LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT CRACK-INDUCED NUDES CAST THE FIRST STONE:
With his trademark eloquence, Biden emphasized how the reauthorization took aim at revenge porn, which he described as “a new civil rights cause of action for those whose intimate images were shared on a public screen.”
“I bet everybody knows somebody,” the president explained, “that in an intimate relationship, what happened was the guy takes a revealing picture of his naked friend, or whatever, in a compromising position and then blackmails.”
True enough, Mr. Biden. Who among us, to pick a random hypothetical from the aether, has not had to face the scandalous repercussions of intimate, illicit photos surfacing after we left a laptop uncollected at a computer repair shop in the sleepy state of Delaware?
As Stacy McCain writes, “Is it not now self-evident that if (a) everything the New York Post reported about Hunter Biden’s laptop is true, then (b) what Joe Biden said about it being a ‘Russian plant’ was a lie? That is to say (c) Biden is a ‘corrupt politician’ exactly as Trump said during that debate, and (d) if the media had reported the truth at the time, maybe Joe Biden wouldn’t be in the White House now.”

ROGER SIMON: The Road to Serfdom—We’re Almost There.
How did it come to pass that what could have been an unpleasant, even severe, but containable health problem evolved into a civilization-destroying pandemic?
Even now, at this early stage, we must ask the age-old question, cui bono—who benefits?
The answer lies in a statement with which we have recently become all too familiar:
“You will own nothing, and you will be happy.”
Happy that COVID is over? Oh, no. Not really. They didn’t mean that.
Many now recognize that sentence for what it is—the marching mantra of the “Great Reset.”
For those who might still be confused, in a well-wrought article for The Epoch Times, Australians Gabriel Moens and Augusto Zimmerman clarify:
“The ‘Great Reset’ may be described as a radical international-socialist plan designed to ‘reset’ the world economy. The goal is to install a highly centralised, heavily regulated, totalitarian system akin to that of China’s Social Credit System.”
Ground Zero of this reset is the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that glorious alpine redoubt cum airport for private jets miraculously powered by solar energy.
The leading progenitor of the “reset” is Klaus Schwab—co-author of the 2020 tome “COVID-19: The Great Reset.” He is joined by various tech billionaires, captains of industry, state leaders, and royals, all of whom, needless to say, have the interest of the common man at heart—at least they say they do. (Remember: “You will be happy.”)
Those that espouse the Great Reset did not create COVID-19. For the moment we can assume that came from human error at the Wuhan Virology Lab. I hope we can anyway, since the deliberate release of the pathogen would be too horrifying to contemplate.
But they—the Great Resetters—seized upon the virus as an unprecedented opportunity to hasten their goals of global control. The CDC, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the World Health Organization (WHO) became in essence their agents with U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Anthony Fauci as their spokesperson. The rest is the dark history we have all been living through.
Despite some insisting otherwise, this devotion to, or more precisely exploitation of, COVID-19 is not stopping.

THE NEW YORK TIMES’ MASK HAS SLIPPED:
Rosenberg doesn’t just undercut the liberal-left narrative on the Capitol riot. He also dishes major dirt about the behaviour of certain colleagues that day. ‘But like all these colleagues who were in the building, and they’re young and are like: “Oh my God, it was so scary.” I’m like, “fuck off…” [The Times] is not the kind of place I can tell somebody to man up, but I kind of want to be like, “Dude, come on. Like, you were not in any danger.”’
It’s impossible to surmise what Rosenberg was thinking when he made these comments. Maybe he was changing his story to impress his companion. Or maybe he was telling the truth, and his original reporting, after undergoing a thorough Timesian editorial clean-up, came out of the machine an entirely different story. Whatever the case, it’s deeply disturbing to hear such a frank admission that the Capitol riot was exaggerated by his own paper.
Rosenberg also reveals the internal conflict at the Times, between the attitudes of the old guard, whom he describes as ‘reasonable people’, and the hypersensitive woke culture prevalent among younger staff members – or as he puts it, ‘some of the crazier leftist shit that’s worked its way in there’.
The sad thing is, under normal circumstances, in a healthy media and political climate, nothing Rosenberg said would be that controversial. What he says is interesting and reasonable. The problem is that what he’s saying is considered verboten in mainstream discourse — whether it’s true or not.

THE PERSON DOING THE REPORTING TO THE “BIAS TEAM” SHOULD BE PUNISHED: Professor reported to bias team for saying race relations have improved since the 1930s.
And the “bias team” should be abolished with prejudice, because “bias teams” are unAmerican, totalitarian garbage.
“It’s a common conception that we’re all very disappointed and very frustrated with someone who has capabilities more than us women have,” said the competitor. “To be able to compete at this level and take opportunities away from other women.”
“I’ve got a teammate who did not make the final today because she was just bumped out. It’s heartbreaking to see someone who went through puberty as a male and has the body of a male be able to absolutely blow away the competition. You got into it with the mindset that you don’t have a chance.”
As reported by OutKick’s Joe Kinsey, Thomas’ record-breaking performance on Thursday also broke the spirits of fellow competitors.
“Thomas’ time of 4:33.24 was a season-best for Thomas and ended up as the top 500 freestyle time in college swimming,” Kinsey noted. “Biological female Virginia freshman swimmer Emma Weyant (4:34.99) was the unlucky competitor who finished runner-up to Thomas in the finals.”
As [Rapid Fire’s Savanah Hernandez] also reported, the Virginia Tech teammate referenced was bumped out of the 500-meter race’s final spot, in lieu of Lia Thomas’ inclusion.
“It’s hard to compete against someone with the aerobic capacity, muscle development, the body of a man,” responded the teammate. “It’s hard; it’s hard to think about it like that. It’s disappointing to see and frustrating.”

THE RUNAWAY COST OF VIRTUE-SIGNALLING:
As gasoline prices in the US continue to surge to an unprecedented $7 a gallon in some places, President Joe Biden seems more interested in finding someone to blame than mitigating the problem. ‘Make no mistake, inflation is largely the fault of [Russian president Vladimir] Putin’, the president said on Friday at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference. The president then cited a ‘fact checker’ in the New York Times and a Washington Post op-ed to counter anyone daring to lay the blame for skyrocketing prices at the feet of the president of the United States.
I guess if you’re going to gaslight working-class Americans who have been struggling with historic levels of inflation for over a year now, it’s good to have legacy media outlets backing you up.
Of course, Biden is right that his decision to ban Russian oil and gas from the US market – a popular move, which 80 per cent of Americans approved of – has exacerbated these trends. But in trying to lay the blame of a year-long trend entirely at Putin’s feet because of a war that started three weeks ago, Biden is erasing the ongoing struggle American families have been facing, enlisting a foreign foe to cover for his domestic failures.
Biden is also attempting to erase the words of…Joe Biden:

JIM TREACHER: Trump Was Right About Hunter Biden’s Laptop:
[Leslie] Stahl was 100% certain there was no substance to the story about Hunter’s laptop, because she didn’t want to believe it. Trump was saying it, so it must’ve been false. That’s just good journalism right there, Leslie.
If you hate me for refusing to kiss Trump’s ring, you’ll just have to keep on hating me because I’ve never voted for him and I never will. But he was right about this, and pretending he was wrong is dishonest.1
The mainstream media and Silicon Valley lied and suppressed the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop because they knew it would hurt his father’s chances in the election. They wanted Trump out of office more than they wanted the truth. They won’t admit it because they’re dishonest, but they can’t stop us from reminding them.2
Trump got this one right, guys. You’re not helping anybody by denying it. You’re only preserving your precarious place in the media ecosystem.
And we see you.
As Michael Goodwin of the New York Post writes, “It took the Gray Lady nearly 17 months to grudgingly concede even a fraction of what New York Post readers learned in October 2020. Of course, Times readers would have learned all that too if their paper were still in the news business instead of being a running dog for Democrats.”

RIP: Alaska Republican Congressman Don Young dead at 88.
His wife, Anne, was by his side, his office said in statement.
“It’s with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce Congressman Don Young, the Dean of the House and revered champion for Alaska, passed away today while traveling home to Alaska to be with the state and people that he loved,” the statement said.
Young, a Republican and the longest-serving member of Congress, lost consciousness on a flight from Los Angeles to Seattle and couldn’t be resuscitated, said Jack Ferguson, a lobbyist who served as Young’s chief of staff.
“Everyone’s learning about it right at the moment. The phone’s ringing off the hook,” Ferguson said in a phone interview Friday. “I’m sad to lose such a good friend, and a person that I’ve known all his political career.”
Young, a Republican, had served in Congress since 1973, when he was sworn in after winning a special election.
Sean Treande of Real Clear Politics tweets that “Young once stuck his hand in a bear trap during a congressional hearing to demonstrate they were not unduly painful. They don’t make ’em like that anymore. RIP.”
ANNALS OF LEFTIST AUTOPHAGY: Chris Cuomo is burning down CNN. And he’s taking Don Lemon with him.
Exhibit No. 1 for the plaintiff is Don Lemon, the CNN host whom Cuomo used to refer to as his “brother.” (Which is rich given how quick Cuomo was to nuke journalistic ethics to bail out his brother Andrew, the former New York governor.)
In November, actor Jussie Smollett testified under oath that Lemon had tipped him off that police in Chicago didn’t buy his claim that a pair of MAGA-hat wearing thugs had emerged from a snowstorm to beat him up and wrap a rope around his neck.
ow, in Lemon’s defense, hardly anyone outside the corridors of CNN believed Smollett’s saga when the fable was first told. It shouldn’t have been shocking to learn that Chicago cops, who hear more credible yarns from truant eighth-graders, had their doubts.
But I digress. Don Lemon’s decision as a self-confessed journalist to alert Smollett that the cops were on to him was an ethical breach almost as bad as helping a politician – who just happens to be your brother – cobble together a defense against sexual harassment allegations.
“Intervening in the ongoing investigation by texting Smollett was an inexcusable breach of ethics,” Cuomo’s lawyers wrote in the arbitration filing. “Yet CNN did nothing; Lemon was not disciplined in any way.”
Inexcusable breach of ethics. Employer looks the other way. Cuomo knows all about such things.
Read the whole thing. To paraphrase Henry Kissinger on the Iran-Iraq War, it’s a pity all of the players can’t lose.
A SCHISM AMONG DEMOCRATS: COVID and the “very liberal.” “The key dividing line appears to be ideology. Americans who identify as “very liberal” are much more worried about Covid than Americans who identify as “somewhat liberal” or ‘liberal.’ Increasingly, the very liberal look like outliers on Covid: The merely liberal are sometimes closer to moderates than to the very liberal. That is a central finding of a poll conducted last week by Morning Consult for this newsletter.”
