NOW IT’S GOING TO HIT THE FAN LIKE NEVER BEFORE: Tom Jones and the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) today posted the first entry of its instantly notorious “The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Watchlist: America’s Most Subversive Immigration Bureaucrats.”

The Left went nuts when Jones first announced this project and now that it’s bearing actual results — shining the spotlight on left-wing immigration activists comfortably entrenched in the federal career civi service — but things are really going to get intense in coming weeks. Expect an avalanche of media hit pieces, legal harassment, claims of being subjected to Far-Right violence, and protests wherever Jones speaks,

The Left will go nuts in response to AAF no matter that groups on the Left have been doing similar ideological tracking of conservatives, such as this one looking at Right media outlets. And we haven’t even mentioned similar tracking of conservative activist groups and non-profits by he Southern Poverty Law Center, for which Osorio interned.

Here’s one example from the first 10 AAF posted earlier today: Wilson Osorio is DHS’s Associate Counsel in the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS), making $171,268 annually. He has posted multiple Spanish language TikTok and YouTube videos encouraging immigrants to enter the U.S., using promises of get-rich-quick jobs.

In addition, according to AAF, he “used an out of context image of a colleague in DHS in Border Patrol to promote the false narrative that Border Patrol agents were whipping Haitian migrants. The narrative surrounding the ‘horse whipping’ incident was grossly mischaracterized, serving to unjustly malign Border Patrol personnel. As a senior DHS employee, Wilson Osorio should be held to a higher standard and not post images that suggest his DHS colleagues are violently abusing migrants.”

WELL, YES: Donald Trump Is Benefiting From a Huge Political Realignment Along Class Lines.

While the tactics of some members in the caucuses representing poorer communities might make useful content for a media and political environment that sets out to reaffirm the beliefs of their audiences, it neglects a deeper understanding of why and where these members are coming from.

In a post-COVID world, where white collar workers got ahead and poor communities fell further behind, it is beyond reasonable that these constituencies are looking to their representatives to fight like hell for the interests they believe have been disregarded.

When child poverty rates and measures of health and wealth exceed or even meet national averages, prioritizing norms is a luxury that other Americans living paycheck and paycheck cannot afford.

And in the absence of greater perspective from the narrative-makers to these real-life experiences, the political implications have been undeniable. CNN’s data reporter, Harry Enten, recently found that Donald Trump is poised for the best performance with Black voters since Richard Nixon and the best performance for a Republican with Hispanics in 14 years. Trump is also positioned to break the blue wall of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin with support from white, working class voters, driven by high levels of support from union members and households.

Furthermore, a recent NBC News poll shows that while college educated men and women overwhelmingly support Kamala Harris (+8 and +38 respectively), men and women without a college degree support Trump (+28 and + 3 respectively).

The GOP is shifting into the party of a diverse working class, while national Democrats are absorbing the highly educated and wealthier Americans.

The shift began at least as far back as the Tea Party in 2009 but that movement was effectively squashed by Barack Obama’s IRS, RINOs, and the media’s willingness (eagerness?) to portray Americans calling for fiscal responsibility as racists.

The Establishment GOP got one last at-bat with Mitt Romney in 2012, and we all saw how well that turned out — for the Washington Uniparty, anyway.

Trump filled a vacuum created by a GOP that no longer gave a damn about its core values and a Democrat party that no longer gave a damn about its core constituents.

SUSTAINABILITY: U.S. National Debt’s Unbelievable Spike Over the Last Three Weeks. “We learn that the U.S. debt has jumped by another $473 billion in just the last three weeks.”

More:

It’s hard to see a way back from this disaster. This is six figures of debt for every American man, woman, child, and people of indeterminate gender. Everyone has a part in this. Everyone owns a piece of this debt. And the more the government soaks up debt, the more debt costs the business sector; this calamity affects the economy from top to bottom, and we just keep racking it up. The federal debt affects interest rates, affects stock market volatility, and has the potential to destabilize the entire financial system.

There are three ways out of this mess. We can repudiate the debt, which would send the global economy into a tailspin. We can inflate our way out of it, but that would take a Weimar Republic/Zimbabwe level of inflation at this point to pay off the national debt with worthless dollars.

Oh, we could grow our way out of it. But that would require a federal government that is willing to implement pro-growth policies.

But none of these tactics will work unless we stop the runaway spending.

I don’t know which way Washington will eventually use to get out from under this unsustainable debt. But I am certain Washington will wait until it’s far too late to do so in an orderly way.

WELL, GOOD: New York Supreme Court reinstates all employees fired for being unvaccinated, orders backpay. “The court found Monday that ‘being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19.’ New York City Mayor Eric Adams claimed earlier this year that his administration would not rehire employees who had been fired over their vaccination status.”

That admission is kind of a big deal.

UPDATE: Turns out, this is one of those older stories that sometimes resurfaces for reasons unknown — and slipped past my memory, too.

SHORTLY BEFORE I STOPPED USING IT: When Did Google Search Become Totally Useless?

Granted, these aren’t extremely pressing issues. People researched oil paints and found places to eat for decades upon decades without the assistance of the internet. What is a bigger deal is how nakedly partisan Google has become. Former President Trump has even complained about it, taking time to call CEO Sundar Pichai to point out the problem.

Naturally, his complaints were downplayed, but your Google search is supposedly tailored to your interests. As I am not suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome and have written positively about him (and used Google to find info for such articles), my results should be reflective of that. Instead, I get the latest anti-Trump bromides of the day.

Well, that’s weird. Whereas Trump’s campaign website is pushed down the page when his name is Googled, beneath mostly negative opinion pieces, Harris’ website is right there, with the “top stories” below it. I’m sure that’s just how search engines work, with no biases programmed in whatsoever. The completely neutral algorithm just happens to display the info the campaign would prefer to be displayed first at the top of the page, with the top stories about the candidate being answers to questions people might have about her, as well as a hit piece on Bret Baier thrown in for good measure.

This isn’t just about the election, though, but also about the changing nature between users — again, the product — and the online services we allow ourselves to be pimped out for. The disparities between the results for Trump and Harris simply highlight how stark the problem is.

Since Google is free, users have always been the product delivered to its paying customers: advertisers. Before Google went Woke or whatever you want to call it, the company at least treated users well enough that our treatment was equivalent to being paying customers.

But that hasn’t been true in years.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: It’s Crunch Time and Kamala Is In Modified Basement/Pander Mode. “Let’s focus on the fact that she needed to ‘prepare’ for a taped interview with NBC, the news organization that is more in-the-tank for the Democrats than any other. That’s like having a spoiled nine-year-old take a day to prepare for a trip to Baskin-Robbins. We’ve spent a lot of time discussing Harris’s dull-wittedness and lack of talent, and she keeps going out of her way to prove mean people like me right.”

PAUL TELLER: Republicans Shouldn’t Shy Away From A Spending Fight.

Clearly, the congressional appropriations process is broken, as it has been for at least two decades, where the options are most commonly take-it-or-leave-it, as a government shutdown looms large. As most political observers might predict, Congress will likely do little work on appropriations between now and December.

The excuse in October and early November will be election campaigning, and the excuses for the rest of November will be leadership elections, new Member orientation, fun receptions and, of course, the one-day Thanksgiving holiday stretched into a ten-day vacation.

Then December will suddenly be upon Congress, when Members and staff will likely throw up their hands and claim that there is no time left for anything except an omnibus, so they can “clear the decks” for whomever the next president and congressional leaders will be.

This pattern, while predictable, is not unavoidable. Congress should do all it can now to avoid pushing up against the foolish Dec. 20th deadline.

I’d much rather see the GOP put up a real fight and lose than just roll over again. Sadly, too many GOP congresscritters act as though their real constituents are inside the Beltway.

DON’T GET COCKY:

GOING AFTER CRUCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE: Ukraine, in an Unlikely Attack on an Iconic Cultural Mainstay, Is Sending Drones Into Russia To Blow Up Its Vodka Distilleries. “In a blow to Russia, Ukraine used the cover of night yesterday to blast four large vodka distilleries. Video clips posted online purported to show alcohol tanks burning fiercely in Tula and Tambov, two Russian regions about 300 miles from eastern Ukraine. In the largest attack to date on Russia’s alcohol industry, drones flew from Ukraine and set off the pre-dawn blazes. In President Putin’s wartime economy, alcohol distilleries produce vodka for drinking and ethanol for the military machine.”

DON SURBER: “Heading into the final two weeks, the campaign is separating the boys from the girls. I think Walz needs to try wearing feather boas now because the American dad routine failed like Hamas’s FAFO War with Israel.

I THOUGHT WE’D REACHED PEAK ATLANTIC A WEEK AGO, BUT NO:

The (very) occasional well-written, well-sourced, and interesting article aside, The Atlantic is a garbage publication.

WHEN FREE SPEECH IS AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO YOUR PLANS FOR TOTAL CONTROL: Election Exclusive: British Advisors to Kamala Harris Hope to “Kill Musk’s Twitter.” “England, not Russia, is the culprit in a real foreign election interference story, as the leaked Stateside plans of an advisory group with close ties to Prime Minister Keir Starmer show. . . . In an explosive leak with ramifications for the upcoming U.S. presidential election, internal documents from the Center for Countering Digital Hate—whose founder is British political operative Morgan McSweeney, now advising the Kamala Harris campaign—show the group plans in writing to ‘kill Musk’s Twitter’ while strengthening ties with the Biden/Harris administration and Democrats like Senator Amy Klobuchar, who has introduced multiple bills to regulate online ‘misinformation.’ Klobuchar’s office declined repeated requests for comment.”

I DUNNO, THAT WAS A SUPERSIZED EVENT: This Development Could Be Bigger Than Trump’s McDonald’s Visit. “Former President Donald Trump’s McDonald’s visit was an epic success, and the left was so triggered by it that I would call it a double win. But that success could be eclipsed because on Tuesday it was announced that Trump is now set to appear on Joe Rogan’s highly popular podcast on Friday.”

FROM HOLLY CHISM:  Meals on Wheels.

Meg Turner, vampire, accountant, ruler of her own small territory. Has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Not if you ask her, it doesn’t. Because the world’s going mad, the idiot mortals in charge are forcibly shutting down the economy without the understanding that it won’t start up again as easy as it’s going down, nor that it’s creating a nasty blood shortage for hospitals, much less vampires.

Even better, the head of her line is invading her dreams again, and teaching her history of all things. And teaching her about the laws, and why they’re there. It’s not just to avoid being noticed by humans capable of staking, beheading, and burning vampires during daylight hours—a vampire that breaks fundamental laws turns into something worse than a vampire.

And she’s got a bunch of those knocking at her border, wanting to come in. Worse yet, they’re sending their day-help into her territory to kidnap their meals, and they keep mistaking her for prey. And leaving their discarded empties in her territory to make it look like she’s draining humans without concern for the laws.

This really isn’t looking good, and it’s really not safe for her still-living friends and family.
