victims aren’t,” she wrote. “God let my wrath take over my anxiety.”

Given the headlines since October 7^th, why are our schools churning out armies of angry racist and anti-Semitic kids these days?

Blinken’s silence during his visits to Ramallah suggests his rhetoric about Pisar is cynical, meant only for gullible Americans.

Abbas, after all, wrote a doctoral dissertation arguing that Zionists supported the Holocaust. Over subsequent years, he downplayed and denied the Holocaust. In September, he speculated that Hitler targeted the Jews not from antisemitism, but because they were moneylenders. With a 40-year track record of Holocaust denial and diminishment, is there any question that Abbas promotes antisemitism? If so, how does funding him send a message about being “resolute in the fight against anti-Semitism”?

The Associated Press, the country’s top wire service, is now bankrolled in part by millions of dollars from left-wing foundations, including one founded by “1619 Project” author Nikole Hannah-Jones.

The news organization last year announced a series of “partnerships” to subsidize reporters covering climate change, race, and democracy. A review of the donor roster shows that the vast majority fund left-wing political causes, while none are supporters of conservative initiatives.

The Ida B. Wells Society, founded by “1619 Project” lightning rod Hannah-Jones, has teamed up with filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s Hearthland Foundation, for example, to foster “more inclusive storytelling” at the Associated Press.

In some ways, it was a natural partnership: The AP’s global investigations editor, Ron Nixon, serves on the Ida B. Wells Society’s board of directors. In others, it may prove more problematic, given that Hannah-Jones’s own reporting has been disputed by historians, who have argued—among other things—that her account of the motivations of the American revolutionaries is factually inaccurate.

The funding, much of it from these sorts of overly political actors, will make it more challenging for the Associated Press to swat away accusations of political bias. In one high-profile example, critics blasted the organization for revising its style guide to instruct reporters to avoid the use of terms like “the French,” which the AP indicated was “dehumanizing.”

AllSides, a group that tracks media bias across the industry, last year changed its rating for the AP from “center” to “leans left,” citing what it said was an increase in “word choice bias” and “bias by omission of views” in its coverage. AllSides says it closely monitors the Associated Press’s content because the AP’s content is “broad and far-reaching.”

Just think of AP as Democratic Party operatives with bylines, and it all makes sense.

Washington Post columnist Taylor Lorenz accused Mr. Beast of having “received extremely light criticism in the past for the way you’ve monetized ‘kindness’ content that some vulnerable people found to be exploitative.”

There are two main “arguments” here, although that might be giving them too much credit.

The first is that Africa doesn’t need charity. While there is certainly a broader, nuanced conversation to be had about the systemic problems holding back progress in Africa and whether some forms of Western charity are counterproductive, it’s still just generally untrue as a matter of objective facts and statistics to claim that it doesn’t have a poverty problem.

Yet it’s also obviously untrue in the specific situations Mr. Beast was involved in — because many of the places he built these wells did not previously have clean drinking water. If he were doing something unnecessary, the actual beneficiaries wouldn’t have been so incredibly grateful.

In the same vein, if Mr. Beast’s actions “shamed the Kenyan government,” that’s actually a good thing. Kenya’s government is quite corrupt, and if so many of its people don’t have access to clean drinking water, it’s not doing its most basic job.

All joking aside, this is one of the upsides to robotic technology in police work. It doesn’t have to look like Robocop. The LAPD used the technology to go into a situation where an officer might have found themself in a shootout and defused the situation and took the suspect into custody safely. And if the guy had wound up shooting holes in SPOT, they would have been out $278,000 (which was donated to them anyway), but that would still be better than a dead officer. Congratulations to all involved. Just let us know before you start installing the AI systems so we can move out of town.

Buzbee forwarded an email that Shipley had sent opinions staff in which he said he had personally “taken down” the cartoon. Shipley included the full text of an editor’s note in which he publicly expressed “regret” that he had “missed something profound, and divisive” in publishing the image.

“A cartoon published by Michael Ramirez on the war in Gaza, a cartoon whose publication I approved, was seen by many readers as racist. This was not my intent. I saw the drawing as a caricature of a specific individual, the Hamas spokesperson, who celebrated the attacks on unarmed civilians in Israel,” Shipley wrote.

The cartoon depicted an individual, labeled “Hamas,” with children, a baby, and a woman strapped to his body. “How dare Israel attack civilians…,” the man said in a speech bubble.

Like the hostage posters anti-Semites are pulling down in major cities in the US and Europe, WaPo staffers don’t want to be reminded of what they actually support. Which is odd for a paper who’s slogan is “Democracy dies in darkness.”

“As of this week we are making the very, very difficult decision to suspend publication of Jezebel,” G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller wrote Thursday. “ Few decisions over the course of my career have been as excruciating, and I want to make clear this is in NO WAY a reflection on the Jezebel editorial team.”

The shutdown is part of a greater restructuring effort by the media company. Jezebel’s shuttering will leave 23 editorial staffers without a job.

The closure comes during an atmosphere of general belt-tightening in journalism and media.

Meanwhile, a part-signature matching the writing in the album suggests the photographer is Ernest Howard Farmer (1856-1944), the first head of the school of photography at the then newly renamed Regent Street Polytechnic, now part of the University of Westminster.

For evidence of this, we can go all the way back to 2018, when the current Republican losing streak started. At that time, Trump was wildly popular with his base but deeply unpopular everywhere else. The midterm losses were not historically large, and perhaps even somewhat limited given the Russia-collusion hysteria whipped up by the Democrats.

But the losses continued in 2019 elections, including in Kentucky where a Trump ally contended for the governor’s office. They continued in 2020, resulting in the loss of Senate control as well as the presidency, although Trump’s allies insisted the elections were illegitimate. All of that took place before the Supreme Court even agreed to hear the Dobbs case and reverse Roe and Casey.

The specter of Dobbs and abortion clearly overshadowed the 2022 midterms, but then again, so did the specter of Trump and the January 6 riot. Trump-endorsed candidates that campaigned on the 2020 election lost winnable Senate races. If it hadn’t been for a revolt against Bidenomics in New York, of all states, Republicans would have fallen short of control of the House in 2022’s midterms as well. The only place where a midterm red wave materialized was in Florida, even with DeSantis backing a heartbeat-based abortion bill.

And now we have last night’s results to add to the list of disappointments. Given the turmoil within the Democrat Party, this might be the most surprising of them yet. Abortion certainly contributed to their unity of purpose yesterday, but so did their use of Trump and the “ultra-MAGA” betes noires they used effectively in 2020, 2022, and will certainly exploit in 2024 if given the chance. Even with polls that say Biden’s losing to Trump, which raises big question about just how predictive those polls will be, those attacks were very effective. Biden’s voters came home with a vengeance last night.

Former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the wreckage from another Trump presidency would be “almost unimaginable” and likened the former president who beat her in the 2016 election to Adolf Hitler.

In an interview on ABC’s “The View,” Clinton said when she was secretary of State, she saw people who would “get legitimately elected” and then would try “to do away with elections and do away with opposition.”

“You could see it in countries where, well, Hitler was duly elected, right?” Clinton said. “And so all of a sudden somebody with those tendencies, so dictatorial authoritarian tendencies, would be like, OK, we’re going to shut this down.”

“Trump is telling us what he intends to do,” Clinton continued. “Take him at his word.

THAT’S A SHAME: Disney Executives Reportedly “Butthurt” Over South Park: Joining The Panderverse Special.

South Park: Joining the Panderverse released on Paramount+ at the end of October and took a number of shots at The Walt Disney Company and heavily lampooned Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

The episode also turned Kennedy into a meme mocking her vision as a producer by repeating the same tired and failed formula. Specifically, Eric Cartman as Kathleen Kennedy informs the Disney board how to make their movies, “Put a chick in it. Make her lame and gay.”

Following the release of the episode, Midnight’s Edge reported on rumors they heard about what the reactions at Disney were like.

The channel’s founder Andre Einherjar states, “What we have heard is that the powers in Disney and Lucasfilm like everyone else knew the episode was coming and they knew it was going to have a go at them, but they didn’t know in advance in exactly which way.”

“And what they saw, allegedly went beyond anything they ever imagined than even their worst of nightmares,” he continued.

Next, Einherjar shared, “The behind-the-scenes response then at Disney was a mix of shock, embarrassment, feelings of betrayal, and overall butthurt.”

“There apparently were some lines of communication between Disney and Paramount over the course of the weekend, but from what I gather very little constructive came out of it. As apparently many in Disney’s end were a tad emotional Especially the True Believers of the woke cause as South Park just gave it a black eye,” he continued.

The 48-minute long extended episode was wildly inconsistent, with its long segments on the town’s professional men being replaced by AI a bit of a snooze. But the segments mocking Kennedy were dead on-target.
