ALLEN WEST HAS WON IN FLORIDA, at least according to the Daily Caller; AP has apparently declared Pat Toomey the winner in Pennsylvania.
IKE SKELTON loses in Missouri.
PUTTING THE FEAR OF AQUA BUDDHA INTO MSNBC: You’ve already read MSNBC’s reaction on Instapundit, but the video of Rand Paul’s acceptance speech, stressing the importance of a restrained and less punitive government, is now online.
LOOKS LIKE RENEE ELMERS HAS BEATEN BOB “WHO ARE YOU” ETHERIDGE.
UPDATE: Etheridge refuses to concede. More here.
DEMOCRATIC REP. BARON HILL DEFEATED IN INDIANA, Fox reports. Hill was another victim of YouTube, courtesy of this moment from September of 2009 when he tried to block his constituents from videotaping a town hall:
“This is my town hall meeting, and I set the rules, and I’ve had these rules,” Hill responded, in an authoritative tone. “Let me repeat that one more time. This is my town hall meeting for you. And you’re not going to tell me how to run my congressional office. Now, the reason why I don’t allow filming is that usually the films that are done end up on YouTube in a compromising position.”
Yes, lack of compromise can put one in a very compromising position indeed.
NO, THAT’S NOT A MISTAKE: Ed Driscoll — who still has the keys from when he was guestblogging last year — has come on board to do a little time-zone arbitrage. He’s on the West Coast, so he’ll be able to keep coverage going longer than I will. I’m about to pour myself a glass to Tullamore Dew and take a more relaxed view of the proceedings . . . .
PAUL KANJORSKI LOSES IN PENNSYLVANIA: As I posted a little while ago in the election night round-up on the Pajamas Media Website, the Daily Caller reports, “Democratic Rep. Paul Kanjorski lost to his Republican challenger in Pennsylvania. Kanjorski held the seat for 26 years.”
Kanjorski had become increasingly gaffetastic in recent years, leading to this classic YouTube moment in which he admitted that in “the temptation to want to win back the Congress,” his party “sort of stretched the facts” in 2006:

And then there was the quote from the middle of 2008 in which he was promising that Democrats would dust-off ancient and sclerotic New Deal-era programs if they won the presidency, months before the economy seriously tanked in the fall of that year.
(Incidentally, a big thanks to the Professor for inviting me to sit in on election night.)
FOX SAYS BARBARA BOXER IS SAFE, AND JERRY BROWN WILL WIN THE GOVERNORSHIP.
UPDATE: Reader Sung Kim emails:
I wouldn’t put too much stock in the exit polls for California’s races. The polls just closed, and I beat the close by about 20 minutes, at which time I saw a flood of people coming in after work, trying to get their votes in. If you take it as a truism that Republicans are more likely to vote in the evening after work (not to suggest that Democrats don’t work, but… as a relative measure… .), expect a flood of late Republican votes getting tallied this evening. And yes, the Republicans are fired up; even here in San Francisco my Republican friends (yes, we are a small but determined conclave) went out and voted despite the fact that they normally skip elections.
Well, we’ll see. Stay tuned!
IN ILLINOIS, Bobby Schilling defeats Rep. Phil “who cares about the Constitution” Hare.
VIDEO: Michele Bachmann To MSNBC’s Chris Matthews: That Thrill Isn’t Tingly Anymore.
And reader Allen S. Thorpe writes:
You and Ann must be driving a lot of viewers to MSNBC. I’m watching with the sound off and their faces and body language are saying even more than their words: sour grapes, snarling and what ever the opposite of schadenfreude is. They all look like bullies who were just pounded by Ralphy, the kid in “A Christmas Story,” licking their wounds.
I’m reminded of how the Fox News team looked in the 2004 election when they had gotten all the early exit polls and thought Bush was losing, but the Fox people looked grave, not snarling.
Don’t watch MSNBC, watch PJTV. Wouldn’t you rather see Bill Whittle and Brandi Milloy than Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann?
FEINGOLD DEFEATED: NBC calls Wisconsin for Ron Johnson.
NBC CALLS S.C. GOVERNORSHIP FOR NIKKI HALEY.
PROJECTED VICTORIES FOR JOHN MCCAIN, CHARLES GRASSLEY, TERRY BRANSTAD. And a gubernatorial pickup in Pennsylvania for Republican Tom Corbett. Deval Patrick re-elected. Republican Matt Mead picks up governorship in Wyoming.
HERE IN TENNESSEE, Democratic Congressional incumbent Lincoln Davis has lost to Republican challenger Scott DesJarlais. Democrat Jim Cooper survived. Also in the State House of Representatives, Republican challenger Julia Hurley has knocked off long-time Democratic incumbent — and Internet-tax advocate — Dennis Ferguson. Bill Haslam cruised to victory as Governor. The right-to-hunt-and-fish constitutional amendment passed with 90% support.
NPR’S DAVID FOLKENFLIK ON TWITTER: “Rubio is very compelling in acceptance speech – and refreshing to see him address a crowd rather have them behind him as he talks to cameras.”
FOX CALLS IT FOR BARNEY FRANK OVER SEAN BIELAT.
LIVEBLOGGING from Allen West HQ, Tea Party Patriots, Sean Bielat HQ. “There was a big cheer here at Allen West’s victory party when Dan Webster was declared the winner over Alan Grayson, and West himself is currently leading 57-43. Nobody has yet brought me a cold Corona.”
ANN ALTHOUSE: “MSNBC is hilarious. They’re near meltdown. Rand Paul will destroy America. The Republicans ‘salivate at the thought’ of worldwide economic collapse.”
UPDATE: Reader David Shorrosh writes:
I’ve been watching the MSNBC election coverage to see how they present the results, and I have to say it is kind of incredible — the smugness and open hostility to what they are reporting is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. If this is typical of how the MSM and the left handle the events of the day, it’s only going to get worse for them.
They’re ignoring the Democrat’s losses and focusing on the destruction about to be unleashed by the Tea Partiers. Larry O’Donnell is literally saying Senator-elect Rand Paul poses a direct threat to the US credit rating and global economy because he said that government debt is a drag on the US economy, and a vote on the debt ceiling is coming up.
It’s almost like watching the three or four unpopular nerds console each other with witty insults against the popular kids having a great time at a party they weren’t invited to.
Sigh.
IN WEST VIRGINIA, Manchin wins. Of course, he did it by running against Obama and ObamaCare.
FOX NOW CALLS U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR G.O.P., projecting a gain of 60 seats.
UPDATE: MSNBC Agrees.
