AND THE HITS JUST KEEP ON COMING: Beer Supply Crisis: The supply chain crisis and an extinct volcano are spurring a new beer shortage.

21st CENTURY HEADLINES: Chess world rocked by rumors of anal beads and artificial intelligence.

‘Currently obsessed with the notion that Hans Niemann has been cheating at the Sinquefield Cup chess tournament using wireless anal beads that vibrate him the correct moves,’ tweeted one user.

As the chess world debated whether it was possible to cheat in chess with vibrating anal beads, Twitter’s favourite troublemaker Elon Musk, joined in on the debate.

The Tesla CEO reacted to a clip shared by another Twitter user, which showed someone discussing the possibility of anal beads being used.

That’s probably a good one right, an anal bead would probably beat the thing, the engine. I don’t know, I really don’t know,’ said the person in the video.

Musk reacted to the video with an adapted version of a quote from philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. He tweeted: ‘Talent hits a target no one else can hit, genius hits a target no one can see (cause it’s in ur butt).’

Chess fans speculated that anal beads could transmit messages from an accomplice who was watching the game being broadcast live online and consult an AI to transmit the perfect move.

However, it’s unclear if Niemann could be beating the tournament’s anti-cheating precautions, which include a 15-minute delay in the broadcast of moves and radio-frequency identification checks.

Still though, don’t let logic stop you, when you’re researching anal beads that apparently vibrate chess moves in Morse Code.

UPDATE: It’s been suggested to me that Mossad got wind that Khamenei was ill, and decided that they could preeemptively “take credit” for it to freak out their enemies. If so, still good show.

ROGER SIMON: The Ivy League Is Dying—and That’s a Good Thing.

“Jeopardy” for $1.50. … Why were we not surprised that Brian Stelter and Bill de Blasio (né Warren Wilhelm Jr.) ended up on the Harvard faculty?

Because there’s nothing surprising about it.

I know. That was too easy for a “Jeopardy” question.

Harvard and the rest of the Ivy League have been morphing into institutions of higher indoctrination from institutions of higher education for years now, sometimes at the behest of the Chinese communists and sometimes, incredibly, on their recognizance.

If you weren’t sufficiently brainwashed from kindergarten through 12th grade, you will be at an Ivy college—and then some. You’ll be trained to parrot the approved ideology all across the country and the world, through the media and, yet more insidiously, at colleges more lowly on the academic food chain, should you so choose.

So why not ex-CNN bloviator Stelter, who spent the better part of an hour per day for two years shamelessly lying to the American public about nonexistent Trump–Russia collusion, or the former mayor of New York, who helped turn America’s greatest city into the crime-ridden garbage heap it is now and is nowhere near repairing?

They’re simply the obvious next steps into what can only be described as deliberate anti-intellectual inanity, as well as brainwashing by the university (masquerading as the ne plus ultra of thought, of course).

“Fight Fiercely Harvard!” as Tom Lehrer used to sing in a mock football fight song. “Demonstrate to them our will.”

Speaking of Harvard: “It Seems Pretty Weird to Hate Queen Elizabeth,” Jim Treacher writes, embedding a Tweet from the New York Times, which quotes Maya Jasanoff, a history professor at Harvard: “We should not romanticize her era. The queen helped obscure a bloody history of decolonization whose proportions and legacies have yet to be adequately acknowledged.” As Treacher notes, “Well, if Elizabeth wanted journalists and academics to praise her when she died, she should’ve announced she was non-binary and/or a member of ISIS.”

BIDEN VOTERS POSTING THEIR L’s ONLINE:

How it started: Association of Flight Attendants Union and Association of Professional Flight Attendants Endorse Joe Biden For President.

—The American Presidency Project, October 28th, 2020.

How it’s going: American Airlines to close SFO base, displacing over 400 flight attendants.

American Airlines announced that over 400 San Francisco-based flight attendants would be forced to transfer to new locations after it closes its Bay Area base, according to a union representative for the Association of Professional Flight Attendants.

The Flight Attendant base at SFO will be closing on January 21, 2023. The base currently serves as a home base for flight attendants from Sacramento, San Jose and the San Francisco area. This closure will displace around 403 locally-based flight attendants, forcing them to choose a new home base or retire. The SFO APFA Base President Tim Schwartz says that the flight attendants will be able to bid for nearby bases except LAX, which the company says is already overstaffed.

Schwartz says that he has been working at the San Francisco base since 1998. He says he has seen the airline business ebb and flow over the years, including economic slowdowns in 2008 and 2020.

“As we’ve gone through the roller coaster of financial issues that have plagued airlines, the market just hasn’t returned to what the company wants. Then COVID hit,” Schwartz said.

One problem that many of the flight attendants will be facing is uprooting their lives entirely.

“I would probably say the top 250 out of the 400 are rooted and grounded here in the Bay Area. They own homes here, they have kids that have been born and raised here,” Schwartz said.

He also mentioned the challenges that could come up for some of the flight attendants who now need to be based somewhere that isn’t near their home.

MALARKEY: Biden condemns Republicans for using migrants as ‘props.’

Biden, addressing a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute gala, did not directly name GOP governors who have in recent weeks transported migrants out of their states and to blue states and Washington, D.C. But he and other White House officials have pushed back hard on the tactic, dismissing it as a political ploy that puts migrant families at risk.

“Republicans are playing politics with human beings, using them as props. What they’re doing is simply wrong, it’s un-American, it’s reckless,” Biden said Thursday evening.

“And we have a process in place to manage migrants at the border. We’re working to make sure it’s safe and orderly and humane,” Biden continued. “Republican officials should not interfere with that process by waging these political stunts.”

Flashback: Biden administration resumes after-dark migrant flights to airport outside NYC.

JOHN YOO: Democrats and Republicans don’t understand: Each state must decide about abortion.

Last spring, as the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade loomed, Chuck Schumer made the mistake of attempting to federally impose abortion rights nationwide. Now, Lindsay Graham wants to return the favor by seeking to ban all abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Both abortion rights and antiabortion proposals assault the constitutional structure, which protects the right of the states to decide fundamental moral issues. . . .

As Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh wrote in a concurrence that provided the crucial fifth vote to overrule Roe, “The Constitution is neutral and leaves the issue for the people and their elected representatives to resolve through the democratic process in the states or Congress — like the numerous other difficult questions of American social and economic policy that the Constitution does not address.”

Graham’s bill, like Schumer’s, simply seeks to avoid the hard political work of making good-faith arguments, with the goal of persuading Americans on the fundamental moral question of abortion.

Yep.
